Earth isn’t how you imagined it would be. My parents' grandparents tried to warn us, but we didn’t listen. We’ve destroyed ourselves to the point of extinction. Sixty years, give or take, is what the human race has left before the population drops below what we scientists call the critical level. I’m convinced the solution is found in nature. Something we had is now missing, and since we’ve killed seventy percent of this planet, I’m not sure I’ll find what we need to survive. I don’t believe in miracles. The world lost spiritually around WWIII. It’s going to take nothing short of magic to save us, but I’m not giving up hope. It is all we have left. During a drunken night off, I stumble upon a being that will be our salvation or my doom. Maybe both the whiskey is making it a toss-up. When you learn that all the legends, myths, folklore, and fairytales are true but have been warped through time, you come to a simple realization…We never knew anything at all. Everything was a lie, and nothing will be the same again.
I'm a retired 45-year-old Puerto Rican wife and mother of 3 plus 1 bonus daughter. Originally from NYC, now living a quiet life in the south suburbs of Chicago. I enjoy reading and writing romance and erotic fiction. I'm addicted to coffee, sci-fi, and all things Marvel and Harry Potter.
I was a teen mom with a whole world of statistics against me. Every time I was told I couldn't do something, I did it, took pictures, and smiled with my son on my hip for everyone who ever doubted me.
Now, after finding the love of my life in my thirties, we married in the great 2020 pandemic, which shall not be named. We have a house full of teenagers who don't need mommy anymore, and the hubs is a traveling ER nurse, SO I have found myself with a lot of downtime.
After years of having this story taking space in my head, I decided to share it with the world. Gotta say, this writing gig is HARD. But with some time and grace, I'll get it right.
This book is like a badly written fan fiction. The storyline makes no sense at all. Like the idea has potential but the execution sucks. It jumps from one thing to another and the main female character gets kidnapped and then 3 pages later she is in love with both of her kidnappers. They have sex in the most random of moments and yeah no, I don’t even know what else to say. I’m questioning if the people who gave this 5 stars have read the same book that I have read.
Update - I logged in this morning and it showed my highlighted notes and many of the errors were corrected... I am downloading a copy again and trying once more
I finished the book last night And I truly believe this would be a great read if the author used an editor This ends on a cliff hanger and normally I would go on to book two Right now all kinds of F U B A R events are happening However, I will wait until the series has been edited and updated
I tried to read this via Kindle and...
I tried ignoring the issues

The Return of Avalon The Knights of Camelot book 1 D Williams Stars:🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Burn level:🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Time to read: 2 hours Cliffhanger My review may contain spoilers
Tropes: Age gap Love triangle Menage MM
I am a sucker for a good retelling, and let me tell you The Return of Avalon exceeded my expectations! This twist on The Knights of Camelot is as inventive as it is entertaining. Miss Williams has the right combination of drama, action, and smut. Her reinventions of the characters and their dynamics to each other are top notch. The Return of Avalon is told in multiple POVs!
Quotes: What started on a solstice night will come to an end in bright blue light. A thousand years, he’ll wait until blinded by her sight. Thrice the moon will circle the isle until the wedding night that saves the world. For if the child under the eclipse is not conceived, never more will one be.
I love a good fairy tale or mythology retelling and this was no exception. I was a little hesitant because I'm not a dystopia lover, but it barely affected the story. The FMC is a spitfire, and the MMCs were perfection. Lance had my heart immediately and his sass continued to get stronger. Thur was interesting, but his personality wasnt strong enough to stand out IMO. This easily could have been a full length book because I have so many questions about the world, but D. Williams did a great job condensing a pretty intricate story into 100ish pages. I will say, there are a TON of typos in this which was pretty distracting. Overall, I loved the story and I immediately bought the next 2 books in the series.
Thank you D. Williams and StuffWithFantasy for the free download.
Arthurian Legend with a Dystopian Twist, Return of Avalon is a departure from D Williams normal fare of leather and chrome.
Set on futuristic Earth, the marriage of paranormal and fantasy elements with a Dystopian landscape is masterful. It is seamless, and lends depth to the fairytales of our childhoods.
As always, the female main character has a core of steel. Though a short story, characters are well developed and crafted with great affection.
Williams dialogue is always a favourite and she fails to disappoint. Laugh out loud moments abound.
A MMF romance, HEAVY on the steam, I really enjoyed this fast read. The only downside is that it is a cliffhanger!
This book, is a completely different genre for this Author. I wasn't expecting to be so intrigued or into this book but I honestly couldn't put it down and absolutely hated how if left me hanging, wanting more desperately when I finished it. D Willams is quickly becoming my go to Author and it seems she is going to be deliver fantastic books, no matter what genre she writes about!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Plucked from a futuristic and dying planet earth, Gwyn learns that she is the key to saving Avalon. The Return of Avalon is book one of D Williams’ fantasy romance series The Knights of Avalon.
I am picky about the fantasy genre and don’t often love it, but love D Williams so I gave it a shot. I’m so glad I did, I was hooked in the first chapter. Thur and Gwyn are relatable and believable which makes the fantasy stuff work, beautifully! I am semi patiently waiting for book two!
Wow, this is so different from what I normally read. I wasn't sure on it but took the chance as I enjoyed D. Willams as an author. I'm so glad I did, because it was a great book. The Knights of Camelot is worth the read especially if you enjoy D. Williams but be prepared it's nothing like her MC books. This also isn't a normal knight and shining armor or king/queen book.
I was excited to learn the D. Williams was writing a fantasy novel and she did not disappoint! This is a very different take on Camelot and I loved it! I can't wait for the second book as well as the rest of the series. You can't go wrong when you read a D. Williams book whether it be fantasy or MC!!
This was not my usual read but I really enjoyed it. The Knights of Camelot was a really different but i love D. Williams other books so I decidedto try this one and found that i loved it. As the saying goes never judge a book by the cover or you could miss out on something great. I cannot wait for more from the series.
There are several errors and plot holes. World building fell short since you have little knowledge about either world or if they are even on the same planet. Due to this being a SYK free purchase from almost two years ago, I checked to see if a more updated download would be better. There was no change.
Finished my Arc and absolutely loved it! This is such a unique take on the Knights of Camelot and I can't wait for the second book! It's a mixture of fantasy, dystopia, and some glimpses of childhood classics! I'm excited to see where this goes!
I love this author’s MC series so I gave this a try and I’m glad I did!! It was a twist on a childhood classic and not your typical king/queen and knight story. I can’t wait for the continuation of the series!!
Cute story until the end when we come to the cliffhanger. Sweet love story between the main characters and we feel the total hotness between them and can anticipate what is to come. Hope to see more of the supporting characters as well-Merlin, Emily and Percy.. Quick read
I loved it!! So hot and different from any fantasy I have read. It gives a lot of storyline while leaving some mysteries for future novels. I can’t wait for May and the next installment!!! The cliffhanger…oh my heart!
Looking for a quick insta love? Then the Return of Avalon is it for you. I like the story line and where this book is going. I just wish it would have slowed down some. Looking forward to book two.
This is a new spin on the Knights of Camelot. Not my typical genre but I love D Williams as an author and was not disappointed! Fast-paced, insta-love story. I can’t wait to see where this goes!
This is so poorly written. So many grammatical and spelling errors. Even in the “acknowledgments” the word “accept” is used instead of “except.” I’ve read fan fiction that made more sense than this.
Only Mrs D. Williams can bring us a new look at The Knights of Camelot. Mythological and fairytale come alive. Nothing is what it seems. My lady Williams brings us back to kings and queen. Not only she can write Bada$$ Mc stories. She can take on legends and fantasy like no other. Now am waiting on my knight.
The set up of the series’s central conflict was really interesting, I feel like it just needed to be longer to flesh the story out more or have a little less sex. I won’t lie I’m not super into mates being central parts of the plot I rather them being more side plot, particularly to romance. I do think this book is setting up for a pretty interesting series though so I may continue the series at some point.
Freaking love this book and everything about it. Like the spicy and the character involved was everything to me In this book. Because I haven’t read that many books like this but I’m going to start reading now just because this book was so good.
