Eight months pregnant: a time when most women would want to stay off their feet. But forensic psychologist Michael Stone is no ordinary woman. When her old friend, the warden at Nelson's Point Correctional Facility, asks her to replace a psychologist who was leading the sex offender therapy group, Michael can't say no. As she soon discovers, her predecessor was dismissed for having sexual relations with an inmate -- and had befriended a smooth-talking prisoner in her group...a prisoner who now has his eyes on Michael. When violence erupts, leaving one inmate dead and one official in a coma, all eyes are trained on Michael's group. With no witnesses or weapons to be found, Michael races against the clock -- armed only with her knowledge of the psychopathic mind -- to uncover a vicious criminal network that might extend far beyond the prison walls....

Book #4 in Micheal Stone series. Wondering why author did not continue with more books in the series. It is a very fast read. Did not want to put the book down.
Finished the book to learn it was a 4th in a series. The back story would have made more sense had I realized this and read the other books first. I'm anal about reading series in order. This one caught me off guard and out of order. The main character, Michael Stone (a female) was okay but did not grab my sympathies or loyalties. There was no great grabber conflict to resolve, just a mystery with an known ending. I probably will not read other books by this author.
This is the forth book I have read by this author, and it is as good as all the others, which means it is very good. Page turning mystery, good characters, fun and quick to read. She has a psychological bent to her writing that I really enjoy.
