This is a very gentle and sweet series, with moments of humor that I appreciate. I like it enough to recommend and continue with myself. I like the art, the storyline is cute and I want to see how it ends, though I can't keep some of the secondary characters straight, I think that is a me issue and not a book issue.
We are starting to see more of things from Kubo's POV and I am SO GLAD that she is not the type of MC h who is a goddess in the kitchen. All of those MC h's make me feel incredibly inferior, let me tell you. So Kubo and I would most definitely bond over feeling insecure in the kitchen.
3.5 stars, rounded down because after having read this a few weeks ago, not a lot has stuck with me. Again, that's probably more a "me" issue than a book issue. Three stars isn't a bad rating, I liked it and will continue with it.

The course of true love never did run smooth, especially in manga and when meddlesome big sisters get involved. Poor Kubo has a lot of obstacles on the path to what she wants, not least of which is Shiraishi’s deadly low self-esteem. He can’t even think of them as friends, let alone anything more, even though Kubo’s displaying more signs than a freeway on-ramp.
Combined with her aforementioned sister and somebody else who doesn’t feel like sharing her and Kubo has her work cut out for her, as we see this volume, where her big sis especially gets a wee bit drinky and makes things awkward to the point that Kubo very believably loses it. Such believable behaviour - this is classic sibling relationship meddling.
Kubo is the star of this story as she quietly flirts away and falls further and further down the emotional rabbit hole that is her and Shiraishi. I love the way they deal with a common trope when it comes to cooking - it satisfies the trope but does not turn it into something ongoing and does more with the characters as a result.
Kubo’s quiet joy at being with Shiraishi makes this so much more interesting than your typical story in this genre. Nobody has been this damn happy about matching pens before in the history of time. And Shiraishi has his moments too - there is one specific point where he’s actually drawn to match his age and it’s a lovely, subtle moment.
Toss in some fun female friend moments that pass the Bechdel test and some inappropriate, age-appropriate fan service and you get a really good stew made of the ingredients that keep this moving along at an above average level.

Oops! My library received the volumes out of order and I've accidentally read the next three in this series already. Time to backtrack.
A cute push through the Japanese romance tropes covers taking care of someone with a cold, sharing bento lunches, saying first names, cooking for someone, and cherry-blossom viewing with a picnic. The episodes go a little overboard in featuring the female lead's adoring cousin, but it's still a fine outing for warm and fuzzy feels from tentative and innocent romance.

Not as good as the last volume but plenty of cute moments. I really liked them going out as a picnic with the family. Very cute moments (The brother comment from the little brother is so cute, and he has a crush!) Overall solid cute fun. Not as strong as Danger in My Heart but nice cuteness to it like it.

3.5 stars! this one was a lot better. had some actual story to the chapters rather than a bunch of barely connected flirting skits.

This is such a really cute series.
Kubo and her family decide to have a picnic and by chance invite Shiraishi and his little brother when they run into each other at the grocery store. Nagisa wants to make hamburger steaks. (If memory serves correct, Shirasishi likes hamburger steaks).
I also like Kubo's friendship with the other girls. Their sleepover was funny.
Kubo's sister having too much to drink and insinuating that Shiraishi isn't her brother yet so he can't call her sister was alittle funny. I did feel bad that Kubo got upset by it. Seita is cute helping them resolve the issue.

I love this manga series. It's so precious. My only complaint is that sometimes I get confused on the siblings of Kubo. I feel like they keep multiplying! Lol. I recommend it because it makes me smile and feel good. I hope it keeps going a bit longer, I have no idea how many volumes this series is supposed to go.

This series is..so damn wholesome..I love these two. Though maybe it’s cause I just started and my sight isn’t great: but I keep getting kubo and her sibs mixed up cause I suck. But think that’s more of a me problem

It's almost imperceptible but they have gotten closer. He knows her family well now. Maybe this story doesn't need to be more than fluffy.

Still one of the best series that Shonen is putting out right now, every interaction between Kubo and the guy is great. I will say this one felt a lot more fillery than the previous two, not sure if that's because they were getting to close or the mangaka just decided that focusing on Kubo's family was more important.

Anyway, Akina manages to set up a flower viewing picnic for her, Nagisa, their younger cousin Saki, Shiraishi, an his little brother Seita. Which means Nagisa has to learn to cook (good thing she tricked Shiraishi into telling her his favorite food)

This is such a cute series. This girl I s a real cutie.
Our boi needs to wake up and realize she adores him. More so, she's in love with him. He just convinces himself that "she's just being nice". Wake up buddy! The cutest girl in school has a crush on you. Don't let her slip through your fingers!

This was a cute volume. We get to see more of Kubo and her family. The chapter with Kubo's older sister at the picnic was a bit out of place but overall this was a good volume. It just suffers from being very similar to several other series and it is not doing much to differentiate itself.
