Shop Social: Connect with the People + Products that Support Your Best Life

Rate this book
In today's world, a woman can be overwhelmed by the picture-perfect expectations put upon her by society and social media—people who don't know her, what she wants, or who she wants to be. Where do you turn when you know you want more, but your "more" doesn't look like everyone else's?

You can shop around for happiness and fulfillment, but the choices are many and the outcomes aren't clear. You don't know if anything you buy will do what you want it to do, and there are no guarantees. Consumerism is a costly, time-consuming, and ineffective solution for getting what you want.

Instead, you need clarity around what you want and intentionality in how you get it. And you need expert partners who have your best interests in mind—a circle—to support you in your transformation from consumer to investor in yourself, your home, and your family.

Shop Social goes beyond the traditional understanding of buying from friends and shows how building a microcommunity of people who know you and who are personally invested in your well-being can be a life-changing experience that saves time and money, while putting you in control of your own health, happiness, and fulfillment. It takes the struggle out of "what to do next" and puts you on a clear path to your best life.

*I first want to thank Goodreads for allowing me the opportunity to win this E-book in their Giveaway as well as the Author!*

I'll be honest, at first I thought that Shop Social was an actual Social Media Platform where you could find women entrepreneurs that sell their own products, but I was mistaken. This book is about building your own circle of Sellers who essentially have your best interest at heart, finding what products work for you rather than believing all the marketing tactics out there that promise results that aren't exactly realistic.
There are also parts in this book that are in the self-help category giving you information, asking you to write down answers to questions, quotes you could keep reading and overall information that is a good resource for you to see your habits, how you feel about yourself, your surroundings, etc.
I couldn't relate to every detail in this book because I don't have my own home, I live with my Grandparents, although that doesn't mean that I can't focus on my living space within the home, or go back to that part when I own this home. I also am not married nor have children, only my cat Marilla, so the Parenting/Spouse aspect is not of relation to my life as well, but again, that can change in the future.

Nonetheless, I still found this to be an E-book that I will Permanently Shelve, so I can go back to it, re-read it and do the questions asked as I know it would be beneficial.
Overall, this is a resource to help women recognize their worth, live with intentionality, and transform their buying habits which I do believe is good for women to read in this generation of digital marketing, etc.

Enjoyed reading this book by someone I know. Great personal insights and inspirational to women her age. I gave it one less star because I don't shop this way and didn't really apply to this stage of my life. Will look forward to Dana's next adventure in writing.
