Living Faith: A Study of Hebrews 11

Rate this book
New and updated edition, previously published as Let's Run: Running the Race with Faith and Perseverance.
We all know that, as Christians, we will be challenged in our faith. Sometimes the challenge comes in the form of temptation. The enemy knows exactly when to target us–when we’re at our weakest. And he knows precisely what tempts us most.

Often, the challenge comes when the world’s way is counter-cultural to God’s way. We want to be accepted, and it’s difficult to always say or do the right things.

And, of course, we are challenged when we face trials that cut us to the bone–grief, loss, sickness, and disappointment can all lead us to waver in our beliefs.

But God’s Word gives us examples of men and women who were commended for their faith in the face of extreme loss, temptation, and challenges. Living Faith is a study of this “cloud of witnesses” found in Hebrews Chapter 11. As we explore each of their stories in the Old Testament, we learn how to apply these principles of faith to our own lives.
In this 6-week Bible study devotional , we will journey together through Scripture, grounding you in truth and empowering you to stand firm in your faith.

Join me and let’s grow our faith together!

Much Needed Fuel for My Race

I cheated. I read this devotional like a book rather than a Bible study because I prefer to study the Bible in a systematic way as opposed to using devotionals. But I'm facing some new career challenges and needed to strengthen my faith to meet those challenges. So I ploughed through this book. The in-depth look at the heroes of the faith in Hebrews 11 and the call to persevere in my own race from Hebrews 12 has encouraged me and strengthened my walk with God. I had almost lost heart, but now I'm inspired to keep moving forward. And I suppose I'll even go back through and study it for six weeks like the author intended!

Let’s Run is a solid, systematic 6 week daily devotional/Bible study based on several passages from the book of Hebrews. This book contains lots of practical applications and action steps. It is theologically sound and offers plenty of encouragement alongside Biblical truth. I read it on my Kindle, but I’m considering picking up a paperback copy so that I can write directly in the book. It’s perfectly designed to use in a group Bible study as well. It is filled with wisdom and insight and I highly recommend it.

Well done and welk run! A pastor's takr

This is a well researched and developed Bible Study. It offers everything I, as a pastor, like to see. It was researched and referenced, yes but more. It is personal and connects with people. It provides daily time and small group appkication too, a MUST! I could see offering this to my own churches and would love to see more Bible Studies of this quality on kindle. This one sets a high bar!

What a great study!!

Let's Run is a great 6-seek study on Hebrews 11 and the beginning of Hebrews 12. I have LOVED this study. Jennifer Hayes Yates has a powerful and personal way of opening up the Scriptures. With insightful background into the text, thought-provoking questions and well-related stories, Jennifer has made Hebrews 11 come alive in my heart. And with the Small Group Ideas at the end of each week, I can't wait to do this study with a group!! So good!

Great for personal growth

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Although intended for a group study, I read it on my own. Yet I still found it inspirational and encouraging. It was lighthearted but still thought provoking, asking great questions that allow introspection. Women are the intended audience but men will enjoy it as well.

I’ve done this study a few times and always get something new when I do. Hebrews is one of my best books, and this book helps you to understand what running your race really means. Love it!

What a great workbook for spending time with the Lord! I really enjoyed the thought-provoking questions that made me study the scripture more deeply. I recommend this book to anyone who, like me, is just getting started with daily devotion and seeking Him first!

If I had to point out one thing that made Let’s Run! a five-star study, it would be the way the Old Testament figures were made relevant to both the New Testament and to my life today. I love studies like this that are so scripturally driven, but just gaining knowledge is useless if it doesn’t guide me toward knowing Jesus better and loving Him more. Let’s Run! does not fail.
