Double Dare

Rate this book
Two hearts entangled in a steamy affair and a truth or dare game brought about by a mutual desire for erotic discovery.

Investment broker Abigail Douglas has got it all, but Abby--the woman--longs for a secret affair, a playmate who knows nothing about her high-powered business world, and Zac Bordino might just be the man. He's mysterious and sexy--just right for Abby's walk on the wild side--but very soon she finds that she wants more, and his mysterious, evasive nature makes her curious. Is there more to this sexy, entrepreneurial club owner than meets the eye? And why does she suddenly feel as if her every move is being watched?

Zac Bordino is perplexed when he realizes that the woman managing his business investments is the same woman he's having an affair with. She's pretending to be a little nobody out for a good time, and because she's a red hot number he plays along, cautiously observing her to get to the truth. From high-powered offices in London to pulse-pounding nightclubs in Paris, they find an insatiably perfect match in business and in pleasure. But when Zac begins to fall for Abby, he has to decide whether to reveal the secret link between them, or try to win her heart first.

I really enjoyed the overall story. Super hot, perfectly matched couple. Lots o' steamy sex. There were a few things that bugged me, but the overall story was good enough to overcome them. Things that bugged me:

There's a short scene of f/f that really just looked thrown in there. Abby has a bi-sexual friend, and while she's talking about how much Zac turns her on, her friend takes advantage of her overheated hormones and gets Abby off. Um. ???? Why? Other than the beginning, where this friend got her the tickets to Zac's club, there was nothing more about this friend. It wasn't even hot. It could have been taken out completely and the story would have been complete.

There was a short scene of the side characters having sex in the boss's office. It's not like the boss found out. There was a slight reference to that night later on, but not the specific act. It's not like Suzanne came clean about it to Abby or anyone else. Again, it seemed just thrown in there. And again, it could have been taken out completely and the story would be good.

Lastly, the anal scene. He prepared her with one finger, only her juices (which were apparently copious -- she really dug him, lol), and for not very long. It was her first time. It just seems, with how much he was in tune with her, that he'd realize it might be more comfy with more of all of the above. It's not like she appeared to mind, but this is fiction, right? :-) I have to wonder if there was a checklist somewhere... f/f? Check. Sex in the boss's office? Check. Anal? Check.

One thing that was really refreshing to me, however, was how Abby handled herself when she found out who Zac really was. She was always worried about being professional, and she definitely lived up to her own expectations on that front. I'm not sure I could have kept my cool.

Of course there's the HEA that I always love to see, so I'm a happy camper.

Steamy Hot Sexy Scenes in this book. Makes you want a Zac for your self. Abby meets Zac after a short hot ride in the elevator, where they watch a couple who can barely keep there hands off there selves. Which in turn seems to make both Abby and Zac very horny. When Zac gets off the elevator at the same floor as her she asks if she can help him. He is delivering a envelope as a favor, so she takes for granted that he works for a delivery service. Before he leaves he leaves his card for the Club he owns and invites Abby and the Receptionist sitting at the desk. Abby lets Zac believe that she is a Receptionist too. Only because most men are intimidated by the fact that she is not only beautiful but has brains. She is an investment advisor and a damn good one. She is actually the brains behind his mother's company. He just doesn't know it yet.
Once he finds out he doesn't tell her he knows. And he doesn't admit that he is the son of the company that she is working for. So actually they both are lying.
They are the perfect match when it comes to the sex. Wow. Steamy kinky. Love it. Great!!!

Some may not agree, but I found this book kind of cheesy. It to me was kind of like taking a corn dog and saying it's still good for you because it has meat in it when in reality it is deep fried and filled with fat, calories, and chemicals. The cheesy lines said by the characters and the excessive sex is wrapped in a plot too weak to make this book worth my time.I could see why the copy I have came from a mark-down shelf at Barnes and Noble. No matter how you slice it,it is a crapshoot, and you take chances when opening any book.Sometimes you get a great book, and sometimes you don't such as this one.It could have been alot better instead of being just another cheesy "Fifty Shades "knock off without the whips. That's just my opinion.

Saskia Walker always manages to write steamy love stories, and sweet love stories. This time it was no exception.
I loved the chemistry between the main couple, but I think it was too heavy on the sex part. There is a plot, behind all the getting-nekkid thing.
Abby is an Investment Manager, and she doesn't know her new client is the hunk she just meet. They start dating - aka having lots and lots of sex - and Zac can't tell her the truth afraid she'll break up with him. It's a nice plot, however it is forgotten in all the sex going on. There's also the secondary couple, that I would like a full book, and not a few loose parts. In overall it was an okay book. Nice plot, very steamy but it was however dominated by the sex. I'm giving it 3. 5 Stars.

I give it 3.5 stars. Good storyline. Forgettable characters, nothing really stood out about them. Story was way too long.

Goes down as another off my 2018 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book by a female author. Seems Abby’s way of getting herself geared up to do something is to dare herself. When she meets Zac for the first time she has quite a few banked to follow through with the chemistry bubbling between them.

So the chemistry between Abby and Zac when they first meet could be called electric. He holds the lift for her and while first looks get both their attentions it’s the fact that another couple in their are getting a bit frisky that seems to heat things up. Seems her looking at them and then seeing him looking at her watching them is turning them both on to no end. Her floor arrives and she thinks the charge between them will end. Not so much when he gets off after her to deliver some papers. Now here you would think she’d say who she is and what she does but as the result usually intimidates men she likes she says she’s a new receptionist. He seems interested all the same, enough to give her his card for somewhere new to check out called The Hub. Now he’s made the impression he’s just the delivery guy so this misdirection of jobs does go both ways. Could another chance meeting be on the cards to sort things out?

Seems the papers were from Zac’s mother for her investment package trying to be pulled together by the company. She wants him to take over from her now she’s retired but he’s not too keen with his own business starting. Well that is until he sees a certain face within the company brochure that is. Seems Abby may have lied but he doesn’t know why. She’s now looking after the account and he can’t figure out if she is playing some kind of angle to get ahead. He needs trust but trust is earned. Well it should be anyway but our girl Abby seems to feel the pull for Zac too much to step back and question things straight off.

She and her friend Marcy go to a show at The Hub – one that starts to awaken inner desires she never knew she had – and bumps into him again. He all but insists they should meet again and it doesn’t take long for Abby to crave him enough to distraction by returning the next night. Seems she gets what she came for, him too, but its not enough to fuel their need for each other. One taste was never going to be enough with these two. He wants the truth but goes about it wrongly when getting his friend Nathan to look into her life by following her. The longer they are together the harder the tension bubbles with him as he has dug himself a hole by not saying who he really is and how they are now connected.

Loved the fun that Zac and Abby had in Paris though. A romantic place to explore, along with how they feel about each other, where they go forward and how fun it is to open yourself to new pleasures. Its like Zac wanted to do everything he could think of to show her how he feels knowing that at any moment it could come crashing down.

Seems they aren’t the only ones being dragged into a world of fun and games with a couple of lies thrown in for good measure. When Nathan looks into Abby he goes to her office and bumps into Suzanne. He’d usually be the one to pick up a woman but seems the tables have turned and she’s the one looking for control. But by what they get up to later that night I don’t think he minds one bit.

Thought Ed was a bit funny at the end with how he almost wanted Abby to be broken hearted that that he’d got with someone else. Then the confused face he has when he still doesn’t get that she really has no feelings on the matter either way. Now Abby’s boss Tom on the other hand was just a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen. What a creep! Thought the part with her friend Marcy, with how they progress when talking about how hot and bothered Zac makes her, was completely unnecessary and just felt a bit randomly placed. They could have still talk but didn’t really need to go further.

Double dare this girl and she’s likely to do anything, seems to be her thing. Zac certainly knows how to bring out her creative sexual side. He’s more than happy to oblige. It’s just the elephant in the room that’s going to cause a bit of chaos. Lets see how it pans out.

I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

Definitely Deliciously Decadent

Wow what a book! This had me gripped from beginning to end, I didn't want it to ever end. It's sexy, raw, exciting and told with such emotion. I laughed and cried in equal measures, I want my own Zac, he's gorgeous, Moody, mysterious and mesmerising against Abby, who is smart, snazzy and sensuous! I will read this book more than once, it gave me warm feelings all over. Such an excellent story.

I enjoyed this book, for the most part. There were certain parts that seemed unnecessary. There was one f/f scene, where Abby’s friend gets her off while Abby is thinking about Zac. I thought it was just confusing. But most of the other sex scenes were pretty steamy and hot. I liked Abby and Zac’s story.

Definitely an erotic read. Lots of steamy loving in this one. Which starts out with one little white lie that turns into something much bigger.

Abby just wants to have a good time with a mysterious stranger. Most men treat her differently when they realize she's an investment banker in charge of millions of dollars. So she just wants someone to have fun with who doesn't know that side of her. She finds that in Zac. He's everything she's been looking for and they fun they're having together seems to grow into something more.

Zac can't figure out why Abby lied to him. He know she's the one dealing with his mothers company and yet she's keeping that information from him. He's not sure if he should trust her or if she's playing some sort of game with him. Things get out of hand when he realizes he's falling for her and there's nothing he can do.

What a fun read. Abby and Zac were so adventurous in the bedroom. They couldn't get enough of each other. I couldn't help but laugh when Abby finely finds someone she really enjoys and all these other men keep throwing themselves at her. What a lucky girl.

I loved it. Lots of play time, lots of entertaining scenes and Abby's small secret that seems like nothing to her is in fact the catalyst of everything that happens. If you like the erotic, I think you'll enjoy this one.

Abby Douglas is a finance guru just assigned an important portfolio that could define her career. While trying to catch the elevator to her office, she runs into a courier that is very attractive. When she learns that he is delivering a package to her firm, she plays the receptionist and accepts the delivery to get a better look at the stunning man. Zac Bordino couldn't believe his luck. He was just dropping off some papers for his mother, and ran into beautiful Abby Douglas. She assumed he was the courier, and so he played the role.

Both are lying to each other from the beginning, which made it very difficult to care about either one of them. The deception is completely unbelievable, and obviously contrived just to have a reason to throw them together. No real story development is present. Zac is a master manipulator used to getting anything he wants. Abby is fickle, selfish, and not very likeable either. I couldn't bring myself to care about them as a couple let alone individuals. The "steamy" scenes are forced for plot purposes, but can't be really felt by the reader. No sensuality or connection existed between them.

Came across this book by chance and so glad that I did. I loved this story! Abigail is strong, smart and secure in her own skin. She is passionate and driven. She is a force to be reckoned with. Zac is the son of rich parents trying to establish some goals of his own when he takes over some of his mother's business for a short time. His dealings with the business bring him to meet Abigail. They have an instant connection and their story develops into quite a steamy, yet sweet romance. The side story of Nathan and Suzanne is just as fun. This story and the characters have drawn me in...I wish there was more to come!

A very well written erotic novel. It made a lovely change that there were only a few typos along the way, but they didn't distract you from the story, which is why I gave it 4.5 stars and upgraded it to 5 (as I would normally downgrade to 4).

The book flows along at a really good pace. The author does an exceptional job of drawing you into the story and getting you to really care about the characters. I do hope there's a sequel, as I feel there is enough to justify another book, as I would love to see more of Nathan, Suzanne and Caroline.

I have read one other book by this author, which I really enjoyed, so I will definitely be checking out more of her work.

Have just spend a dreary, miserable (weather wise) Sunday curled up with this book.
SO nice to have a HEA and not a trilogy.
Well written. Love reading books set in London/Kew where as a former resident, I can relate to and picture.
Not sure about the f/f moment, but at least it was only a short section.
Only a few typos so another plus point there.
Lots of steamy under the collar action which I just might reread ...
Excellent book and would recommend

Really liked this book! Sexy, interesting storyline line. Secrets, lust, a strong heroine working in a male dominant profession and kicking ass...parts of it seemed too lengthy at times, but not enough to make me want to put it down. Will definitely read more from this author! Seriously hot sex people!

This book was up and down for me. There were parts that I greatly enjoyed and then there were parts that almost made put the book down. The sex was hot, but at times it felt a little forced and awkward. Towards the end of the book I became more interested in the secondary characters rather than the main characters. Overall, a decent read.

he knows who she is, but she doesn't know who he is. what will happen when she finds out?? actually, not a lot. I was expecting a massive fall out and make up, but it just went poof and finished.
lots of rumpy pumpy, both for the main characters and the sub characters, but nothing overtly kinky.

Not a bad read for a freebie

I thought it was hot, but there were some gratuitous scenes in there that took me out of the an otherwise great story. I didn't think that they were needed, the story was so good as it was without having to through in some extra-salacious scenes.

I did like the writing style. Abby and Zac's relationship is started and continued with lies. I finished this one after stopping a few times. It is hard to understand how two people fall for each other and still have lies between them. I don't want to say more, but this wasn't the book for me.
