'Spencer Cohen, Book Three' is the third and final installment in ‘The Cohen Spencer Series’ and like the predecessor picks right where the previous installment ended. While this one not my favorite book in the series, I enjoyed very much and I highly recommend this series if you are looking for a sweet and overall light m/m series. N.R. Walker delivered again a heartwarming cute and fun installment with unfortunately just a little bit of steam. I can’t complain since I loved Spencer and Andrew, the two main characters so much and the epilogue was everything I wanted for these two guys.

In this installment both Spencer and Andrew learn how to be in a committed relationship. Both of them are inexperienced, but they are willing to learn how to be everything the other needs. Spencer cares about Andrew and he knows Andrew cares about him as well, but he can’t deny how scared he is. Allowing himself to be exposed and vulnerable after everything that happened with him frightens him, but he doesn’t regret meeting Andrew or that fact they became so close in a such short period of time. However, he wonders what will happen with him if Andrew someday decides he’s not worth it. Can he survive another rejection?

When something happens and Spencer has to go home in Australia, Andrew is ready to prove him how dedicated he is to their relationship and to show him that he is worth loving.

“He’d kissed me before, but this was different. The way he held me, the way he rocked into me and kissed me so deeply was new. It wasn’t passion and need. It was emotion and longing.”

While this wasn’t the most steamier installment in the series (and btw I wasn’t too bothered by this aspect like many readers were) I enjoyed the story line. This final book focused more on the relationship between these two men and of course on their emotional connection. Like in the previous book in the series the character development was well done. Both Spencer and Andrew were endearing and I liked their portrayals. The way they were with each other really warmed my heart and their tenderness was simply wonderful. Andrew was everything Spencer needed in every way and I loved him for the way he cared for Spencer. His support meant everything.

I liked all the supporting characters. They were vividly portrayed and every single one of them was entertaining. The angst and drama are low in this installment and I have to say I really enjoyed the fun and sexy interactions between the two main characters.

Overall, a nice, enjoyable read!

My 209th book and maybe the last one i will read in 2018. Yay!

This series is sooo sweet, and will put you into a sugar coma.

4 stars for book 1 and 2

3.5 stars for book 3

MC 1: Spencer the relationship expert, Australian guy living in US, sweet, loving. funny and a really amazing guy.

description

MC 2: Andrew, the artist for Dream-works, Sweet, loving, bossy top and also a good guy.

description

Spencer and Andrew meet when Andrew hires Spencer to pretend to be his boyfriend, to make Andrew's ex jealous. From the moment these two met, i felt their chemistry.

Book 1 focuses on them getting to know each other, the progress is slow, sweet and believable.

Book 2 gives us the hot smexy scenes, Andrews shines in the bedroom as the bossy top. The sex scenes were scorching hot.

Book 3 focuses on the emotional connection, but loses the smexy factor. The sex scenes were FTB and that really pissed me off. I liked it but not as much as book 1 and 2. IMO, this story would have easily fit into 1 book, instead of being broken down into 3 books.

Spencer's parents are really bad people. Thank heavens for Spencer's second family and his best friends, Lola and Emilio.

Overall, it was sweet, angst free and enjoyable read. Highly recommended! when you are in the mood for sweetness.

Solid 4 stars for the series!

This was a nice end to the series. I'm glad I waited until all of the books were out to read them, though my personal preference would have been for it to be all one book.

The whole series was just a nice read. Not necessarily wowing but easy and enjoyable.

Low angst.
Great MCs.
A fun plot.
Good steam.
Several LOL moments.

I've always been a big NR Walker fan, and this series definitely didn't disappoint.

Recommend!

I have really enjoyed this series. Spencer is such a lovable MC, and Andrew is his rock.

In this third book especially, Spencer has to lean on Andrew time and time again. Spencer and Andrew tell themselves they need to take things slowly; they don’t want to push the relationship. But they are so good together, it’s impossible to stop the tide.

When Spencer is rushed to the hospital, Andrew never leaves his side. Andrew will follow Spencer anywhere, including Australia.

Spencer loves Andrew, but he’s scared to say the words. It takes a tragedy to make Spencer realize that life is precious and that you need to embrace love, not push it away.

Sadly, this book is less sexy than book 2. Most of the sex is off page or fade to black. The focus is on the emotional connection the men share.

One complaint I have is that nothing about the setting felt like L.A. I snorted when Spencer and Andrew hang out with Andrew’s artsy friends, and everyone is all friendly and welcoming. Where was the name dropping, the one-upping? I lived in L.A. for years, and the cultural sense of the place was definitely missing.

Likewise, when Spencer and Andrew visit Sydney, nothing about the setting said Sydney. Everyone speaks the same as they do in the States. I wanted more Aussie, damn it.

There was something about this book that irked me. Maybe it’s because everyone is just so nice and perfect? It read a little Mayberry to me (but you all know I’m a snarky bitch, so take that with a grain of salt).

What made this book for me was the epilogue, which had all the FEELS and catapulted this story into 4 star territory. I read it three times. Pure sweetness!

(We saw more of Yanni in this book, and I was thrilled that he found an awesome guy who treats him right. Even though we see Yanni’s HEA, I would still read his story.)

This is one book and Series you want to put at the top of your TBR Pile and get started on it Now
The Cover of Trendy L.A. gives you a sneak into Book Three!! As these two continue to grow as a couple and as individuals. This is one amazing story and I am going to do this review just a little different, because these two deserve uniqueness!!

So this series just blew.me.away! Can I just tell you that I hadn't read much of N.R. Walkers work before this series, I always saw her books but my plate was always full of books to be read first. Well, that has changed. Now when I see an N.R. Walker book coming out...you can be sure it will move to the top of my pile! I loved this entire series, every word, each concept, the characters, the setting, the background - ALL of it! So, now I want everyone to read this series, not even kidding-all of you need to read it, Spencer will wiggle his way into your heart and you will be forever besotted with him.

Now let me tell you the top 10 reasons I think you need to read this book:
1. Spencer Cohen - those two words top it all. He is one MC you will never forget.
2. Andrew Landon - our second MC, he is unique in his own ways and trust me..he completes Spencer.
3. The concept - meeting a future love [Spencer Meets Andrew] while pretending to be his boyfriend so he [Andrew] can try to get his ex-fiancé back.
4. The location - Setting is L.A. With all it's charm and a lot of the story takes place in a tattoo shop, unique again!
5. The rawness. This story isn't all happy unicorns chasing rainbows over fluffy clouds. Our author truly knows how to reach inside your chest, grab your heart and squeeze! [In the Best Way of Course]
6. The supporting characters - they are so intricately weaved into this story, they are perfect.
7. Lumber-sexual, tattooed man - meets - preppy, argyle sweater wearing man.
8. The chemistry- did I mention they are both versatile and have no qualms about trying new things.
9. Cindy Crawford - you will understand when you read the story.
10. The Music - music is a central part of this story, in all forms and our author has excellent taste with music selections that truly add to the story.

I could go on and on about this series. I am so happy that our characters got their perfect endings. Spencer and Andrew are two men who complete each other, they are each other's missing piece. This book is perfection!

Favorite Quotes:
"I may not be the reason you wore that tux tonight, but I can damn well be the reason you take it off.” I grinned at him. “Mmm, Bossy Andrew. My favourite.” “I thought you liked Hulk Andrew.” “I like all the Andrews.”

“Don’t be embarrassed. If there was a magazine titled Things That Make Spencer Happy, your toothbrush in my bathroom would be on the cover.”

And of course ...

"All I could do was stare at him. Someone asked him a question, but I couldn’t pay attention. I couldn’t draw my eyes away. He was so fucking perfect. Unbelievably gorgeous, kind, intelligent, and funny. If I were to believe that souls were split in two and we needed to search out our soulmate, then I’d found him. He was the very missing half of me."

“I love you. Andrew Landon, I am in love with you. I have been in love with you since that time at my place when I asked you to pick an album to play, and out of all of my vinyl collection, you picked Jeff Buckley’s ‘Hallelujah.’ I just haven’t been able to tell you, until now. You healed something inside me.”

I highly recommend this series. You really can't go wrong, it has everything you need in a book and more - 5+ Stars to this amazing series and to this book!

I've really enjoyed this series but this one didn't wow me like the first two, unfortunately.
So in book one there weren't any sex scenes which was how it should be given their developing relationship.
Book two was just delicious when they started getting down and dirty.
But,what happened here???
I wasn't looking for sex on every page but this was just lacking in the steam department for me

The focus here is on the way the relationship between Spencer and Andrew develops....it was so damn sweet, maybe too sweet?
There's no denying these two are perfect together and I loved the way Andrew was so devoted to Spencer.
There was just something missing here for me.It wasn't just the lack of steam....I wanted a bit more gritt to the story.

Despite my negatives in this one,it's a very enjoyable M/M romance series that I would definitely recommend......

I thought this series was too sweet. I was bored a little after the second book. The MCs were too perfect. But then…I have to tell you something. I never read the trigger warnings. But I should.

When Spencer got a call from Australia, I didn’t expect what was coming. When I read that his younger brother committed suicide, it brought me back to when I got that exact same phone call. Your brother took his own life, it said. And my world fell apart.

And then I was so grateful for the sweetness of this story. For how perfect Andrew was. I’ll never forget how perfect and solid my husband was when it happened. You need a rock. Andrew was Spencer’s rock.

I’m so grateful the book was sweet. It was too much for me already without adding angst. So obviously my experience was very personal. Some people will say it was too sweet, too perfect. I’m so glad it was.

I do wish we could have seen Spencer’s parents. I wish the loss of their son would open their eyes. But I guess some people are just blind and horrible.

But overall, Spencer and Andrew and all their friends and family were sweet and adorable and I really enjoyed the whole series, especially books 1 and 3. ❤️❤️❤️

Good ending to a good series. I'm so happy about Spencer and Andrew.

This book was way more emotional than the other 2. I really enjoyed it more. I liked the relationship development, the resolve of family issues and everything else.

A light, short and refreshing series. Recommended to all MM lovers.

And so I've come to the end of another fantastic series by N.R. Walker.

She writes some of my favorite characters and couples, and Spencer and Andrew can firmly be added to that list.

In this final installment, the story focuses on the dynamic of Spencer and Andrew's relationship. They truly open up to each other and lay an honest foundation for which their future can grow on. While they both still have fears, they encourage each other to share them so each man can comfort the other and help overcome those speed bumps.

I loved how each man not only loved the other, but truly cared for him. Andrew and Spencer were sweet and passionate in equal measure. And their banter and inside jokes....top notch!

However, I do have to say that this book lacked that extra zing that the previous two books had. It didn't feel like it had any momentum carrying the book forward...and frankly, I found myself distracted at times. Truth be told, this probably could have been trimmed down to a duet rather than a trilogy....or even one longer book.

But even with the slower feel to this book, it didn't slow down my love for Spencer and Andrew.

And that epilogue?! All you can do is clutch your heart and swoon for days. So perfect.

4.5 Loved-It-Stars!!💕💘 For the series in totality😍🤩. This was mainly one book broken into 3 parts and I loved the sweet friendship between Spencer and Andrew when it all started.. the growing connection that became undeniable as days went on when they were on a "pretend" relationship.. how the relationship then became real.. and so so so hot and steamy.. and from there started their emotional journey to a better future.. Their love story was truly beautiful and yet so simple.. 😍💞. Highly recommended to all romance lovers!! 👍👍

**** Hallelujah, Hallelujah... **** Spencer Cohen book 3 !!
It's a "perfect" series ! I loved this storyline !

Yanni is safe, and rebuilding his life, while amazing Spencer, and wonderful Andrew were settling into their comfort zones. So happy and content with each other, yet very excited and thrilled to be together. Spencer has agreed to

work with Andrew's Mom's charity for LGBT youth. Feelings are solidifying and life is good.

The role music played in this story is powerful !!!

A phone call from Australia sent Spencer's mind reeling.
With Andrew at his side, they visited and some things were sorted out.
A new charity for LGBT youth in Sydney will be run by Spencer's brother. I liked that therapy was given compliments, and lauded.
Spencer is an amazing character and

Andrew is awesome for Spencer;
as they fill in the gaps for each other's souls. It's a beautiful flowing story of these men finally finding the missing link in their lives; the completeness and unconditional love they provide for one another.

This whole series is magnificent in so many ways. It's fun, snarky and witty, with just the "perfect" amount of everything.
We get deep, emotional, soul searing, caring and true love ... "At Last" !!
I highly recommend this amazing series ! ENJOY !!!

Loved, loved, loved it! My favorite of the three. Maybe it was because their relationship has matured.
"He thrust into me slowly, filling me, stretching me, and I watched every emotion flicker in his eyes. And just like that, we made love. The slowest of movements, the gentlest of touches, the softest, sweetest kisses. He filled me so completely. The most perfect jigsaw puzzle, the missing piece of me."~Spencer

Maybe it was Spencer finally being able to say the words he felt in his heart.
"I love you."

Maybe it was because Andrew stood by Spencer in his sad times.
"He kissed me so tenderly, then held me so tight. I wanted to crawl inside him, I wanted him to never let me go. He held me in such a way that I could feel him healing the hurt inside me. I was so confused, lost and heartbroken. He kissed the side of my head. “I’m not going anywhere.”

Maybe it was because it had a great epilogue that made me cry. Or maybe it was just because it was funny, sweet and beautiful, romantic and swoon-worthy. I don't know...but I loved it.
"He was so fucking perfect. Unbelievably gorgeous, kind, intelligent, and funny. If I were to believe that souls were split in two and we needed to search out our soulmate, then I’d found him. He was the very missing half of me."~Spencer

During the first half, I wondered whether my heart really was made of ice.
description

The first half was all sunshine and roses. Spencer and Andrew were fawning over each other constantly, there was one cutesy scene after another, and every secondary character felt the need to comment on just how perfect Spencer and Andrew were for each other.

I like fluff, but I prefer not to be drowned in sugar syrup.

I enjoyed the second half much more, and it made up for the drudgery of the first. There was some conflict, and some closure for Spencer with his family. Plus, Spencer and Andrew looked beyond their rose-tinted glasses and addressed some of the bumps in their relationship.

The second half deals with some fairly serious issues, but I'd say the story became a tad bittersweet as opposed to angsty. The low-angst feel of the book remained, but without being cloying.

I'm just not sure whether dividing up the story into three books worked, when it could have easily been told in one. Books 2 and 3 had too much filler for my liking.

By the end, I enjoyed this third book enough to give it 3 stars. The first book in the Spencer Cohen series remains my favourite of the series.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*A sweet ending*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

We're back with professional fake boyfriend, Spencer Cohen (25?) and visual animator who works for DreamWorks, Andrew Landon (26) and their final chapter. It was cute and sweet, but again, I was waiting for something. Of what, I don't know, but there was something missing. Overall, I'm glad to be done, but it was a nice addition to the series, and I do adore Spencer's ‘true’ family.
“You are perfect.”
He shook his head. “No, I’m not.”
“For me. You’re perfect for me.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Contemporary Romance (M/M)
Series: - Series, Book Three.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Spencer Cohen.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Sure.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Sure.
Will I read this again in the future? - No.

Once again, N.R. Walker proves she can take a storyline with little to no conflict and still create situations that tug at your heartstrings. Hard. Beware - there is a scene in this that I found very sad, and coupled with Joel's performance, had me outright bawling.

Spencer and Andrew go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly...like Vegemite and toast....like Pavlova and cream. They complement each other so well, and I love how Andrew is a rock for Spencer through some pretty rough moments.

I love how much Joel Leslie seems to enjoy performing these characters. His seamless transition between accents, the easily distinguishable character voices, it all comes together to provide a wonderful listening experience. I finished it in one sitting because I could just not bear to put it down.

If I could change anything I really wish this hadn't been broken up into three parts. Especially with the audio, I wish the three parts had been put together as one long book.

I've enjoyed listening to The Spencer Cohen series so much. I would absolutely recommend you buy them (and listen to them together)!

More angsty than the previous two books (which were as fluffy as a goose down duvet), but much more enjoyable for me as a reader.

I’m not sure why I put this series off for so long. I read the first book long ago and while I liked it, I didn’t love it. It was nice. That’s it.

This one had more up and downs and worked better. You still have the “they’re so perfect for each other” thing to deal with, but here it’s more manageable.

Coming up soon: Yanni's Story...now this won’t won’t be a cliffhanger of fluff.

My rec? It’s a fantastic feel good series with very little angst. Pull this out when that’s what you need!

So this is the last instalment of this series, one I thoroughly enjoyed.
In a way it feels like one long book, chopped into three pieces, as each book continues seamlessly where the previous one ended. It is easy and pleasant reading all along, and Spencer and Andrew will no doubt make you laugh and smile, and just feel really lovely and warm inside.

In this one we do get some drama, one on the health and one on the family side.
I must say I would have loved to get more detail on Spencer's family and see how a meeting with his parents might have turned out. It was lovely seeing Andrew and Spencer establishing their relationship and the way they support each other - well, I guess there was more supporting on Andrew's side.
I really loved Andrew's parents and the way they help, and also appreciated that Spencer's career changed in such a wonderful way.

The epilogue was just swoon-worthy, and I will remember to revisit Spencer and Andrew on a dark and dreary day when cheering up is on the menu!

Lovely romance, lovely characters, amazing author!

I really, really enjoyed this series, Spencer is such a sweetheart!

I liked the relationship between him and Andrew but I kind of wish the timeline had moved a little further along and we saw them more settled - maybe we see that in Yanni's story, but it would have been nice to see a bit more character growth.

I also really loved the side characters and the found family that Spencer became part of in LA.

The situation with Spencer's youngest brother had me crying my eyes out, so sad. I also would have liked to see more of him rebuilding his relationship with Lewis, but I liked that we did at least get to see them meet again.

I will get around to Yanni's story but I'm not really in the mood for more sadness right now!

The only word that keeps going through my head after finishing this book is "beautiful". The entire series is gorgeous. It's a beautiful story with beautiful characters. Book 3 had me blinking hard a couple of times fighting back tears. Happy tears. Heartwarming tears.

I found this book (this series) to be very emotional but also uplifting. Not only the main characters, but all the characters in the books were special. I'd love to be among their group of friends.

I liked this, but it’s my least favorite book in the series so far. The pacing feels weirdly off. Nothing much really happens in the first half except for Spencer and Andrew having lots of sex and hanging out with their friends. Then the second half picks up at a dizzying pace with a couple of crises that kick up the angst. Spencer gets seriously ill and almost dies. Then his estranged brother in Australia contacts him with some tragic family news. And throughout it all, Spencer continues to struggle with his fears about love. Finally, a super schmaltzy grand gesture by Andrew provides their HEA.

4 stars for the whole series
My advice : read all 3 books as if it’s only one.

Andrew, a shy and “proper” guy, had just broken up with Eli and meets with Spencer, a carefree and easy-going guy, whose job will be to pretend being Andrew’s new boyfriend to make Eli jealous and coming back to Andrew. All this scheme “backfires” as Andrew and Spencer can’t fight their attraction to each other.
The first book is all about anticipation, the second book about consumption and the third book, well …the conclusion of the journey. All the while, you come to appreciate the different facets of the "not so cocky" Spencer - who likes to make Andrew blushed but have his breath taken away by him – and the "not so shy" Andrew – whose unexpected bossy side is a real turn on for Spencer.

This is a sweet but very hot romance with 2 great and lovable characters who are two half of one piece finally put together. Add nice and supportive secondary characters. No angst, no drama, great banter, warm feelings. A pure delight in NR Walker style.

Recommended when in need of a very sexy, hot and warm read that leaves you with a goofy smile on your face.

This was a great 3rd act/conclusion. There is no angst here and I was glad for that. The two MCs connection kept growing and was great. After finishing the series, I wish we got to know Andrew a bit more, I mean where did his insecurities/ feeling of "unlovability" come from? It seems strange having read the whole series. Andrew was Spencer's rock in this one, which was great to see but I wish we had seen Spencer being Andrew's rock as well. The plot was great but I wish the big thing that happened at like 60% had happened sooner so that the resolution had more page time. I loved seeing their groups of friends meeting and their lives getting more integrated. Finally, I did not love the epilogue . Overall a very good series that I would highly recommend.
