"...wonderfully naughty and absolutely delicious..." - Reader reviewTake one blonde, curvy, smart-mouthed celebrity chef. Mix with one tall, dark, dirty-talking blue-jeans cowboy. Sprinkle with a pinch of matchmaking grandma. Let simmer and serve with a steaming hot HEA.
Celebrity chef Summer Snowberry returns to Snowberry Springs to save the floundering Yummy Cowboy Diner. Secretly, she's determined to redeem herself from a humiliating setback in the big city by giving The Yummy Cowboy a complete makeover. If it succeeds, she'll be able to pay off her debts and make a fresh start in San Francisco. She's not only going to help revive the dying small town, but even better, she'll take on the diner's cocky, handsome owner, prove him wrong, and make his place the hottest eatery around.
Should be easy for a professional like Summer but from the very start, she's butting heads with her bull-headed nemesis. Even worse, she struggles to resist the sparks flying between them from each clash of wills.
Brock Michaels grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in Snowberry Springs. He's spent years working his butt off for his very own restaurant. He can't pass up the chance of a lifetime when his elderly business partner offers to turn over her share of The Yummy Cowboy Diner to him... if he agrees to work with her annoying but gorgeous granddaughter Summer for three months to revamp his operation.
Brock grits his teeth and tells himself that he can control his attraction to Summer's lush curves and foil her high-falutin' ideas for his homestyle diner. He's determined to come out on top when the ninety days are up. And he sure as heck isn't losing his heart to the woman who's declared that she's heading back to San Francisco soon. Right?
Yummy Cowboy is a standalone slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance with a guaranteed HEA. It's the first book in a new series about Snowberry Springs, a small Montana town on the brink of a great reawakening.
Ophelia Sexton is an author of paranormal romance. She has previously published historical romance under a different name, but has always loved reading about were-creatures, vampires, and other supernatural beings. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I really like this author's Bearpaw Ridge series, so was excited to try this one. It wasn't long before I was throwing in the towel on this one. I didn't care for Summer. She's making it seem like she's doing the family a favor by staying for the summer, when really something is going on in her life and she is hiding. She then proceeds to be cruel in her critique of the dinner, to the guy she crushed on in high school, but didn't give her the time of day. Brock wasn't much better, he was seething hearing what Summer said, even as he knew she was right. Then there was Grandma, who I think was supposed to come off as benevolent and keeping the town going, but kind game off as you do what I want or I'll find someone who will. This doesn't even touch the sister who's getting rolled over with her dream house renovating show, from the house that was picked to the wedding dress and going to it. There is no way in hell that wedding is going to happen. All of these people drive me nuts that I don't really care how things come out for them. This one just isn't for me.
I absolutely loved the start to this new series by Ophelia❣️Yummy Cowboy features Summer, a well known chef in her own right who comes back to Snowberry to cater for her grandfather’s funeral. Her grandmother asks her for help with a local diner called Yummy Cowboy and this is where she discovers Brock, the one who broke her heart in high school, now runs the diner😳
Suffice to say, the grandmother challenges them to work together for three months and ensure the diner is a success before they each go their respective ways…but both are stubborn and this creates friction and chemistry between them😉
I’m excited for this new series and I can’t wait for Winnie’s story next😁 I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️
A second chance, enemies to lovers. Summer is a trained chef with an award-winning restaurant in San Francisco but all is not as it seems in her life.
She returns to Snowberry Springs, Montana to attend her grandfather’s funeral. Being able to cook felt like a tribute to the man who had generously sent her to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, California.
Brock grew up in the Yummy Cowboy Diner owned by his mother, when she died, he took it over, pouring all of his hard earned time and energy to make it successful. The two harbour secret feelings, a shared past, chemistry…and resentment. Brock and Summer may be polar opposites, but both share a passion for cooking. He learnt by watching his mother cook and is working toward fully owning the diner. Summer had advantages that he was never afforded.
Her life in San Francisco had been in catastrophe-mode when she got word that her beloved Grandpa Frank was hospitalised. In retrospect, she should have dropped everything and rushed home, but she’d been holding on to hope to avert the disaster.
Summer owed her grandmother a debt of gratitude that she could never fully repay. Without her generosity, Summer could have never set out on the path that had led to her owning her very own restaurant, SummerTime. It had been a dream come true… until last month, when her business partner Gregory Brandywine had emptied the restaurant’s bank account and vanished. His theft had forced Summer to cover the week’s payroll from her personal funds. She’d filed a complaint with the police, but she didn’t have the funds to hire a private detective, not with all of her other debts. Summer wasn’t willing to admit defeat, she’d invested too much to simply walk away from SummerTime. She knew her restaurant could turn a profit. All she needed was enough money to pay her staff and suppliers to re-launch it.
She’d had the presence of mind to keep paying the rent, but closed the restaurant as she tried to find a way to refinance its reopening. The official story was SummerTime was undergoing a major renovation. Of course, everyone in San Francisco’s restaurant community knew the real story.
Shortly after, her grandmother has a heart attack and her father requested she help his mother. Her grandmother makes Brock an offer, making it virtually impossible to refuse. “If you’re willing to reconsider your opposition to having Summer help you make the diner profitable, and if some additional conditions are met, then I’ll forgive the mortgage and all of the diner’s outstanding business loans.”
He’d inherited all of his mother’s debts along with the business, and they’d only grown over the past year as he struggled to run the place.
“What conditions?”
“I’m willing to give you and Summer each a fifty percent stake in the diner, debt-free, if you agree to the following conditions: first, the two of you have to work together while Summer is in town, and you split the profits evenly. Second, the diner must be operating with a minimum five percent profit margin by September fifteenth. Third, if either of you ever quit this project, you must sell your stake to the other partner. You can’t bring in any outsiders. Now, how does that sound? Can you bring yourself to work with my granddaughter for ninety days?”
Her grandmother outlines terms for the proposed partnership, with generous benefits. She didn’t want another business partner, not after Greg’s betrayal, but this offer was too good to refuse. Not with SummerTime’s fate hanging in the balance. If she could make The Yummy Cowboy Diner a success, then Brock or her grandmother could potentially buy her out. She could then return to the city and reopen SummerTime. Her grandmother had just unknowingly thrown Summer a lifeline. This couldn’t have come at a better time.
Having her at the diner for the summer to help him get it up to the dining standards of his investor, her grandmother, is unwelcome. Summer is more than willing to help out, unlike Brock who’s resentful of her input and derision. They agree to be partners for three months to make it profitable.
This book has elements of - poignancy, renewed friendships, real life issues, flawed characters. Her grandmother, the matriarch in the family reacted unreasonably to a situation that was beyond Summer’s control. She suppressed the truth, not explaining the dire straits of her namesake.

This book has everything I like best in an enemies to lovers romance. Two characters that spout a lot of snark while harbouring a secret crush and attraction for the other. There are also secrets neither are willing to share and a whole host of quirky characters who like to meddle, give unwanted advice and stir things up. All of these elements make this book funny, entertaining and unputdownable.
Brock and Summer may be from opposite sides of the tracks, as they say, but both share a passion for cooking. She attended Culinary Institute of America and has her own successful restaurant. He learned on the job and watching his mother cook and is working to own the diner outright. In other words, she had advantages that he was never given. Having her come into the diner for the summer to help him get the it up to the fine dining standards that his investor, her grandmother, wants is a nightmare for him. Summer came back to attend her grandfather’s funeral, but she is in no rush to return to San Diego and her own restaurant. She is more than willing to help out at the diner and give Brock some tips, all the while dealing with his resentment and fielding questions about how she can be here and run her restaurant too. She has a secret she definitely doesn’t want to share and the close proximity to Brock is messing with her emotions. Their chemistry is as sizzling hot as the kitchen grill. You will definitely want to read this delightful book to discover what happens next.

This is a second chance, enemies to lovers with a side of secrets swoony tale. Summer is a trained chef with an awarding winning restaurant in San Francisco. She returns to small town Snowberry Springs to attend her grandfather’s funeral and to help her family but all is not as peachy as it seems in her life. Brock grew up in the Yummy Cowboy Diner and took it over when his mother died last year. He gives everything he has to make the diner successful but is still struggling. There is lots of chemistry between Brock and Summer but also lots of animosity. When they agree to be partners in the diner for three months in order to make it profitable, their roller coaster ride to their HEA begins in earnest. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. This book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, strong friendships, steamy encounters, real life issues, imperfect characters, chuckles, painful pasts, and all the love. I am looking forward to reading more stories from Snowberry Springs. I willingly reviewed an early copy of this book.
I've read other series by this author and loved them, and this new book will hopefully be the beginning of a great new series. Brock is the Hometown boy who worked hard and now owns, runs & is the chef of The Yummy Cowboy, a diner. It's fallen on hard times now enters Summer, the Hometown girl who went away to school & become a big name chef with a fabulous restaurant of her own. Circumstances bring them together to make the diner profitable. There is a back story with them that makes working together a battle but eventually, though not without complications, they find out each is not what they seem. There are some sparks and plenty of heat, so if you are not comfortable with that, be warned. If you want a fun story with some great characters, then I would absolutely give this book a try! I received an ARC copy, but the opinions expressed are solely my own
It’s a quick and easy read. I did find that the MFC was a little on the irritating side (thinking her opinion is the only one that matters, trying to take over a business without actually having a conversation with the current owner) but it wasn’t bad enough that I couldn’t look past it. Ultimately it was trying to make drama in a book that didn’t involve actual danger (ie. MC or mafia romances) I think had there been a little more explanation about the characters backstory upfront it would have been better. It’s more wholesome romance with a little spice. There are explicitly scenes so if that’s not your style, I’d pass it over.
This book was downloaded as part of the Stuff Your Kindle Day. So I did not have to pay anything for it.
While up to now all the books I have read by Ophelia have been shifters this book doesn't lack from the fact it is mere humans. Both of these characters have baggage they hated one another at school or did they
Summer Snowberry is a renowned chef who owns her own business in San Francisco but she has returned to Snowberry Springs to cater her beloved grandfathers funeral This when her grandmother asks for her help to turn the local diner into a success The only problem is that the diner is owned and run by non other than Brock Michaels the boy from the wrong side of the tracks who broke her heart when she asked him to the school prom. These two throw sparks of one another from the start but both are keeping secrets can they learn to work together for the three months they have promised and can they maybe admit that they mean more to one another then they are letting on Be prepared for a sweet read that will have you dying to get back to Snowberry Springs for the next addition.
I understand the classic enemies to friends and then lovers trope, but the male protagonist has an anger problem and a chip on his shoulder. One that the author made magically disappear once they became sexually involved. Sex doesn't fix people's attitude problems in real life. Whether you dislike a woman or you can barely keep it in your pants, it's just unacceptable to speak to anyone in that tone or manner and then say you have good feelings for them in the next sentence. The worst part was chapter 14/15... lust clouding everything. Although he stood up for her in the end, I couldn't believe in the longevity of their love because old habits die hard.
Yummy Cowboy (Snowberry Springs Ranch #1) is a well-written romance set in Snowberry Springs. The characters are well-developed and relatable.
Summer is a trained chef, and her restaurant is closed because... well, you'll have to read the book ;)
She goes back to her hometown for her grandfather's funeral, but decides to stay for a few weeks. Those few weeks turn into the rest of the summer. Summer's grandmother all but forces Brock and Summer together. They liked each other in high school but never acted on their feelings, as Summer thought Brock hated her. They have to get over their differences to make Brock's diner successful after it was poorly managed.
Summer Snowberry is a celebrity chef who owns a high priced restaurant in San Fran. When her grandfather passes she comes home at the request of her Grandma Abigail. While she is at home she keeps a real dark secret to her heart hoping that she could work it out on her own. The Yummy Cowboy Diner is run by Brock Michaels, who took over when his mother died. Grandma Abigail helped in by giving him a loan to keep the diner running. It was always in the the red. During Abigail's recovery of a heart attack, she proposes a deal to Brock and Summer about the diner. They both accept and watch how their relationship develops. The story was good and worth reading.
These two have history. He has had a crush on her since school but did not think he was good enough for her. She actually asked him out in school and he turned her down. Now they are adults and she is a chef and he is a cook and owns a diner. Her grandmother wants her to help him with the diner and gives them both a option they cannot turn down. Can they go from hating each other to working together? Loved the story and characters.

Not gonna lie, I love absolutely everything Ophelia Sexton writes. The characters suck me in immediately. Their stubbornness battling the chemistry in the best possible way. Both characters were so well rounded, like people I could imagine knowing in my own small town. You pull for these two to make peace and for their restaurant blow the town out of the water. I love Brocks sentimental love of family so flippin' much! And the best of al... HEEAAATTT! Holy 0rg@$m batman!
Ophelia never fails! Now I'm dying for the next :)
This is the start of a new series by Ophelia Sexton and promises more great reading. It is a tale of a chef returning home and second chances, of working together and laughing in the process. Sexy romance and playful antics. Possibilities and teasing views of upcoming stars of future books in the series. Family and more. Bravo.

Jess from New Girl discovers dirty talk smut. No joke, their pet names for each other IN AND OUT OF THE BEDROOM are Mr. Grumpy pants and Ms. Fancy pants 🤮🤮🤮🤮. The characters start out legit hating each other's guts and then can't wait to get up in them. I am now suffering from whiplash. The ass on the FMC is a literal circle as the author pointed out 15 times and if I have to read that she giggled during an intimate scene one more time, I'm going to claw my eyes out.
This story is going to be an amazing romance series. The characters are relatable and Ophelia Sexton delivers again. This romance is a great story and is very well written. Small town romance between Summer and Brock with a past history. A enemies to lovers romance that I highly recommend and can not wait until the next in the series is released. Couldn't put it down.
This was a very fun book that I absolutely loved. I've had several stressful days this week, but this book was one that really helped me relax and take my mind off everything. Summer and Brock were very cute together, and I had a lot of fun reading about them. I was also happy with their HEA.

Another wonderfully naughty and absolutely delicious modern day romance story from the talented author Ophelia Sexton. Her books are always a satisfying read packed with humor and Romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.
Five stars does not do this book justice If I gave it ten stars that still would not be enough. Yes, it is that good. This book is one you must read. Exciting. I have already read it twice and I will read it again as soon as review is done. I was given a arc for a honest review..
I really enjoyed this book! What's not to like? Cowboy - tick Food - tick Old School love interest, which never materialised - tick Coming home - tick Saucy, sexy scenes - tick Yep, I really enjoyed this book!!
An entertaining romp through the kitchen with these two. The chemistry is hot. Change can be for the better. Toss in nosy townsfolk, a meddling grandma and a disgruntled employee. This was a wonderfully funny start to the series. There is a little steam. Well written with great characters.
When two stubborn, bulkhead people are forced to work together, well, can we talk major FIREWORKS!? Love this start to the new series ... on to book 2!!
This is a quick read, enemies to lovers cute romance. I usually read a lot of dark spicy books so this was a nice light one. I’ll be reading the next one in the series in the future.
