Finally!!!
I was previously concerned about the 1st book in the series
( and still am to an extent),
about the author using a 2nd group of people to survive Noah's flood.
I understand it is 'FICTION'...
but it is Christian fiction,
and so unbeliever, or brand new Christian,
'might' think that was scripturally true ( it is NOT).
In this 2nd book in the series he does at the end of the novel,
explain what is true,
and what is NOT true to the Bible etc.
So thank you author!! yeah!
Nevertheless,
I was about ready to.... NOT finish this novel....
then.....
I got to chapter 16...
and WOW!!!!!!!!
From there on, it was magnificent!!!!!
I loved loved love all the 'factual' Creation Science evidence!
I am a huge fan of Dr. Jason Lisle ( Young earth Christian astrophysicist)
So I knew a LOT of what the author included,
but there were some things I did NOT know!
It was so cool and blessed!!!!
And the story became a LOT more interesting.
I am enjoying the journey of the main character who is an atheist,
beginning to have his eyes opened to the truth.
So I will be reading the 3rd novel in the series.
I have begun to almost hate it when mothers praise their small children for the simplest thing
so I can't help but jokingly praise the author D. I. Hennessey with the same phrase:
'Good job' D. I.!!!!!
But really it was a very very good job!
I was so so so excited he included so many absolute FACTS of Creation,
in so many science disciplines.
( and thus it was praise to the Creator)!!!

The Niergel Chronicles is an excellent four-book series by D. I. Hennessey. It contains elements of "Lord of The Rings" type fantasy along with a strong underlying theme of Good vs Evil with a Christian-centered viewpoint. No, it is not a type of Narnia, it has a much more modern outlook and some technological elements are near Sci-Fi.
The book appears to be written for teens or young adults, but I still enjoyed them as a mid-sixties grandpa.
The only negative I would note for the series is a strange tendency for the interaction among the characters to often be in the present tense, as it might be written in a stage play including instructions to the actor, such as; "Bill walks directly toward the desk", rather than "Bill walked toward the desk" as would be used most often in literature. I never got used to this, but stopped being too annoyed by it while reading the third book in the series. I wonder if the author was a playwright in the past.
I do recommend this series for anyone who enjoys science fiction, "Lord of The Rings" or the Narnia Series, or modern thriller/adventure-type books. Be aware you will find no "woke" themes here and the characters and activities are definitely traditionally family-friendly.

Better and even more exciting than the first!
This book was excellent! I truly enjoyed the information concerning the geology, prehistoric animals, and our special planet, sun, and moon. I’m recommending it to my granddaughter knowing she will enjoy it as much as I did! God bless you Mr. Hennessy for including so much evidence for the skeptics who don’t believe in our Precious Father God, His Son and my Savior Jesus Christ, and His blessed Holy Spirit Who is my friend and conscience! Can’t wait to get into the next book!
