I've always been an incurable romantic. While I enjoy reading all types of fiction, my favorites, the books that touch my soul, are romance novels. From sexy to thrilling, sweet to humorous, I like them all. But what I really love is writing romance--the hotter the better!

I started my first novel back in high school and have been writing ever since. To date, I've published over thirty novels, one of them a prestigious RITA Award nominee, Romance Writers of America's highest award of excellence. I have also been nominated by Romantic Times magazine for several Reviewer's Choice awards, as well as a career achievement award.

I've written for several different publishers, including Harlequin Books, Leisure Books, Berkley/Jove, St. Martin's Press and Warner Books. Born and bred in the Lone Start State, I still live deep in the heart with my real-life hero, Curt, and our young children.

Like any over-worked, under-appreciated wife and mother, I have very little free time. But when I find a few precious moments, I LOVE to read. Some of my favorite authors include Janet Evanovich, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Charlaine Harris (see my Favorite Reads page for more) and the exceptionally talented Nina Bangs. Give me a bag of Sugar Babies, a Toby Keith or Kevin Fowler CD (I love Texas music), and a great book, and I'm in heaven!

I rarely read category romances, they are too simple to me. This was my first book by Kimberly Raye and I was positively surprise.

The plot has actually quite a potential. The idea of Brady looking for his second chance in his home town and Eden fighting for her dignity is indeed an interesting concept. It's a pity it wasn't developed into a full-length book. Unfortunately, some scenes seems cut in the middle as if the author had some word limit she couldn't exceed. Also, I wish we have more insight into Brady and Eden, their feelings, thoughts, how they change. And more dialogues between them, not just sex scenes. With a proper character and plot development it could have been a really interesting contemporary romance.

I would give it 2,5 stars if I could. I'm still thinking about marking it 3 stars because it's definitely a pretty good book in it's category.

This story was a quick, somewhat interesting little read but because Kimberly Raye's Midnight Kisses was one of my all-time favorite funny reads, I guess I was expecting a little more. More humor and better character development. Maybe it was the short format? I'm not sure but I quickly tired of all of the agonizing over "reputations" and "haves" & "have nots". These two seemed way too hung up on their high school days. Or maybe I'm just a grouch (which is more than likely the case!). Still, it was easy to read and Brady was a pleasing hero what with the renting of Mickey Rourke videos to spice things up :)

3.5 stars. I liked this story, however this is the most poorly edited Harlequin novel that I've ever read. Some missing words and letters missing from words in at least 4 places disrupted the flow of the novel as you try to figure out what it should say. There also seemed to be some details that were lacking or should have been elaborated with in the story. The ending was rushed with not a lick of groveling or expressing remorse by the H for his insensitive comments. Nor did her issues end up being resolved (I'm getting married all my problems are now gone! *eye roll) If the ending had been flushed out a little better it would have been a solid 4 stars. I feel like I should be saying more positives about the story since I did like it, but nothing noteworthy is coming to mind.

Blaze 6 2001 Brady Weston and Eden Hallsey Brady returns to Cadillac, Texas and the family cowboy boot factory. He left 11 years ago, marrying his pg girlfriend. Eden Hallsey is now the owner of her parents bar, the Pink Cadalac. She's worked there from the time she was little and after her parents died in an automobile accident. Rumors in the small town have not helped her reputation and running a bar has not helped either. Protections her heart after she was humiliated in high school has been her defense. The return of Brady and his pushing into her life has left her thinking of things she knows will never happen in her life. I liked the way their story had twists and turns. One of the main characters change was a bit abrupt, but this didn't hurt the story.
