When Mila Coin goes to see her best friend Harper, the last thing she expects to find is a job, especially her dream job as a Nanny. Looking after three-year-old Asher is a pleasure, but contending with his brooding Uncle Cooper, is another matter altogether. Club President, Cooper, is used to getting his own way. He’s bossy, dominating and everything Mila avoids in a man. But Cooper gets under her skin, and she finds herself drawn into a battle of love and hate. She soon becomes addicted to the scraps of attention that he throws her way. Just when Mila thinks she’s found her forever man, things take a dramatic turn, and ghosts from the past threaten everything they have together. Walking away from Cooper is hard, but staying, is the real challenge.
Nicola Jane, a native of Nottinghamshire, England, has always harboured a deep passion for literature.
From her formative years, she found solace and excitement within the pages of books, often allowing her imagination to roam freely. As a teenager, she would weave her own narratives through short stories, a practice that ignited her creative spirit.
After a hiatus, Nicola returned to writing as a means to liberate the stories swirling within her mind. It wasn't until approximately five years ago that she summoned the courage to share her work with the world.
Since then, Nicola has dedicated herself tirelessly to crafting poignant, drama-infused romance tales. Her stories are imbued with a sense of realism, tackling challenging themes with a deft touch.
Outside of her literary pursuits, Nicola finds joy in the company of her husband and two teenage children. They share moments of laughter and bonding that enrich her life beyond the realm of words.
Nicola Jane has many books from motorcycle romance to mafia romance, all can be found on Amazon and in Kindle Unlimited.
The author hates women. Really. Cheating, cheating in your face, abuse, indifference, and then out and out rape of a pregnant woman are not hallmarks of romance in my mind especially when there is no warning.
For starters, the blurb is NOTHING like the book. I expected an enemies to lover romance, not a situation where the h is humiliated by the H’s sex with other women as well as a dismissive attitude to any of her own POV. How many times does a woman have to hear that this is none of your business before it registers?
Secondly, either the ARC readers have been paid off, bribed, threatened as there is as little romance as brain activity from the 4 and 5 star reviews. Yeah, this is a mean review, but I am pissed. A proper blurb or hints at a dark situation would have prevented this review as I would not have read it in the first place.
It started out strong where the h takes to the H’s poor nephew and dismisses the H’s good looks due to his rude behavior. Yay, an h with a brain and a backbone. That does not last long.
The H has sex with other girls after he’s kissed the h. Kisses the h after he’s had sex with other women, but, hey girlfriend, they have this really awesome connection, y’all. H never interacts with his nephew either by the way.
The h cheats as well because she’s manipulated by a wannabe OW.
They get back together and the H announces they are getting married despite the h being upset that he has a whole mansion she and the nephew aren't allowed in because it’s a mausoleum to his dead wife. The dead wife that shows up the morning of the wedding and which the H has sex with before he meets up with the h to explain he can't marry her. He then asks the h to stick around so he can suss out how he feels as he moves her stuff out and his wife back in, but ….I’m so conflicted.
The heroine finally finds a backbone and moves out with her equally pathetic roommate (friend is pregnant by her crush who just got back together with his ex. She’s pregnant too. Cool beans, right. They’re all pregnant together.)
The h is kidnapped by her old boyfriend who is in league with the hero’s BIL who rapes her. H’s BIL rapes her. I guess it’s all okay as he’s the guy she cheated on with the H to begin with.
It wasn't just the regular MC bad romance crap, but on more than one occasion the H and his other cheating minion that belonged to the friend were so antagonistic and belittling to the women for just wanting to state the truth it was scarily mysogynistic in a real way rather than an alpha MC gang way. If I want that kind od old schoo BS, I can just read the news.

If I could rate it no starts I would! It includes the mc cheating several times just a no from me. No women in their right mind would’ve stayed or if they did they wouldn’t have made it that easily. My advice change it to make it sound more realistic and less like the women is a doormat. Not gonna read from your other books if this is what it’s like. If your into a women who allows her man to cheat, treat you as second best abs abusive then this book is for you!
2.5 Craptastic Stars I binge read this series on Saturday while I was going for my Cowboy Boot/50K steps in a day fitbit badge… I have issues… and it was a good fit for what I needed… An OTT ride on the HotMess Express to keep my mind off the torture of spending HOURS on my treadmill with my knee screaming… BUT this will not be for everyone. Especially the safety gals cuz everybody’s cheating/sleeping with OP. OR readers interested in something realistic, developed, or romantic. Basically, this is for readers looking for mindless trashy soap-smut of the mc variety.
Cooper is an ASS. He’s constantly hot/cold and back and forth while being with OW. There might only be one event that is technically cheating where they’re in a committed relationship, but the dude gets around. The tone of the book isn’t serious, and nothing is really explored/addressed, so it doesn’t pack a gut-punch. It had potential, but it just isn’t treated with the seriousness required for angst.
Bottom Line- OK read for what it is… ridiculous mindless trashy soap-smut. I mean he’s a bike prez that has a mansion with a butler… that’s how realistic this bad boy is. Loads of drama-llama but zero real feels. We really needed Cooper’s POV because they never discuss anything that happens, so we’re left in the dark (plot holes) A LOT of the time.
Honestly, it felt a little lazy because when it came time for them to makeup, we’re told things that didn’t make sense because his actions didn’t back it up. For example, The problem is the ending is SO rushed and up to that point he’s still messing around with OW, so the 5% or so dedicated to wrapping it up… doesn’t cut it.
Wtf did i just read?this was a mess! I wanted a biker romance , maybe Kristen Ashley inspired but this was not it! This book was hilariously stupid. Spoilers ahead!
The zeroine wants the Zero, and the zero sleeps with the club wh**re because he doesn't want to sleep with the zeroine. That wouldn't be professional 🤣🤣🤣 After some time the zero and the zeroine decide to be together but something happens and she sleeps with another man. But wait, the zeroine finds out that he was married and he never stopped loving his ex and he tells her that ,and then he ia tattooing his name on her wrist, only to dump her 2weeks later on their wedding day, after his wife returns, and after he sleeps with said wife. Ich! Just gross. And the have a happy ending without any grovel or explanation. I read this just to see how stupid cand a plot be . It was reaaaaally stupid!
EDIT Reread 2022 This could’ve been stellar. The OW angst was awesome but it wrapped up in a gunshot of an ending. No closure. No showing of how a resolution was reached. The h is raped by the OM brother of H’s first wife. H rescues the h and THE END.
So many plot threads are dropped, not fully fleshed out, or never explored. This needed H POV because too much is left up in the air and unexplained. The moment the OWwife appears, the plot goes sideways and all of the delicious angst is set on fire and the buildup is burned away leaving nothing but confusion, questions, and H who is never redeemable because of the shitty story telling after the OW return.
I’m not giving this review more time. It doesn’t deserve it from me. I got too much shit to do today ;)
3.5 stars but I’m so mad at the holes in this book, I’m not rounding up.
What I liked: I liked the ow drama with Anne(ow/dead wife) and how she ends up, along with her brother (I just wish he made them suffer instead of quickly killing them). I really liked Max and wished he was the hero instead of Cooper(H). Also, loved how Mila(h) smashed up Cooper’s bike.
What I didn’t like: Where should I begin…..first: I hated how Mila slept with Brick(om), second: I hated how Cooper slept with ow especially if he supposedly loves the Mila, third: I hated how Mila would just go right back to him and have sex with him especially after choosing his wife knowing he had sex with her, fourth: I hated how she had sex with him without him getting tested for an STD, fifth: I hated how she was raped and lastly there was not enough grovel for all the stuff she had to see and dealt with (I mean he was the reason she got raped and shot).
How hot was it: 3 out 5
Details/ Triggers: OW drama and Cheating. H is the President of the MC. His sister had a child and he is now in charge of him. h is a live in nanny for the boy. H and h start to have feelings but H doesn’t want to ruin anything because the boy really likes her. So to avoid the h and his feelings he has sex with a club chick. The club chick isn’t nice to the boy and causes problems. h believes ow when she says he was with her so she sleeps with om. They finally get their act together and the night before their wedding H’s “dead” wife comes back. He chooses to go back to his wife leaving the h. When his wife leaves him again, he leaves to think leaving his nephew, the club and the h. While away he sleeps with ow. h gets kidnapped and raped (at least both guys are killed along with the “dead” wife). Also, H is a little handsy with the h (he grabs her and pulls a gun on her).
Final thoughts: This was a rough read for me. First, there was not enough of a grovel for me. Cooper should have walked on broken glass and begged on his knees. Second, I didn’t feel in anyway that the H and h would last. The next time they will fight he will be screwing some chick. No way do I believe in the HEA at all.

“Cooper, you moved on or back, however you choose to look at it. I wore the wedding dress you chose, was willing to turn up to the church you booked, I had the tattoo that you wanted to brand me as yours, and then after all of that, you chose Anna. You told me you’d moved on, that you were ready, and then you made a fool of me. I can’t be tied to you. I need to move on.” “I didn’t choose Anna over you. It wasn’t even a choice, at least not one I thought I’d have to make. What was I supposed to do when the wife I thought was dead turns up? I didn’t stop loving her, we didn’t split up . . . I didn’t think I’d ever see her again and then she came back to me.”

So I started reading this book and couldn't put it down until I finished I wished both this book amd the second book in the series, Kain.
Oh the drama of the Motorcycle Club president and his Nanny.
I must warn you there's a ton of drama..plus cheating plus SA described. There's also a widower who discovers hus dead wide is very much alive..ob hus wedding day to the fmc. So yes..we have a jilted bride scene as well as tins of violence and death.
Cooper doesn't have a romantic bone in his body..he's a total caveman asshole..me like woman..me claim woman..me marry woman and have baby with woman. Then physc...my dead wife is back. I no longer want woman anymore.
Mila is never #1 to Cooper until maybe the very end even when Mila begs him to make her a priority..he never does. He doesn't show that he loves her. He just seems to treat her like am afterthought who will have sex with him whenever he wants. He doesn't seem to take Milas feelings in consideration with his actions.
The amount of drama kept me hooked though even if the MMCs behavior is abhorrent.

My first read of this series was years ago (Splintered edition), and I have loved every time I do a re-read. Cooper is the epitome of the type of biker I enjoy reading.
I only wish we had more of this type of biker book.
I know this book isn’t for everyone but for me it was a book that I stayed up until 3a.m. reading because I couldn’t put it down. Sure Cooper wouldn’t win a Man of the Year Award but there was just something about him that, for me, was a love/hate relationship. Cooper and Mila’s story was like watching a trainwreck and I couldn’t look away.
There were so many twists and turns with surprises galore that made this a one-sit read for me. Knowing that this is a MC book I didn't think it would be roses and sunshine so, with that, I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
H is constantly sleeping with other women, and like a doormat she just rolls over. I can’t handle stories like that. Kept me interested but pissed the whole time.
If you start this book and by some disturbing chance you like it, please seek professional help. I'm not being mean, I beg you to go and speak with someone. This book is not OK. This author is not OK. People who left anything but 1 star for this book are also not OK.
This book glorifies things and behaviours which are not only toxic but straight up abusive. Authors have a great power of influence and often forget this also comes with an even greater responsibility. I don't care how popular certain people/books are but we are NOT allowing authors in 2025 to promote and justify abusive behaviours and relationships.
I have so many opinions about this book and none of them are complimentary.
Not only is the h a total doormat but there are boxes of rocks out there smarter than her. This is someone who acts on bad information from strangers over and over. Doesn't want her current bf to mess up her would be r@pist ex bf because she 'can handle him'. Stays on when the H cheats. Stays when the H picks his ex over her. Stays when the H runs aways. Because for some reason shes more responsible for a child than his blood relatives.
The H was ridiculous but I expected him to be trash from reviews. None of the characters in this dumpster fire of a story acted like reasonable adults.
This is a well written book with strong characters and an interesting storyline. The author does a great job developing her characters and gives them a sizzling hot chemistry. She pulled me in with all the drama, violence and suspense, adds a ton of emotions as well as all the twists and turns along the way. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a great read that had me glued to the pages right to the end. I enjoyed reading Cooper and Mila's story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
The hero in this book was not it. He was incredibly rude and disrespectful to the heroine. I rate the storyline a 2/5 but am willing to give more writing from this author a chance hence my overall 3/5 rating.
I actually gagged @ 65% so I'm out. I'm thinking this author really hates this zeroine to the max and I can't put myself through another word of this STD infested train wreck
If you want a H biker who is unequivocally a 🪳 then this if for you. I kept reading to see how much this h was going to take before it was over. BTW it was a ridiculous amount.
Although this isn’t the worst MC romance that I’ve read it isn’t the best.
You think about the FMC would be and have more of a backbone, especially with what Cooper did to her and she does for the time being.
I just hate that it took something very traumatic and tragic for her to come around his thinking and get back together with him. He didn’t have to grovel because she was so shaken up about what happened to her. It just doesn’t seem right in the romance plot.
No way in hell would any woman put up with this shit. No matter her circumstances.
I'm one of those readers that needs fiction to make some sort of sense. Unless it's fantasy. Then anything goes. But since this wasn't fantasy, I found it hard to get through without rolling my eyes. Drama for the sake of drama that no sane person would ever put up with is not my kind of read.
Let me start this by saying I know the author mentions that this was her first MC book and it has undergone edits, but I really need to review the book as I would any other.
Spoilers….
I read a lot of books, and the one trope I really love is second chance and cheating. Don’t ask me why, I just do. So I’m not adverse to any infidelity or betrayal. I believe that characters need to find a way to their HEA. That means we have to read the growth of the characters and follow their journey which is often really messy and we as readers are filled with rage. This was one of those books.
MC books follow their own rules, the same with dark romance and Mafia books etc. They are gritty and they don’t confirm to what we as society deem as acceptable between a man and woman. Don’t expect hearts and flowers.
The storyline and writing style did keep me engaged, but the one thing that I couldn’t help think as I was reading is that the book feels so immature. It’s just parts of the dialogue and decisions made me think of a pair of eighteen years old making stupid decisions and mistakes. There were many contractions and Mila believing something someone told her, even though she knew herself it wasn’t true. How she reacted and the dialogue was like a high school drama. It did make me roll my eyes a few times.
“Carrie said Cooper had been sleeping with her. I was hurt and angry and Brick was there doing that thing he does with the eyes and the sexy smile. And did I mention that she said she’d slept with Cooper.”
As much as I like a fast-paced book, this one moved really fast. For us to believe in the characters and their relationship we need the in-between. When it jumps to them saying I love you, it’s hard to digest as there’s just no real progression. We just read about them loving each other, but we don’t get to feel it. We also don’t get to feel redemption. What that does is make the reader feel a disconnect, and we’re not invested in the characters. I did, however, like the ending. It was very abrupt but alongside what I said above, that went hand in hand with the stylistic choices in the book.
I'm really starting to hate the whole "I almost died, every hurt you gave me doesn't matter, I forgive you" shit. I think it's a last resort that just proves all the more that the H is irredeemable; that only life and death situations can get the h to reconsider taking him back.
Cooper messed up a lot. And having Mila's life in danger and saving her from it shouldn't excuse Cooper's f*ck ups. I don't care that he killed the one threatening Mila and thereby proves that he "chose her" 🙄 what a load of bull. I'm so sorry, I'm just so incensed about this.
However, I would like to give it to the author, I may hate the characters but I love the writing. She kept me going back even though I didn't like what's happening.
Anyway, yeah, the males in this book, not just the H, are complete a*holes and the girls are complete doormats, not just the h, Mila. But the thing is I'm just in the right headspace to get angry so I'd probably read the next book again (I read it way before I finished this one).
EDIT: Ok, I'm confused. I just checked and the second book isn't out yet but I could've sworn that I read it before. Just the names Ginger and Harper and dual pregnancies strike remembrance in me. Was I making stuff up?
This is a rage read for me. I mean…. Good god the mmc is a hot and cold Jekyll and Hyde walking red flag. There isn’t anything good or sexy about him. What’s the appeal here? Is it his obsessive controlling behavior? Or that he needs her to stop all the noise in his head? I don’t get it. Why did she love him? There is no romance . They didn’t laugh or have any good times together. There was no swooning feelings or sweet moments. They fought, cheated on each other, and screwed. This book leaned more towards the dark gritty mc. he choked her twice. She slapped him twice. Trashed rooms. Pulled a gun in her twice. Yeah these two were messed up. And you know I can get behind the dark romance, if I feel the connection between the characters. But I didn’t . The “love” so surface level and felt forced.
The fmc is a weak doormat with a pretend backbone who honestly just sucks. I mean the guy cheats on her and leaves her 10 mins before her wedding and she stay!!! She has sex with him immediately after being dumped, continues to live in the club, and still works for him raising his nephew. Why? I’m screaming WHY?
But don’t worry..all is forgiven and forgotten because she gets pregnant, is kidnapped, and raped before he saves her. The end…
So I saw kains story on tiktok and was like I have to read this but wanted to start book 1 of the series first! What a waste I couldn't even finish it. She becomes the nanny. She finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her she breaks up with him. She starts sleeping with the president of the club. She cheats on him he cheats on her. He gets violent with her and then later on with her best friend. She loves him he loves her. His previous wife "died" . I have read so many MC books. This has no morals how can it be a love story. On the wedding day dead wife shows up the pres leaves the nanny. Expects her to still work for him they continue to screw each other. She takes her heart break and beats his motorcycle and he almost kills her. This isn't a love story its trash. Just reading through the book kains will be trash also. He cheats on his pregnant Ole lady with another girl gets her pregnant in the first book. Just alot of damn cheatin
