It felt like only a moment had passed and the next thing I knew I was finishing this volume of Backyard Dungeon leaving me entertained and then quickly sadden when I realized oh no I finished the book!
Cant wait for the next book of the series that has become one of my favorite series written by Logan Jacobs!
Another fun adventure for Eddie and his friends and family
Once Eddie defeated Ursenger, I wondered how the series would manage. Mr. Jacobs has done a nice job of creating new adventures, both on the surface and in The Gloom, for Eddie and his team. The introduction of Pregia and what awaits him in the Twilight has been a fun addition to Eddie’s exploits, both in combat and in the bedroom. Mr. Jacobs has opened up a large number of potential options for Eddie to pursue we see him start to clean up other connections to Belzat and his attempt to escape from the Deeper Dark. This book begins to pursue that avenue of adventure. I really enjoyed how Eddie is able to combine many of his past companions into one large group to pursue the villain in this book. I enjoy seeing the exploits of all the previous characters. This book continues the fun combination of action underground and connection with his family on the surface. It also continues the story of Eddie’s exploits as he is also looking to expand his harem. This was a quick read and one that I could pick back up. I look forward to book 8 and seeing what new adventures and exploits Eddie and his friends and family will be up to.
This series has been the only one of Jacobs' that I've been able to enjoy. I've tried some of the others and just can't stand the weak simp MCs he prefers. This one has been different. The MC is more of a traditional male of bygone eras in terms of the relationships he's found himself in. Strong, protective, decisive. Typical toxic masculinity. Not perfect, but not the faggotized, limp wristed, whispers of flatulence that passed for men now. The wives' he's collected, though they vary from warrior to homemaker, were all sweet virgins that support and follow him. To be honest that dynamic was the only reason I kept reading. The writing and story telling are meh, and the world building is blah. This dynamic changed with this book. His latest girl is a run-through, nasty, mean, arrogant, spoiled b! I lost any respect I had for the MC when boned her. Maybe get yourself check out at the clinic first bud before jumping right back into the sack with your sweet wives.
Logan Jacobs has produced yet another thriller about the mystical lands beneath Eddie Hill's backyard. The fight scenes blend magic, swordplay and semi-automatic rifles that fire bullets charged magically by Dwarves. The battles are exciting, even though you know Eddie and his multi-species soldiers will prevail.
But it's the people--Night Elves, warrior Orcs, and good Goblins--who make the story work. And Eddie's wives are all different but beautiful. Some fighters, some with magical or domestic skills. They make me believe, illogically, that one guy can marry five or six women and everything will be fine. Well, it's urban fantasy.
Can't wait to read Book 8. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Caveat: Contains graphic violence, explicit sexuality, and coarse language. (What's not to love?)
More often than not, a series which goes on for this many entries starts to get overcomplicated. Logan Jacobs has the knack of keeping the story fresh and organic with excellent world-building and character development. I eagerly await future installments in the Gloom.
Of all the series that Logan writes, this is an awesome one. His details are great and the action scenes are top-notch. His humor is also really good and he doesn't fail to make me laugh. The only thing that has ever bothered me about this series, is that someone is going to find a way to make Eddie's surface life miserable before he can get a hold on it.
If you're here you already read six books, so not sure what else to say. Some slice of life spots to give Eddie's wives some more depth. It's not perfect, but it's an attempt and it's appreciated.
Overall an enjoyable quick read. Curious to see where it goes next.
Eddie loves his girlfriends and wives, but 'Hey', whats one more (especially if she's a Queen)? But, first things first, kill the evil monsters and finally Vampires that are threatening the innocent farmers of The Gloom.
One thing that bothered me was that the brilliant Eddie Hill kept forgetting that he had a magic phone. 'I have to walk my dumb butt to see x', 'Hey X, I'll call if anything comes up.' He even forgets to call his wives to let them know where he is, and when he'll be home. A bit disappointing, but still good enough to get the next one. Tom out
This was a powerful and exciting adventure, with each new chapter the duel worlds our characters inhabit grow and grow in interest! I eagerly await the next one!
I don't know if I can say much without adding spoilers, so, I will just say that this book was as wonderful as the first book. It's better than most I have read. I read a lot. This was worth every moment I spent lost in the pages.
Yet another fine addition in Backyard Dungeon series! This whole series is great, and #7 has Not let me down. This one, like all the rest, is well written, with an exciting plot and well fleshed-out characters, that I can't help but root for.
An amazing addition to a already amazing story. This this chapter is by and far the best in my opinion.. The series has gotten amazing amazing and I cannot wait to see where it goes
I am really enjoying this series. However I am getting bored by the big bad in the background. I would like to see more adventures topside or more exploring the unknown.
I think it's fun and need more... Just view read want more....Maybe he's trying not to go to crazy to quickly.. or he split up a big book to these smaller chunks....
I can't wait for the next volume, I live this series. It's very well written and the character building is amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone that like isekai or fantasy novels.
The story continues in book 7. I know some of this can be foreseen from book 6 but Logan Jacobs rights a very fun story. I'm looking forward to the next book! I can highly recommend this and the whole series.
Riveting story with loads of action and intermixed with romance to fill any reader's needs. The story is tied together well and the characters are believable as well as interesting.
