Don’t buy/read if you’re looking for accurate information

I dnf’d this book. Some of the dates are way off and after verifying the dates—how could I trust the rest of the author’s research?

There’s no archaeological evidence for the Vikings wearing horned helmets (I’m referring to the two illustrations in the beginning depicting this).

On page 17, he mentions that the end of the Bronze Age ends around 12,000 BC in the Middle East and Mediterranean Europe. On page 18, he mentions that the Iron Age began between 12,000 BCE and 600 BCE. From what I’ve learned, the BA began in the Middle East around 3300 BCE and the Iron Age began approximately around 1200 BCE (it depends on where you’re looking geographically). Don’t take my word for it—look it up yourself. I couldn’t continue with the book based on those facts. I was looking for accurate information and sadly I didn’t get that.

Maybe the rest of the book is great—I didn’t take the risk. I just don’t have time for it.

Newbie

I have decided to look into my children’s beliefs of Paganism. I chose this book by the sample first. I wanted something that I could understand instead of asking more questions. Erik did a wonderful job on explaining things on the topic of the chapter. I will continue to follow him and his writing. Thank you Mr. Hansen.

Informative on the history and very basics of the religion. There are some grammar errors that occasionally make pacing stilted. Still a decent intro.
