Autumn must prove to herself that she doesn’t always need to be one of a pair – but she also really needs a date to her sister’s wedding.
Billionaire and space entrepreneur Ren insists a faux girlfriend is the only way to keep fortune hunters at bay when he serves as keynote speaker at an upcoming conference.
When her best friend and his assistant match them on a dating app, Autumn and Ren devise a fake romance plan that’ll fulfill both of their goals.
But complications arise when they begin spending time together in preparation for the events. Real feelings and undeniable chemistry threaten their charade.
Heartwarming and swoon-worthy, Autumn Sky is the second in the Lake Lyla series.
I loved how i connected to the characters because throughout the book, stories of both characters past / childhood were being told and described in detail
i loved autumn so much. she was confident and knew what she wanted. she never let anyone else tell her otherwise and i admire that !!
i also of course loved ren 😩🫶 he was just the cutest and i loved how throughout the book, he became a better version of himself because of autumn. i also loved how thoughtful he was. not to mention the fact that he’s a romcom book and movie lover !!!!
and this book has dual pov so of course that’s another thing i loved about it :)
and finally, was loving the fall vibes in this book ( which is one reason why i picked to read it in the first place ) it was so descriptive and i could feel all the fall feels 🍂
overall, this book was a quick and easy romance but nevertheless, it’s worth it to read. def recommend !!
This was such a sweet fall season read and gave life to the fake dating trope that I have been so fond of lately.
Ren and Autumn have this push and pull chemistry that shouldn't work because they are such different people but still manage to make their way through those initial differences to complete this plan they've concocted. Ren gets a date for his work conference and Autumn gets a date for her sister's wedding. It's simple. It's easy. Then why does it become so intense and emotionally charged as we see how things unfold as they get to know one another?
This is an upbeat read which is different from my usual type of book but I still found it comforting and a nice change of pace. Reminded me of the things I love about the fall season, how a hot mug of apple cider makes all the difference on a cold night, or how sitting down to watch Pretty Woman always brings a smile to my face.
I received an advanced reader copy (ARC) of Autumn Sky and loved every page of it. I read Summer Sky first and was so happy that Jenna Starly’s new book gave me the opportunity to spend more time in Lake Lyla with the Sky sisters! In the story, Ren is a quiet and gentle multi-billionaire who enters a fake relationship with Autumn (one of the three Sky triplets whose personal mission is to do good) under mutually beneficial circumstances. Though both Ren and Autumn are committed to remaining single, their pull towards each other is undeniable. Ren and Autumn are surrounded by loving, supportive and unique friends and family as they navigate the push-and-pull of falling in love. The story is very romantic and I found that I was rooting for the happiness of both characters instantly. The setting of the idyllic Lake Lyla shines through, just like in Jenna Starly’s first book in the series, Summer Sky. I highly recommend Autumn Sky for a five-star, heart-warming love story.
I was utterly charmed by this 2nd novel in the Lake Lyla series by Jenna Starly. She introduces us to Autumn, who is determined to shed her "serial boyfriend" pattern and discover herself. Who of us can't relate to trying to break a destructive habit and come out a stronger version of ourselves? The story is engaging and thoroughly upbeat and has you rooting for all the central characters. I encourage you to pick up this novel and smile while you discover Autumn's strong spirit. It's infectious!
I have a lot to say but going to stick to the main points. I absolutely LOVED Summer Sky (the first book in the series) and was excited to read this second book! Turns out I ended up disappointed. Characters were boring and I just couldn’t connect with them. Nothing wrong with nerds or the nerdy type but Ren was something. Comparing Autumn to a planet while having sex? How boring is that?
I’d give it a three if I connected well and loved the characters but I just didn’t. Being generous I gave it a 2 because I finished it instead of stopping in the middle of it.
I got this book also as an ARC and I loved it. I loved getting glimpses of Summer from Summer Sky but mostly I just loved these two main characters. I loved reading about them apart and together. The setting was terrific as well. Also, I want to go see Pretty Woman again as it has been too long. Anyway, I could not put it down!
I really enjoyed this book, like the first book in this series I loved how it showed that it is important to be an individual. These sisters love one another but they each seek to have a life of their own, to build relationships outside of one another and I think it’s important for everyone to be okay with having their own lives and respecting others having their own lives without feeling left out. I liked the Autumn recognized how she used relationships as a sub for the relationship with her sister’s and decided to work on herself, it’s not easy to admit to our toxic ways.
This is such a cute fake dating trope novel. It was a really quick read however had great character development, was funny at times and also had good portrayal of emotions. This was definitely a clean romance novel but still adorable!
This book was on a GR recommended reads list so I'm disappointed in how bland it is. The first book in the series was 'fine', it was a bit simplistic and obvious, but still readable. This book was the same but telegraphed exactly where it was going from the repeated mentions of Pretty Woman.
If you've not seen that film and you read this book you won't need to see the film anymore as the book rips off a number of key film moments. Honestly though, you'd be better off watching the film, it's more enjoyable and the characters have far greater depth.
A low 3 star/high 2 star. Better written than the other fall romances I've read this last month, which were cringe-inducing. Definitely had the possibility for a higher rating, but the alternating perspectives written in first person fell really flat. Why? The characters sounded the same! There was no distinction in voice or mannerisms. If the book were longer and gave more to the development of the character terms and the relationship, thus could have been a 4 star.
⭐️3.0⭐️ A solid 3 star read. It’s a very atmospheric fall book if you are looking for something that’s cozy & really get you into the fall mindset. A sweet fake dating trope, but I did roll my eyes a few times while reading this. Extremely predictable, but a quick & easy fall read. 🤷🏼♀️
