Witch Haven #3

Curses and Corpses

Rate this book
Can things get any weirder in Witch Haven?

It would seem so, since I’m in disguise, and hiding from my best friends and familiars.

Tasked with investigating why the dead are rising, I’m pulled in too many directions. My best friend is still missing, and the dark magic grows stronger. Throw in a few moldering corpses, and this witch needs a vacation!

Just as I’m making progress, everyone loses their memories apart from me and a jaded cemetery guardian. I’m on my own again. But this time, I won’t give up.

Will I survive this mystery, or will the corpses hold a marshmallow toasting celebration as I meet a fiery end?

K.E. O’Connor is the author of the Witch Haven mystery series, the Crypt Witch cozy mysteries, the Lorna Shadow ghost mysteries, the Holly Holmes baking mysteries, the Zee Town paranormal cozy series, and the Old Sarum mystery series, along with other titles available if you cast the right spell. She can imagine dragons, taste cookies when they aren’t even there, and hear the crack of a witch’s broom at a hundred paces.

She graduated from the Universities of Southampton and Reading, where she received degrees in Archaeology and Cognitive Evolution (both highly entertaining to take part in, but with the career options of a ground witch’s toe bone.)

Entertaining paranormal cozy mystery urban fantasy

This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery/urban fantasy series. I find cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Indigo ash is a witch the long with her stepmother many years ago did some bad things. She returns back to her hometown after all those years to take care of her family home after her stepmother died in prison. Things begin to happen and secrets start to leak out. Read on and see the adventures that are happening to indigo and her friends.

Ugh. O tried several times to continue reading this book but only got as far as 56%. It just kept getting weirder and I have node sire to go any further.

Amazon synopsis:
I’m in disguise, wearing leather pants, hiding from my friends and familiars, and getting too comfortable spending time with someone who should be my enemy.

Tasked with investigating why the dead have started rising, I’m being pulled in too many directions. My best friend is still missing, and the darkness grows stronger every day. Throw in a few moldering corpses, and this witch needs a vacation.

But there’s no time to rest. Especially not when I learn my best friend’s life is at risk. Just when we're making progress, everyone loses their memories, apart from me and an unhelpful cemetery guardian with a chip on her shoulder. I’m on my own again, but this time, I refuse to give up.

Will I survive this mystery, or will the corpses win and hold a marshmallow toasting celebration as I meet a fiery end?

what a conclusions. i had my suspicions but this was more than i expected and yet somehow less, the why of it all just seemed so petty.
still it made for a good and entertaining story
and i was very happy that she kept the romance very slow burn
it was such a relief really, right before starting this series, I'd started a few books, also paranormal cozy mysteries where i didn't get past the meet cute, maybe the 2nd meeting between h/H, because the minute the h was met with the H they turned into brainless, babbling, idiots... gag,
so yeah, maybe that didn't happen here

i have to say the writing was a bit repetitive at times, like reiterating the same points again and again
which truth be told has been a bit of an issue throughout the series so far.
some things didn't make a lot of sense
plus i was a bit annoyed by the heavy handed hints regarding her friends dark little secrets. save it for the teaser/ promo/ preview at the end

Non-stop hilarious witchyness !!

Fantastic fast paced and packed with witchy twists and turns. I got totally immersed in the story, I read all 3 books in 2 days. Freakish dolls, blood thirsty gnomes, sarcastic familiars, hilarious one liners, every paragraph takes you in deeper to , I can't wait to read more !!! But not saying more because it will spoil your imagination and the magical world that awaits you !!!

Fast paced keeps you on your toes. She pulls one over on the council, and almost gets killed more than twice. Secrets revealed and more secrets to fig out.

Indigo has a lot to do – later!!! IF she can keep her mouth shut……that is. Just remember that you can’t always trust your loved ones. I did enjoy this story and recommend the book.

This story moves quickly, but smoothly. We learn about how dark magic almost destroyed the town, as well as Indigo.
