Argumento:

Emma Livingston está en el purgatorio. Ha sido arrastrada a Las Vegas con su prima y sus terribles amigos para una despedida de soltera. Hasta ahora, ha pasado todo el tiempo soportando sus burlas y comentarios sarcásticos, escondiéndose en su habitación de hotel con su Kindle siempre que ha sido posible.

Luego se encuentra con Declan Mason. Declan, el héroe de su ciudad natal, el dios de la NFL, el chico del que siempre ha estado enamorada.

Cuando vuelven a encontrarse, ella no puede negar que la atracción sigue ahí. Cuando él parece estar tan interesado en ella como ella en él, parece demasiado bueno para ser verdad.

¿Emma confiará en que esta cosa entre ellos es real? ¿O sus dudas se interpondrán en el camino de su nueva relación?



Mi humilde opinión:

To Love & To Cherish es un romance a primera vista con un casamiento espontáneo en Las Vegas.

La lectura fue rápida y entretenida. Los protagonistas hacían una adorable pareja pero ... Dos cosas no pude pasar de ellos:

Emma tenía inseguridades y lo entendí. Lo que no entendí es por que seguía aguantando, aún después de años, el bullyng de las chicas de su pueblo. No me gustaba que se dejara pisotear constantemente. Quería verla tomar fuerza y defenderse, no huir y ponerse al borde las lágrimas cuando le decían palabras hirientes. Ella se defiende una vez y luego es Declan quien finalmente les deja las cosas claras al grupo de brujas malas porque ella seguía escuchando sin decir nada. Yo me preguntaba si no seguían en la secundaria porque me ellas me parecían taaaan infantiles!

Declan era increible y me encantó verlo conquistar a Emma. La alentaba, daba seguridad y confianza y me encantó que fuera protector con ella. Lo que no me cayó bien es que se dejó manosear varías veces por mujeres, Fue testigo de la maldad de las 'chicas malas' y me sorprendió que nunca les dijera nada. Vio cómo trataban groseramente a una camarera y lo arregló con una nota y propina.

En general me pareció un insta dulce y sexy para San Valentín. Tranquilo y con el mínimo de drama y un final feliz con no uno, sino dos epilogos años después.

First, I realize this is a novella - short and simple. BUT I wish it had been a full length book, because I really liked the trope and of course Emma and Declan. Oh, I can just imagine how much better it would have been if the story had been allowed to develop in a more natural timeline and not as rushed. Regardless, it was a quick and fun little read

These Vegas quickies are wonderful. Goes to prove that love can endure. Once Declan spotted Emma he was a goner. I loved how even though they were from the same town, they didn’t really know each other.

This was a book I believe I got free that had been sitting on my kindle a while that I decided to pick up last month as it was so short & I was in a slump.

For me this one didn’t hit. I am genuinely a fan of instant love but for me personally this one was done in too short a time. More so because I didn’t feel I could connect to the story or characters due to the superficial level of the story.

I did like the plus size rep though & the inner thoughts of Emma felt very real and relatable having had many of them myself before.

Not a book that I would say was bad, it just didn’t work out for me.
