A slow burn, friends to lovers, military romance from USA Today bestselling author Prescott Lane

All the best love stories are tragic. Ours is no different.

Lennon is the woman who should have always been mine. The one that I let slip through my fingers time and time again. I was young, stupid, and arrogant enough to think love would wait.

Being in the Marines has taught me patience. The enemy never strikes when you expect it. Love is the same way.

And falling in love with your best friend requires a special type of patience.

So when tragedy strikes, the only thing I can do is be what I’ve always been to her — her best friend.

I’ve learned everything has a cost — even love. Lennon has paid dearly.

But I’m not about to let tragedy steal our happily ever after.

📚 GOODBYE NEVER: 📚 Is a full length romance book by 'Prescott Lane'. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' Get ready to meet 'Duke and Lennon.'

A few chapters in and I already had that feeling that this was going to put me through the wringer. These two have been best friends from the day they were crawling, to the day they could talk and there on in, he was her knight in shining armor when kids would tease her in high school, due to her mother's fall from grace. To protecting her, looking out for her, always her rock through thick and thin, best friends sharing birthdays, sharing the good times and the bad times.

She knew at the age of fifteen that what she felt for Duke wasn't just a crush, her feelings delved much deeper, but she knew they weren't reciprocated.

He was always there..For her to land on...

Until his passion in life, serving his country took him miles away from her. They still managed to keep their friendship alive by writing to each other weekly.

This wrung all those slow burn emotional feels out of me, the push and full, like ships passing each other in the night, wrong timing, never quite getting the timing right, but when they did it was perfection.

I loved these two, from childhood besties to so much more. All the feels! Inhaled in no time at all. I loved this more than words can say.

This book was not for me one bit. I have been on a friends to lovers kick, and with the added military background I thought for sure this would be super angsty with all the unrequited feels and some amazing grovel, but noooooooo. I honestly just felt like bashing my head against the wall the entire time.

So here we have Duke and Lennon, who have been best friends their entire lives despite being very different both with their upbringing and their socioeconomic background. Their peers look down on Lennon because she doesn't have money, but Duke is always her knight in shining armor --- at least to her. They become closer and closer and as senior year is about to close and Duke enlists, Lennon realizes that she's going to lose her best friend the world and she doesn't know how to cope with that. After seeing him on her prom night (they are a year apart) they share a kiss that they have both been waiting forever for.. and then nothing. No communication, no expectations, nothing happened. And the next time Duke shows up in town he fools around with his ex girlfriend and then wonders WHY Lennon is so mad & hurt. UGH. Then there's the fact that Lennon is trying so hard to move on from the relationship that never was, but then ends up in an emotionally abusive marriage. In fact, the only reason why he married Lennon in the first place was because she wanted to wait until marriage to have sex -- he never truly appreciated her for who she was, he just wanted to claim some antiquated title.

Duke tries to fight his way back inside her heart, since made the epic mess of confessing his feelings for Lennon on THE NIGHT OF HER WEDDING, and when tragedy strikes, he tries to be there for her as much as she will allow. But it just seems the timing is never on their side.

look, I'm not trying to be mean here, but I just couldn't stand this book. I hated Duke with a passion, and I hated the fact that Lennon didn't see how she was being used by the two men in her life that claimed to love her. I wanted her to be stronger, I wanted her to see all the red flags in front of her face, but that never happened. So instead of this really emotional love story, I was just full of rage.

It looks like I'm in the minority here and that's just fine- no two people are going to experience the same book the same way, but I just had such high hopes here, so I'm so disappointed this didn't work out.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

I loved this story! It is an emotional, friends to lovers, slow burn romance that really had some twists and turns that made the story fresh and different. It kept me guessing what would happen next.

“Some loves last a lifetime, but they all end the same way—with a goodbye. Life is a series of goodbyes. Some are short. Some are long. Some hurt more than others. But there’s no way around it. Life is one long goodbye.”

Lennon and Duke were best friends their whole lives. Lennon has always known that she loves Duke as much more than a friend but her mom always told her “Never love a man more than he loves you.” and Duke has always kept her in the best friend zone.

Goodbye Never is one of those books that I didn’t want to put down from page one till the end.

“…love knows no goodbyes. Goodbye never—love forever…”

An emotional journey from best friends to lovers with a slow burn romance that totally made my heart melt more than a little but cracked so much more.

A story about grieving and acceptance. It also showed how to cope and begin to rebuild and heal. Lennon and Duke were best friends, went through a lot together and a lot of unsaid things later they came back to where everything started.

Their story was heavy on the feels for sure. There were so many things between the two best friends that left unsaid and unrequited feelings but their friendship never stopped no matter all the hardships they had to overcome.

A beautiful story that rocked with the emotion of the fight against these feelings that both the main characters tried to bury but couldn’t ignore. Lennon and Duke had a long way before finding their way back. I appreciated the dual POV without any filter or safe net, showing their struggles all the way. Of course there were some sad moments but there were so many beautiful ones and I was rooting for them.

Duke was a man of acts and words throughout his significant acts of bravery and devotion to his country but also assuming his choices and not afraid to fight, knowing that winning Lennon’s heart would be a tough battle. He totally won me over. Lennon was a fighter and not setting for less, being hurt made her tougher, also harsh on herself and losing faith.

A poignant and gripping story, so beautifully written!

I was so excited when I found out that Prescott Lane was realizing a new book. I have loved every book of hers that I have read. And once again she did not disappoint.

Lennon and Duke have been best friends since they were kids. He has always protected her and been there for her. Even when the kids at school were making fun of her, Duke was the one who was there to protect her. Lennon always knew her true feelings for Duke. She was in love with him, but Duke was a little slow to catch up with her regarding his feelings. After he graduated high school he left for the military to pursue his dreams, of serving his country. Over time Lennon knew she needs to get over Duke and accept that they were just friends. But when tragedy strikes, Duke is back to help her pick up all of the pieces.

Duke knew the Lennon was the one girl for him but I think in a way he thought he had all the times in the world. He wanted to pursue his dreams but pennons wasn't going to wait around forever, for him to finally realize he loved her. with everything she has been through duke wants to be there for her. He wants more than just a friendship but knows he needs to take it slow and not push her into anything. But the one thing Lennon's mom always told her was love a man who loves you more. and she was never sure if Duke loved her more, because for so long she her love for him was unrequited. Will they find their happy ever after?

I loved this book. Duke was the perfect best friend and when he finally woke up he was also the perfect lover/boyfriend. I think he always knew how he felt about Lennon but he wasn't ready for that love just yet. They were young and had so much of there life ahead of them. But at dome point he knows that he cannot lost her a second time. duke stepped up to the plate and proved just how much he loved her and that was everything.

Lennon was a perfect heroine. I wish she didn't listen so much to her mom's "advice" because I think that held her back in a way. I felt for her over and over again. I also felt her love for Duke. the friendship they had was special, bit when they crossed that line it was amazing. I loved watching these two find their way to each other and become more, become what was always meant to be. Another great job by Ms. Lane.

Was I suppose to be doing something else today instead of reading this book? Yes. Do I care? No. I didn’t even realize I needed this book as much as I did until I started reading it. It actually felt cathartic. I love books that have me fluctuating with emotions. Loss and even forgiveness are a big part of this telling.

Duke and Lennon have a friends to lovers story. Yikes saying that almost feels like I am diminishing the magnitude of their friendship. When your moms are best friends and you are raised together, how can it be anything but grand.

Our two main characters have an unrequited love which ping pongs back and forth between them. When you think one has moved on, something else happens, getting in the way of their HEA. EEKKK

Sooo yep, this couple has a bumpy journey, with several missteps. This story tackles grief in a big way. Yes I wept quite a few times. I mean. Full on UGLY CRY. Ugh. It was so worth it.

The surprise pregnancy and single parent troupe is done with creativity and uniqueness. I am not saying more cause you need to experience this book for yourself.

Happy Emotional Reading Everyone! XOXO

"Some loves last a lifetime, but they all end the same way—with a goodbye. Life is a series of goodbyes. Some are short. Some are long. Some hurt more than others. But there’s no way around it. Life is one long goodbye."

I'm in love! This was a truly beautiful story.
The best friends to lovers trope was very well executed.
The writing is really good, easy to lose yourself in and had me finishing this story in 1 sitting!

I came to absolutely LOVE these characters so much, so real and fast! A story romance that has you on the edge of your seat the entire time, because you're rooting for the characters sooooo much. It was a hard pill to swallow to see Lennon and Duke constantly have wrong timing, but it's also what makes this romance so well developed.

Duke is almost Too good to be true; goddamn! He definitely has his flaws, especially when he's younger he can be such a dumbass teenage boy for example, lol, but he's that kind of character you can forgive so easily because he makes up for his mistakes. He's the kind of character who goes to the edge and beyond for the ones he loves and that was sooo well written down. Him and Lennon had a lot of time to grow as characters on their own, but together as well and that was nicely executed I think. That bond of theirs is incredibly beautiful.

Lennon is also a character I came to admire a lot. She's not had it easy, she struggles a lot but without it becoming an irritation factor - which can sometimes happen with characters that have a lot happen to them I think.

This was dramatic without being overly dramatic.
This was emotional without being overly emotional.
This was just plain right addictive... from beginning till end!

A must read to anyone who loves a good emotional and unputdownable best friends to lovers romance story - with a little bit of military elements woven in between.

Holy cow did this one pull at my heart strings! This was an amazing emotional read that took me on a incredible journey. Lennon and Duke were childhood friends and had a great connection. They understood each other more than anyone every could. This book takes place though several years and tell the story of their up and down relationship. This is definitely a slow burn that’s worth the wait. This book is layered with a lot going on that makes for an amazingly detailed story. The characters are well developed and so well written. I enjoyed the quick paced writing style and the well told story. I loved Duke and his never ending devotion. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Duke knows he screwed up, keeping Lennon in the friend zone their whole lives, but the time has come for him to do something about it. Or is it the time? Lennon's suffered a loss perhaps not even her best friend can help her with, especially the best friend who left her all those years ago.

Lennon and Duke, moms who are best friends, and best friends themselves, but friends who've always had more than friendly feelings for each other. Lennon never did anything to potentially strain their friendship, and finally moved on from her unrequited feelings. But now that she's suffered a major loss, and Duke's back for hier. Is she willing to let Duke into her heart, knowing he could break it all over again, the way he did when he left her to enlist?

This one tugged on my heartstrings more than a little. There was so much pain and suffering going on, Lennon because she lost Chase, Duke because he was finally seeing what he had missed out on by putting Lennon in the friend zone, and knowing she moved on from him. But they were one of those couples you just knew were meant for each other, to be together, even if they had to overcome more than a few obstacles on the way. I loved them, loved their story, even though I shed more than a tear or two.

Title: Goodbye Never
Author: Prescott Lane
Hero/Heroine: Duke & Lennon
Trope: Friends to Lovers/Military Romance

TW/CW: Cancer, death of a parent, death of a partner, on page panic attack

THE GOOD 😀

Man alive, this book killed me! Every time I thought I knew where the story was heading, the author was like ‘ha nope!’ This was one friends to lovers romance that kept me on my toes.
Duke and Lennon have known each other practically their whole lives, as their Mom’s are best friends. Lennon, harbouring some pretty intense feelings for Duke, has convinced herself nothing will ever happen between them, especially now that Duke is heading off to the US Naval Academy.
The story jumps between various times in both Duke and Lennon’s lives, which I love, as it provided even more depth to their backstory.
Lennon was a pretty great heroine; having experienced a lot of loss, she remained strong throughout, determined to not give up on life. Duke, a constant throughout, was such a wonderful, supportive hero, although his timing at times was pretty terrible (IYKYK). He was living proof that absence really does make the heart grow fonder. There were so many will they won’t they moments, I thought my hands were going to seize up from clutching my kindle so tightly. This book also dealt with some pretty heavy topics such as death and grief, which were written really well and handled in a sensitive manner.
This being my first book I’ve read by this author, I will definitely be reading more of her back catalogue. Intense and incredibly heartbreaking, this was one friends to lovers romance I won’t be quick to forget.

THE BAD ☹️

There was a moment where I wanted to shake Lennon so hard and maybe slap some sense into her, but not going to say cos, you know, no spoilers.

Thank you to the author and @greyspromo for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

If you are in search of a romance that will touch your heart deeply, Goodbye Never by Prescott Lane is your answer. This second chance, friends to lovers, military romance will tug at every string of your heart.

Lennon and Duke have been friends forever. And Lennon always loved him. But after graduation, Duke starts his journey at the Naval Academy. And their love didn't get a chance. Years pass. The physical distance converts to mental distance. And Lennon moves on to another direction. Duke couldn't do anything. But when Lennon loses everything, he decides it's his time. He has to show her how much he loves her. At any cost. But Lennon is too deep in her grief.

I feel I am divided into two parts. For first part of the book, my heart was breaking for Lennon. And in second part, my heart was breaking for Duke. Lennon is a strong character. She is not perfect. She is real and relatable. She has seen a lot of difficulties from early life and she has a vulnerability, a deep seated insensitivity and feeling of inadequacy. But she is also kind and sweet and fiercely protective and a fighter. She was broken over and over again but she built herself again from ash. Duke is an amazing hero. Like any military hero, he has pride and honour and has an intense protective side. It was not easy for him but he made it look so easy. He has accepted that Lennon has a part that she will always remember and grieve. He has accepted and embraced that the new part of Lennon's life is really important and he has been so caring and supportive. They have a long journey with ups and downs. Lennon has been fragile and heartbroken and it took a lot from Duke to get into her shielded heart again. But they have this beautiful bond always that can withstand any trial. It was the sweetest of slow burn with raw feels. If you want a love story that's heavy on feels, Goodbye Never by Prescott Lane is a must read.

“Everyone’s heart beats differently depending on its size and shape. All any of us can do is try to find the heart that beats in time with ours.”

Oh. My. Wow! My first book by Prescott Lane blew me away! Goodbye Never is a spellbinding and stunning saga of soulmates and second chances that hits every feel. Centered on the depth of friendship and the power of lifetime love, this sweeping, heartfelt romance proves impossible to put down. I was rendered awestruck by a hero and heroine who owned my heart the whole time reading.

From its setting in my native Virginia to the hero who called to my military wife heart, this romance resonated with me. A coming of age, friends to lovers romance, Goodbye Never features two lifetime friends whose hearts finally fuse as one after a few fractures. Told through a formidable military hero and a strong and sweet heroine, this tale delves into the value of life and love, and the fragility of it all. I adored Lennon and Duke who were created for each other, their journey a fusion of fate and feels. I felt their deep chemistry and connection through the pages … inevitable.

I was possessed from beginning to end, reveling in this romance’s power. The Prologue nearly wrecked me, a taste of this tale that I knew I’d feel everywhere. Feel I did. This book buried itself into my heart where I felt its emotional pull, a paralyzing zap that surged straight to my soul, searing every part of me. A love story that shines, I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end. Goodbye never.

In ‘Goodbye Never’ we read the very emotional story of Duke and Lennon. Duke and Lennon have been born on the same day, one year apart. And ever since there mom’s met, and became best friends, they have been inseparable as well. They been through life together and have been each other’s rock for as long as they both can remember. As they grow older, Duke and Lennon grow closer and closer. But there has always been something, that kept them from crossing the line to lovers.

‘Goodbye Never’ was a very touching and emotional read. And it definitely kept me hooked right from the start. I loved that we meet Duke and Lennon when they were in there early teens, and we get to see them grow up together. When the get out of High School, life brings them to different places. But they never lose each other. And I was so in awe with that part of the book. I couldn’t get enough of these two.

The best thing about this book was definitely the slow burning romance. But almost just as amazing was the fact that this book kept me guessing until the very end. And I loved every moment. I loved feeling like I had known Duke and Lennon for years, and although this book definitely made me tear up at times, it made me smile much more.

‘Goodbye Never’ was an unputdownable read, with an amazing friendship, a slow burning romance and some heartbreaking moments. If you’re looking for a book that touches you.. This one is definitely for you.

This is a story that will hit you right in the feels and have your heart hurting right out the gate. Best friends, Lennon and Duke have always been in each other’s pockets but as they get older, feelings evolve. Both make the mistake of not saying anything which drives a slight wedge between them but their friendship is steadfast. Enter Chase who Lennon thought was the one she could move on with. When things happen and Lennon is left to cope, Duke wants to build that friendship back up but more importantly, win her heart. There are a lot of intense moments between these two. Guilt, pain, heartache. But I adored how Duke never waivered trying to support Lennon. This is a stunning best friends to lovers tale with a lot of emotion and I love Lane’s words so it was beyond amazing!

“Goodbye for now
“Goodbye never”

Goodbye Never is a best friend, military romance written by Prescott Lane. One of my favorite tropes. It was a beautifully written, emotional read. Lennon and Duke’s journey from childhood to adulthood was incredible. A slow burn, but worth it in the end. I loved the chemistry between Lennon and Duke. Perfect soul mates. All the feels!

Duke and Lennon have been best friends since they were babies, both of their mothers are best friends too. Duke was always by Lennon’s side, her protector, her rock. Lennon had so many obstacles in her life that my heart broke for her. Lennon secretly has had a crush on Duke she’s not willing to let it out, for fear of ruining their friendship. Duke was blind to it, I wanted to smack him so many times to wake up and see it.

As the years pass, their bond intensifies, and both support one another's endeavors. When they needed each other, they would do anything to be there for one another. Duke’s passion was to join the military, knowing he would be away from Lennon. They continued their friendship by writing weekly and phone calls. When tragedy strikes, Duke once again is by Lennon’s side as her best friend.

Their story deals with loss, grief, and healing. Lennon and Duke’s story spans several years, the ups, and downs of their relationship. Is it finally their time for love, or will fate rear its ugly head? Can they have the happily ever after one they both deserve?

Goodbye Never is a must-read! The epilogue was perfect I had a big smile on my face.

Oh man, Duke and Lennon gave us such a heartwrenching and emotional story. They're best friends since they were kids but once they grow up they start having feelings for each other. However, they never pursue anything past their friendship. But when Lennon's getting married, Duke definitely realised he doesn't want to let her go and it's time to own his feelings for her. But that backfired and Lennon's the one paying for his wrong timing. Seriously, I wanted to smack him for doing that when he had so much time to admit his feelings before. But after all those things, I want to see them getting together, like finally. Definitely a touching, heartbreaking story.

Lennon and Duke's story will break your heart, then put it all back together again. Their journey begins when the pair is in high school and fighting the labels that small minded people place on others. Lennon wasn't dealt a strong hand in life, but thanks to Duke and his family, she had a safety net -- until Duke screws it all up.

I thoroughly enjoyed how the book does a flip from the first half into the second. I saw a big part of myself in Lennon when she gives in on her principles with Chase. It's during this time that Duke finally comes to grips with his heart and love for Lennon. Although he makes some bone-headed choices in the name of love (haven't we all??), this sets the stage for one of the most difficult parts of their journey.

Goodbye Never delivers several tough issues that bring on a lot of tears (happy and sad!), as well as heartache, in an extremely well-written story. The characters and situations are realistically written, leaving the fluff and nonsense at the curb. I could clearly see their emotional and mental development change and grow with each advancement of the timeline.

One of my favorite reads thus far of 2022!

Lennon and Duke have been best friends since they were children. She has always had feelings for him, but he never pursued anything past friendship. As they got older, though, those feelings and their lives got much more complicated.

I honestly didn't always love Duke and some of his actions/choices, especially when he was younger. I could understand how his inexperience and expectation that he would be with Lennon eventually played into things. Overall though I thought he was a good character who very obviously cared for Lennon and wanted the best for her.

Lennon was a heroine who has dealt with so much pain and loss. She was doing her best to move forward and I felt for her. She had a lot of growth, especially since we get chapters from her perspective when they were in high school.

This story packs an emotional punch as these two lifelong friends try to work their way through grief, a complicated past, and a baby on the way. It was hard at times to see how they would get their HEA, but their connection was never truly broken.

I don’t think I can put into words just how much I loved this book! Duke is now one of my all time favorite book boyfriends! This was just perfection.

Lennon & Duke have been friends since they were babies, their mothers were the best of friends. They grew up together, only a year apart, share the same birthday and were very close. When Lennon turned 15 she started to have feelings for Duke right around the time he was about to leave for Annapolis to join the military. She didn’t think Duke felt the same way so she never expressed it to him. Then life just happens and years pass by. Will it be too late or will the time ever be right for them?

Their friendship never wavers and Duke’s commitment to Lennon as a friend in all things good or bad just makes me tear up thinking about it. You just have to read this book! I don’t want to give anything away! If you love emotional books, look no more!

Goodbye for Now.
Goodbye Never.

This was such a beautiful emotional book to read. This is the very definition of a slow burn friends to lovers romance and one that was done very well.

We follow Lennon and Duke over the years of their friendship. Duke is the outgoing one who pushes and challenges Lennon to get involved in school life making friends and having fun. I loved how protective and supportive Duke was of her. Lennon has always known that Duke was the one for her but she has always been in the friend zone. Life takes them in different directions but they remain in touch ... until they don't.

This was one of those books that touch you deeply because Prescott takes the readers and characters on the rollercoaster ride called life. I wanted to shake Duke so many times as he didn't seen to realise that Lennon's life wasn't going to stand still waiting for him to come home. The story does deal with grief and that aspect was written perfectly I could feel the emotions behind the words. It may be because I was firmly in Duke's corner that I didn't connect or really like Chase much I actually thought that he was quite manipulative.

Lennon and Duke's story is one that touched me deeply and left me wishing for my soulmate.

Goodbye Never will have you swoony hard. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. Lennon and Duke have been friends forever. Their mom's and best friends and they were especially raised together. When Lennon goes to the snotty, private school and everyone makes fun of her, it's Duke who stands-up and protects her. They are there for each other no matter what. Lennon has had a crush on Duke forever and thinks things might be changing but the next time she sees Duke, he is with another girl. Resigned just to be Duke's best-friend, they soon begin their adult lives. Lennon goes to college close to home to help her mom and Duke joins the military to become a helicopter pilot. Duke continues to climb the military ladder and Lennon meets a nice man who loves her more than she (thinks) she loves him. but one trip home from Duke changes the trajectory of their lives. Who can Lennon always rely on? One word: Duke.
This story gave me all the feels! Duke was swoony and proved what a good man and friend he was to Lennon. Lennon really grew as a character through-out the book. And can we go back to Duke (heart eyes). This was an amazing book. Prescott really nailed-it on Goodbye Never. One of the best books I have read this year by far.

The tears I cried reading this story. Happy, sad, and everything in between. At times love can be seen as curse. Loved ones die, accidents happen, people leave. But most of the time love is a blessing. It gets us through those hard times. It allows us to appreciate what a gift every day is. Being together, sharing our lives with the good and the bad is what it is all about. Lennon and Duke had had that love since they were young. They never admitted it to each other, but it was always there regardless. At time miles kept them apart physically, but they always found a way to “be together.” They saw each other through things in their lives.
Their love was an everlasting love. One people dream about experiencing. Their story will have you shedding tears for them and what life threw at them. But through it all their love is what saw them through. Goodbye Never is such an emotional, loving story of the greatest gift of all, love. A love that stood the test of time and a love that will never die. A forever kind of love.

A beautiful story that will have readers experiencing a range of emotions before getting to the happily ever after they cannot help but want. Lennon and Duke have a history from the time they are babies and a friendship that is so solid nothing can break it. They support one another through moments of happiness as well as sadness. Their road to forever is full of special moments that readers will absolutely love and moments of tragedy that will make readers weep.
I adored every word of this book. I read this book until my eyes could no longer stay open. The characters are written with a depth and realism that has me feel as though I was living through all of the good times, and bad, right alongside Lennon and Duke. We should all be so lucky to have a relationship as strong and passionate as this couple’s!

Another heart-wrenching but beautiful love story from Prescott Lane, this time it’s Duke and Lennon’s friends to lovers journey.
Best friends from the day they crawled, through kindie to high school and beyond, he was her protector when the other kids teased her, he was the one stable person in her life so what happens when she realises she wants more than friendship, what happens when serving his country takes him miles away……..you are going to need to read the book to find out.
Goodbye Never has all the feels, it a captivating, emotional, roller coaster that will take over your life. Duke is the perfect boyfriend, kind, caring and protective and Lennon is the girl you will want to protect. A great read that I highly recommend to all romance lovers.

Think I'm probably in the minority here, but there were lots of things missing for me. I never felt overly attached to the characters, I wasn't a massive fan of the writing style, and something just didn't click. I really liked some of the cute aspects of it, but even they were overshadowed by the two main characters who I never really found myself rooting for. It’s perfect for readers who love military romance, plus friends to lovers missed opportunity stories, but like I said, things were missing that I need to love a book, which meant all I could really give it was 2.5!

I did not expect to love this book so much! The author was new to me, but when I read the blurb, I knew that I need to read it and it exceeded my expectations.

The story that Duke and Lennon have is heartbreaking and beautiful. Wrong timing, unsaid feeling, loss... And then a small light at the end of the tunnel that is each other. Plus, the friends to lovers aspect was so fantastic and I've been rotting for them to express their true feelings and find shelter with one another. Both characters were so perfectly created and the plot kept me glued to the book.

Needless to say, Prescott Lane has got a new fan!

Omg this story. It will rip out your heart and gut you but fix you in the best way ever. Lennon and Duke were destined to be together but first they had to be in love with each other at the same time. Fronts and playmates since Lennon was born, life had to take a journey for the timing to be right. Lennon and Dukes story is a reminder to live in the minute and tell your loved ones how you feel. It's heartbreaking and redeeming all at once. I cried several times.

Wow, just wow, I don't think I have the right words to describe just what I feel about one of the most special romances I've read. This is a totally different read from the run-of-the-mill love stories I've read. This was a heartbreaking tale, one that I wasn't expecting to affect me quite as much as it has. I'm still crying as I write this review. And I still feel that I will be like this for a while to come.

Duke and Lennon's relationship started from almost the time they could walk. And for me, it was fated to play out exactly as it did. All the heartache and tears were needed for these two fated souls to get to where they were needed to be. Even though I hated some of the situations. I was screaming for Duke the whole way. And that is all I can say, I won't ruin this story.

I really recommend this beautiful book. It has climbed onto my list for my top read of the year. No matter what story this author tells, Prescott Lane always manages to move me.

Goodbye for now. Goodbye Never.......
