With Angelica at his side, Haruka enjoys the spoils of dungeoneering, and even uses his newfound wealth to inject a little modern-day flair into the city of Omui. Life on the frontier is peaceful until Haruka notices a mysterious girl tailing him. She's been sent as a spy by the neighboring nation…and the threat she's scoping out is Haruka! The tale of the lone wolf is just getting started!
This fourth volume was mostly about revealing clothing for the Emperor Rep (Last Boss Angelica) and the rest of females from Haruka's class. Lots of sexual innuendos and "sleep" (sex). I know it is supposed to be ironic and sarcastic and funny, but the author repeats everything too much, and lays the jokes a little bit too much (too thick)... His vibration skill, is not really a massage skill and author uses it more like a female pleasuring skill... Hopefully, the author changes this story a little bit, so that now that Haruka is constantly having "sleep", he doesn't need to look for his "sex appeal" anymore. Book 4 is from day 39 to day 49, so very little time has passed from the day Haruka's class was isekai-ed to this other world, but already Haruka is incredibly and nonsensically Over-Powered (OP). The illustrations of Book 4 do not really represent the important points, story arcs that are covered in this book...nor are the character descriptions those of the characters featured in this Book 4. So, English editor is sloppily publishing a story that could be edited better... This light novel series in Japan, is already at Book 10, hopefully, the U.S. and Canadian Publisher hurries up/catches up because they are 6-7 books behind... The main character, Haruka, is way more paranoid, obsessive-compulsive and addicted to speed (caffeine or worse)...hopefully, in the future books, the author lessens the speed at which the main character speaks, thinks, achieves, completes, sleeps, in debts his girl school mates and the village merchants, everything...
This series is extremely hit or miss. It has its unique gimmick—the writing style and dialogue. Either you love it, or hate it.
This volume got to me, it dragged on and on for what felt like months. Also, the constant mention of Haruka’s sex life is funny at first, but gets pretty old pretty fast for me. Also, their minors. So kinda odd to be so outright about it. Not that that part got me hung up too much.
Overall this volume didn’t really have anything special regarding conflict. I actually don’t think there was more than 20 pages of conflict. Just more of Haruka’s rambling, sex, and tangents.
The author is terrible at writing here. just gives up on writing names for dialogue properly, skips actual world building and the girls are just quippy useless voices they're thoroughly unhelpful.
Everyone not the main character is minimized to one note "things" (not characters) and don't contribute to conversations in any meaningful way other than to annoy you.
Tried skipping any dialogue scene because the girls, boys, and enemies are genuinely too stupid to read. Dropping this series because the author _sucks_ at formatting to the point where the chapter titles are enough to understand the plot.
The lewdness escalated quickly. At first, there were just vague innuendos, but then I reached the "vibration magic" part. That's when the innuendos became...not so vague...It ain't right. Hahaha. Anyway, this was yet another fun installment in our hero's journey. Our boy is becoming more godlike in power. And his bodyguard skelegirl is now also his mistress. Other stuff happens too... All in all, not too shabby for a mere background npc.
A wonderful sequel with a hilarious and crazy story from the most incomprehensible hero ever. The author brings the characters alive, with outstanding dialogues that are fun and tides nicely between chapters and characters. One of the most incomprehensible heroes ever, with one of the most fun to read monologues and situations that’ll make you laugh. I’ll definitely be looking for the next volume.
I can't claim that this book is great fiction in any way, but nothing I've read recently has made me laugh as much. I can take issue with the author's flat characters and meandering plot or I can just enjoy the humor, and this book made me do the latter.
I absolutely love this series! Haruka-kun’s personality is the funniest. I needed a good laugh and it gave me double! I also love that the books have a lot of story packed into the chapters. You feel so satisfied after every book. I can’t wait to read more!
*Update 09/22/2022: The publisher has now pushed an update with the correct first chapter.*
!Warning to anyone considering buying this as an ebook!
The publisher released this with the first chapter missing, having the first chapter from Book 2 in its place. While I'm amazed that this made it out to the public in this state, the fact that they haven't pushed an updated version with the correction is even more baffling.
