A manga series set in the universe of the award-winning, post-apocalyptic action RPG NieR:Automata!
Of the sixteen YoRHa androids who landed on Earth to recapture it from the enemy machine lifeforms, only four have survived the descent. Command denies their request to have their mission canceled, however, leaving them stranded on Earth with no choice but to attempt to carry out an impossible mission. Immediately beset by the machines, the YoRHa units are saved by the appearance of another group of android survivors from a much earlier war. Though the older androids are suspicious of the newer ones, an uneasy alliance is forged. But this tenuous peace is about to be put to the test now that buried secrets are coming to light…
I don't know about this volume honestly, not a lot happened in it. Someone got possessed and then the outcome happened but aside from a bunch of talking the girls really did nothing. There was so off screen fighting and the team splitting up and a weird panel which might have been intended or not I honestly can't tell.
Bit confused with where this series is going, the lead just kept having random outbursts and whilst I get she wasn't born to lead. She isn't exactly learning and more often then not is taking orders from her subordinates. The lead does seem to be the other girl who's been trapped down there fighting all these robots for years. Though the problem with her is she looks nearly identical to the rest of her team so I kind of lose which one she is supposed to be.
I'm not hating on this series but I just think it needs a bit of a stronger direction and lead, if it wants to continue and be a long running series. I've never played Nier:Automata so I can't tell if this is following that storyline or not.
These volumes have been super fast and enjoyable reads. It’s cool to see other androids, different generations, and what their capabilities and functions are. The artwork is super clean and crisp. The dialogue is short and sweet. I’m excited to see where the plot/story goes. I’m sure it won’t be ending on a happy note.
A continuation of the Pearl Harbor descent from the game. Continues to add depth to the world and characters. I also realized it’s a recollection of the text portions of Automata, though instead of A2’s perspective, it’s that of 2B.

_ Непогане продовження, але без якихось надзвичайностей. Яскравий приклад проміжної частини хорошої серії, яка більше розкриває другорядних героїв і готує всіх до фінальної битви. Це якщо я правильно розумію і третій том буде завершальним😅
