In Overcoming Every Problem, Meyer shows the reader where to find answers to every problem in 40 promises from God’s Word. She identifies God’s promises and if we study them, we can better apply them to our everyday lives.

I like how this book is organized, with each chapter magnifying things God’s Word provides—such as truth, healing, wisdom, hope, light, strength, and so much more. The way it is laid out, you can focus on a chapter at a time, rather than reading the entire book at once. You don’t necessarily have to read the chapters in order. You can locate a subject you’re interested in or struggling with and set your attention on that.

I also find Meyer’s personal story inspiring. She has overcome many problems such as sexual and emotional abuse, by spending time studying the Bible and applying what she learns and sharing it with others.

First Line: God’s Word, the Bible, has helped me overcome many problems and has changed my life and the lives of millions of other people.

I've read many of Meyer's books, and I always feel more encouraged after doing so. This is no exception. Her latest book is a reminder that God has something to tell us in every situation we encounter. I like how you can go through this book in any order, addressing the problems that fit your life at the time. I also like infuses her experience with various Bible verses (some listed in full and some not). Chapters are short and easy to fit into a busy schedule. Overall, this book is an encouragement to study, meditate, and obey God's Word.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn't required to leave a positive review.

Joyce Meyer's latest writing Overcoming Every Problem is a devotional reminder that the Bible has plenty of answers and encouragement for whatever situation a Christian may be facing.
One of the good things about this format of writing is that even though the author gives some Bible verses in the chapter, many of the verses are just listed and not dragged out. Since the text is about getting into the reading of the Bible daily, Meyer sometimes just gives the Bible verses and leaves it, so the reader has to go and read them themselves, as opposed to having numerous lengthy verses on the pages. With the chapters short in length, again, it can be read one section at a time for those that want to dwell on the points made.

It is no secret I am a Joyce Meyer fan. Joyce says it as it is and this book is no exception.

Overcoming Every Problem offers 40 promises from God's Word to strengthen you through life's greatest challenges. The Word teaches truth, healing, deliverance, wisdom, success, creates, upholds, cleanses and purifies to list a few.

Having been a serious Christ-follower since 1992 I have found these promises throughout the Word and Joyce superbly indexes them and explains in the best way to her readers.

Highly recommend to the seasoned disciple and the truth-seeker.

In Overcoming Every Problem, Joyce Meyer teaches readers how they can also overcome every problem that they may face in life. The book covered 40 promises that is meant to help strength us in our walk with God. She shared how the Bible has changed her life and she has studied it for over 40 years. She explained how critical it is to study and apply what we are reading to our daily lives. Jesus died where we can have the abundant life and He will can give us blessings. She opened up about how she had dysfunctional behaviors that stemmed from being sexually abused from her father. Her mother knew about the abuse and chose to ignore it and not rock the boat. Joyce explained how she found healing and was able to even provide them with forgiveness. She begins the book by stating how Jesus is the truth and satan has come to deceive us. When we know what the Word says, then we aren’t as easily fooled by untruths.

One of my favorite promises was on how we are all born again because of what Christ did for us. We are a new creature in Christ and old things have passed away and we will become brand new. She shared a testimony that she heard of a woman who lost her mother when she was born. Her father thought it would be good for her to connect with other women so he sent her to a convent school for girls. There she was abused by religious figures. She was kept in dark places, beaten, sexually abused, was made to go hungry. If she did get food, she was given laxatives and then beaten if she had to go to the bathroom. She hated Christians and God. She was an alcoholic and became addicted to heroin. She felt empty inside and married a man where she would feel that someone loved her. She finally cried out to God and was saved and they are both pastors now. This was an excellent example of restoration and being born again. We tend to try to fill the empty void by looking for fame, money, possessions, love in the wrong places, and anything else. Many times, we have to hit rock bottom before we turn to God. We can find peace and comfort in Jesus and receive His mercy.

I would recommend this prevailing book to anyone who is needing an outstanding resource to assist them in overcoming every promise that they may encounter in life. I also loved how she discussed the power of praying for our enemies especially when they mistreat us. This provides an open door for God to work in their lives. This can give us incredible peace and help us to release the problem to Him and let Him work on them. Our essential part is to pray and let God take control. It was very inspiring to read about how Joyce did this for her dad for years and years until when he was 80 years old. He asked her for her forgiveness and they helped lead him into salvation. I greatly enjoyed how she broke down 40 promises that will change reader’s lives if they choose to read and follow the truths found in the Word of God. Each day contained a main verse, a short teaching, and a special highlight that we can focus on. I believe this book would be a wonderful resource to use daily for 40 days or even weeks where readers can dig deeper until the promises and live them out daily. This book is one to be reread again and again.

This is not your fluffy book on Bible promises suggesting you will live happily ever after when you claim them. The promises Meyer explores may surprise some, such as the promise of persecution or the promise to learn how to discern God's will or the promise to help us see the error of our ways and turn to God. Meyer notes that God did not get her out of a painful situation as a child but gave her the strength and grace to get through it and ultimately help others. Those are the kinds of promises you'll find explored in this book. They are ones that help us trust God when we do not understand what He is doing.

Meyer emphasizes the Word, that we need to study it, meditate on it and make the truths it contains a part of our very being. She includes great teaching on each Bible passage and what is promised. She explains what favor, discernment, wisdom, grace and mercy are, for example. She clarifies that prosperity is not simply about money. It really means well-being, flourishing. It includes being content where God has placed us. Success, she writes, is knowing God and having an intimate relationship with Him, embracing the unique person God has designed us to be.

God promises us joy and peace and hope but Meyer does not want us to just claim such promises and go on our way. We have a part in actually seeing those kinds of promises become a reality in our lives. Incorporating the Word into our being and living into Bible truth is what will bring about what God has promised. God's Word is best and most trustworthy guide for life, Meyer writes. Read it, study it, meditate on it, obey it.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." and Overcoming Every Problem by Joyce Meyer helps readers answer the questions from scripture. This book includes 40 promises to help strengthen and encourage you through some of life's greatest challenges.

One of the things that I've been taught over the years from the pulpit and in my theology classes is that God is not the god of confusion. His Word brings peace. This is only one of the 40 chapters in this book. For example, chapter one is that God's Word teaches truth. The author uses scripture in both the Old and New Testaments to show where God's Word is truth. Each chapter is about 4 or 5 pages long which makes this a great book for a daily or weekly devotional. You could read a chapter a day and spend some time meditating on it or you could study through a chapter a week by really diving into the verses that are shared for each topic. Either way, this book is a good way to get further information on some of the promises that God has for His children.

This book is a good one for believers and non-believers, who are questioning the Bible. It's easy to understand and not full of church-y jargon. I find Joyce Meyer to be easy to read and scripturally sound. I think that it would be helpful to read this book with your Bible there to get multiple translations for a clearer understanding, however, saying that, there are multiple translations used in this book, with the New International Version (NIV) being used the most.

I once heard a preacher say that everyone is either in the midst of a problem, coming out of a problem or headed into a problem. I imagine Joyce Meyer could agree with that statement. Her latest book, Overcoming Every Problem, shares Bible promises that relate to forty problems that Christians might face as they walk with God.

In Overcoming Every Problem, Meyer offers advice from the Bible on healing from hurts that others inflicted on you, healing from physical illness or injury, facing fear, healing from a negative mindset, and many more problems. I am not sure this book covers EVERY problem, but it does cover a good share of the ones most Christians face. I like that Meyer draws from the Bible and she also shares honestly from her own experiences. Meyer is so easy to relate to and understand. Overcoming Every Problem would be an especially good book for a new Christian as they start the Christian walk. I have heard Joyce share some of this information before in her other books, but it is always good to think about it again. She is insightful and down-to-earth in all of the advice she offers.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.

This nonfiction book is divided into forty short chapters covering physical, mental and spiritual situations. Joyce Meyer takes the reader through forty promises with Bible text references (some written, some listed), which provides wisdom for facing challenges or difficulties that might come the reader's way. Highlighted is the importance of reading, studying, meditating and obeying God's Word. Included are a Table of Content, Conclusion and Notes.

I feel the last paragraph on page 203, in the Conclusion, summarizes the book:

“God’s word is the best and most trustworthy guide for life. It will never fail you. As you read it, study it, meditate on it, and obey it, you will find hope for every situation, answers for every question, and overcoming power for every problem.”

For myself, I feel I have benefited from reading this book. The Bible references I've looked up have supported the promises. Some I knew and some are new to me. This is the second Joyce Meyer's book I have read. It is a well written, well referenced nonfiction book, which will encourage and inspire the reader to trust God in challenging situations.

There's nothing more one can say after reading this piece from Joyce Meyer other than, "Praise God" and "Give God the Glory."
Look we all know life throws curves and this is a great lil audio that was full of thoughtful devotions and prayers to get us through our day.
Take life one day at a time. Use the rocks thrown to build the bridge to greatness. Never give up and stand firm in faith and knowledge that God is with you and God loves you.
We cannot depend on others for our happiness. We must invest in ourselves and seek redemption and praise through him all things were made.
If God Is For Us Who Can Be Against Us?
You know the truth is there in the actions not the words.
God wants us to be a success so stop rehashing the past and get working on the present and the future self.

I loved every chapter of this book. I think every preteen, young adult, and woman should read this book at least once. I know I’ll be reading it again sometime in the future! The author uses scripture and her own personal wisdom (scripture based) to outline 40 different promises of God and how we can actively apply them in every day life. She emphasizes the importance of meditating and reading God’s word, not just manipulating it to fit our own needs. Great book! I’m planning to read more from this author.

The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because it felt slightly repetitive at times, but that means I probably needed to hear the message more than once!

What can I say about this book that doesn't apply to all of Joyce Meyer's other books as well?!! I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and found myself going back and reading chapters over again! I absolutely love the way she writes all of her books so that they not only encourage everyone, but they give excellent advice and answers for anyone with questions about things they are going the. I encourage everyone to read this book and all of her other books even if you're not going through anything because they all give such great encouragement and blessings!!

I picked up this book when I was going through the roughest patch of my life thus far, and also because I was craving a better understanding of what God truly promises in His Word. I treated this book as a devotional because Joyce (the author) literally gives Scripture according to the promise being discussed. Highly recommend for anyone in my shoes or even who are new to being a Christ-follower. Joyce is relatable and practical in the best of ways.

In all honesty, I am not a huge fan of Joyce Meyer, but I think this book has well-meaning intentions. Overcoming every problem is a practical application book with techniques one can use for challenging lots of circumstances. It does strengthen and encourage readers, but I felt some of the ideas were a bit too simplistic or unhelpful for my liking.

Wow Praise for the book “Overcoming Every Problem” by Joyce Meyer.
It’s certainly is a good book for both meditating and hand book reference for reading and searching for answers.
Of course there are many more Biblical verses (besides these 40 promises) for daily meditation and in getting answers to our problems.
