I can't begin to describe how disappointed I was by this book. The title is a total scam, since she never describes how or why she became a Dominatrix. Carmen Stern, who allegedly had a reputation as a good Dominatrix in Seattle, wastes 163 pages talking about her lousy marriage, her terrible jobs and how she blew $50,000 faking an imaginary lover.

In her second marriage, outlined in this book, she was in love with a man with a very extreme fantasy: He wanted to be a cuckold. For reasons not explained in the book, Ms. Stern loves him and tries to fulfill his fantasy by making up a 15 year affair with an imaginary lover. In the process, she makes herself sick and spends in excess of $50,000 on the deception. Her career as a domina finally ends when she leaves her husband, declares bankruptcy, and starts a new career as a dance instructor and Spanish teacher who finds the Lord.

I think she mentions being a Dominatrix twice in the book but never describes any of the sessions, any of her feelings or really, anything. Towards the end of the book she's very judgmental of people in the BDSM scene and calls them Godless and in need of psychiatric help.

This is a terrible book: Unless you're already a battered wife and want to read about another's experience..
