This was an earnest read for me. It really contrasted what soft skills are. For a person like me, soft skills are something I have to be more conscious of because I tend to be very matter of fact. I strongly agree that if you don't know and admire yourself no one else will. However, I liked the author saying that confidence is not arrogance but rather a quiet and secure belief in oneself. I also realize I fall down on communicating with others which I can work on. I had a light bulb moment when I read, "No one will ever feel you are taking something seriously if you appear unwilling to listen". I may have my flaws but I am smart enough to apply some of the teachings of this book.

If you're new at work environment in a professional career or starting out as an entrepreneur, there are a lot of really helpful tips in this book. I definitely found it provides a solid grounding for anyone stepping into the world of business. There are a great number of useful tools to help calm nerves, prepare a memorable introduction and more. Although some things felt rather obvious to me, so perhaps there isn't as much for professionals who already have a lot of experience, I feel it's still useful to have all the points collected in a single volume. Certainly worth a read.

Great Resource for Young & Old

I got this book thinking it would be helpful for my son who is a recent high school graduate. And it definitely will be! I do wish I had it as a young person starting out! But as someone who was out of the professional world as a stay at home mom for many years, I also found many reminders helpful to myself as a business owner. Anyone looking to sharpen their professional “soft” skills will benefit from this book.

Career Elevator is a book I wish I had when beginning my job search. This book is very clear, practical, well organized, and lays out a direct plan for preparing oneself to getting hired. Knowing etiquette is unique to this book, but is essential, not only for getting hired, but for acquiring personal social skills that will benefit you throughout life. Valuable Tool!

What a great roadmap for anyone starting their journey into the workforce. Would make great graduate gifts too. My absolute favorite part is how the author addresses forming relationships as a key to career success. This is true in careers and in life!

An Essential Career Toolkit.

What an informative book, packed with tips and ideas on every page.
I bought this book for my daughter who will soon be starting her working life. However, there are so many worthwhile ideas and life skill tips here, that make this book an invaluable tool for every career stage and indeed for every area of life.
The conversational tone, anecdotes and personal experience of the author make this a very practical and engaging read. The clear layout and summaries mean that the ideas and advice jump off the page at the reader and will be remembered long after the reader has finished the book. I highly recommend this book.
