This is such an interesting twist and turns book to read, starting to end this story kept on edge to know what is going to happen next.
This book is all about Tanvi and Raj, their soulmates and their love birds, soon they decided to get married and wanted to have a perfect life without getting any distractions or drama in their beautiful journey. While living a peaceful life, Tanvi's maid whose name is Ganga Tai, made her confused about Raj and she put many circulations about Raj, it's frustrating when I read that, everyone can feel that, when someone is going to take a step in their life if other people say something about that, it's really sad and they'll think about it right, they have delusional about their decision, if it's right or not.
While Tanvi had so many thoughts about Raj and their marriage and she started to think, about whether it was the right time to get married and whether Raj is the one for her. And all. So much going on in her life, and suddenly out of nowhere, Tanvi found a dead man in her kitchen, she has no idea what the heck is going on and who is that man, lying on the floor deadly, how come this man's dead body came from and all?
When it comes to investigating this mystery case, a body found in Tanvi's flat, she will be the one who did the murder. It's such a hell for Tanvi, who didn't know anything about the man and all, to read this book to find out what happens next in the story, how Tanvi going to prove her innocent and all.
I must say, I'm impressed with this plot line, I like to watch mystery movies and all, and reading mystery is something new for me, this story keeps getting so interesting, I was like is this going to happen in Tanvi's life? Like what the hell man, after knowing about who is behind all this case and all, I'm like, waah, the author did a great job hiding the answers in the book.

It's been long since I've read a drama-thriller so it was a good experience. I must say that exploring new authors is good. This was my first book by Ms Nisha Thakur and I wasn't dissatisfied.
Cover: The colour is all over red. Now red can be symbolised as the colour of pain, fear, blood etc. And the book has it all.
About: The story is of Tanvi who was once dreaming about getting married to the love of his life and now she is a prime suspect as someone ended up dead in her kitchen. She didn't even know how and when it happened. Is it all a conspiracy? All over what is it? Read and find out.
Final Verdict: The story has drama, action and thriller packed. Every chapter is gripping. As it is written in colloquial language English, it would be easy to read and understand. The last few pages were super exciting.

The story opens with a happy moment for two of the novel's protagonists, Tanvi and Raj, who are on vacation, celebrating their eighth anniversary. They both seem to be happily in love and are raring to marry. The next chapter brings their celebrations to a halt. A dead body is discovered in their very own home, and neither they nor their best friends Neha and Adi know who the person was.
Now, the author pitches us into the past to show who these four main characters were and how they met each other and came to be as they are now. So descriptive and engrossing were their tales that when we came back to the present, more than half the book was already over. The declaration of the dead man's identity was a jolt—I had completely forgotten that someone had been killed and this was supposed to be a murder mystery.
No one seemed to have any relation to this victim. I was quite skeptical about getting a satisfactory ending to the mystery within the remaining pages. But, the author did pull it through-It's as convoluted a solution to murder as it can be. The 'who' was not really as shocking to me as the 'how'.
Really weird typos proved to be irksome while reading, like night used in place of nine, or curial instead of crucial. The majority of the novel was simply character build-up and their histories. The actual efforts of detectives and police were wrapped up in comparatively very few statements. The reveal was done in a pretty dramatic way, with secrets peeling off in layers. You get chills when you read a crime thriller because the reader is kept in suspense and doesn't know who committed the crime. You get shivers just thinking about this narrative since you can't figure out who the genuine bad guy is.
The story begins with Tanvi and Raj, who have been dating for eight years before Raj finally asked Tanvi to marry him. All is well with Tanvi and Raj, except for the time that Tanvi visits her hometown with Raj. She was absolutely surprised when she discovered a dead body in her apartment. Because no one knows who the deceased individual is or who murdered him, there is suspense around his death in this scenario. Ganga Tai is a further character. Her personality adds interest to this tale. You will be utterly stunned at the conclusion of this narrative when you discover who killed the victim. You can't even hazard a guess that this might be the true offender.I gave this story my full attention as I read it.

As you might know, i am a big fan of thrillers especially murder mysteries so this was a must read book for me.
The book starts where a dead body is found in Tanvi's house but the twist is noone from the family knows the dead person. Then, the story goes into past tense to know the characters from scratch. Then in second half, the search for real killer starts by police inspector Yash and his assistant Sakha.
Although the length of the story is long compared to what i read recently, I was curious to know the real culprit. And wow, last few pages revealed the motive and killer and then everything made sense about who did what and why.
I enjoyed the story thoroughly. The characters are strongly developed. The narration is gripping. The language is lucid. I would appreciate the author to write such a wonderful thriller. This is a must read for any thriller lover and definitely recommended.

In the story, Tanvi is now fulfilling her dream after years of adversity. The love of her life, Raj, has asked her to marry him, and everything is going swimmingly. It appears that her love has overcome all of the challenges. But sadly, her joy is short-lived when she comes across a dead body. She discovered a man's suicide in her kitchen.
Now what happened next? Who could be that person? To know more just go through this book. Loved the way author has explained everything.

The Unexpected Trail by Nisha B Thakur floats between romantic suspense and romantic thriller. There is difference between both the genres, especially of scope. The plot of a romantic suspense novel is directly related to the characters involved, while in romantic thriller, the characters are caught up in larger-scale intrigue. Clearly, it is a fine romantic thriller. Many could also pass it as crime thriller cum murder mystery…but a reader into books knows its true genre.
Tanvi and Raj lead as characters. The former builds the setting and ambience of the story as one person is found dead in her house. Another thing is that all characters sided with her. Raj was alone. Yet he was never compromised or looked dull. He faced their rejection with grit of character. One reason was that he was in love with Tanvi. However, as the court proceedings begin and inspector Yash got behind the case, the true colours of the characters will intrigue you in a most unexpected way. Except Tanvi, no one was naïve…though the family history of all was disturbing and has had effect on their contemporary life. But dark secrets, family allegiance, and greed and revenge and unbridled aspirations define them from time and over. Adi and Ganga Tai were impressive but highly vulnerable characters. Tanvi was honest, while Raj was powerful but equally clever and shrewd. The novel is readable with all literary aspects.

SeIt's a Romantic thriller full of wonders in its sentences, full of suspense, full of romance, full of twists and turns, full of magic, everything in a place.
The beginning of this book is extremely Romantic and filmy. Both the couple, Tanvi and Raj, went on a trip to Mahabaleshwar and celebrate their eight years of togetherness. In the evening, at sunset point, Raj proposes to his beloved Tanvi in a perfectly Bollywood style(sitting on his knees). I just loved that moment.
Now, here is a twist guys. After returning happily from the trip, all their happiness turned into scaredness . Tanvi saw a dead body in her kitchen. Now here all the thrillers, suspense, twists and turns begin.
I enjoyed and felt each line of this
wonderful book. The writing was captivating, The characters were believable and I cared about them .The plot had so many twists and turns I couldn't put the book down. Now, it's your turn to read this amazing book.

I downloaded this book on Kindle one day. It’s a bit slow in the starting but paces up when a dead body is discovered in the house of the lead character Tanvi. She is an adorable person but trusts too much on Raj, her lover, on her maid Ganga Tai, friend Neha, and a few more people.
In some sarcastic strokes of narration, I found myself guffawing to discover that Ganga Tai, her maid, makes her life miserable by forcing labels on her. But the sad truth is that she was way more than a maid, a mother…like a mother. Ganga Tai She doesn't want Tanvi to live with Raj. If you read the book till the last page, many revelations will shock you. Specially the Soma and Raj connection! After the murder of Deven, the novel sees many characters that makes the story engrossing but complicated too.
True love stays, well wishers are fine, but those who were bad and vile land up in trouble. The way dark family secrets are kept hidden is amazing and looks like a part of some vampire story.
The author is exceptional with her writing skills, the way she portrays all characters without mingling each one's role is worth notable. Language, pace and drama of families is exquisite. It casts fascinating impact, as the book turns out something in the end. A good book for any given day. Highly recommended for an array of readers across some thrilling genres.

The central character of this story is Tanvi. The story begins with her happiness and excitement because her boyfriend Raj has proposed to take this relationship into a new journey in life. She was on cloud seven. This all happened in Mahabaleshwar. After returning home, Tanvi was shocked when she found a dead body in her kitchen.
Who was that man? How did he enter? Why on earth he had to end up in Tanvi's kitchen?
The way the author has explained each and every circumstance of this story feels very realistic. She has penned down every single required detail in a perfect situation. It was a very comfortable read and definitely a page-turner. Beginners can pick it for sure because it is a fast-read story.
The only thing I found off was character introductions. That could be more smooth within the story. Otherwise, the author has nailed it.

A close look at the cover reveals much of the insights about the novel – for instance the man dead on a chair and the blurring punch line stating murder in the building. It explains a lot about the overall plotline. In other words, it could be gauged that the author is writing a series of murder mystery and this one is staged against one particular building. Indeed it is, as the murder takes place in the flat of Tanvi, the protagonist. She is framed and taken as a main culprit. But the reality was otherwise. Except she, everyone whom she knew and adored and loved were directly or indirectly involved, if not with the murder but with some dark happenings.
The novel starts as something else, then sounds a romance flick, but towards end it is about family's dark history and putting oneself above love and relations.
The story builds credibility of Tanvi and her boyfriend Raj for much time. However, other characters popped in regularly and they are introduced invariably. The novel has an objective, direction, and is particularly well thought out and perfectly executed. Had it been a bit short, it could have been more a pleasure reading.

It looks like a romance novel but turns out to be an engrossing murder mystery with shades of crime and suspense thriller. Nonetheless, the novel’s main characters Tanvi and Raj are someone who keeps nudging the ‘love factor’ in its backdrop.
They meet and turned into lovers. Both ready for marriage, live in relationship, staying at the same flat. What went wrong? An untimely death of someone in their flat’s kitchen. They and others who live and frequent the place behave like naïve guys. Refused to identify the dead person Deven.
The connections are deep, underlying, families are tested for their dark history, friends turn foe, Tanvi has to learn the hard way to put herself abreast and first than others, including Raj, who was planning to invest her money in a big business.
The novel scores high on the amalgamation of aspects like love, hope, redemption, and lies. Self interest is more powerful than expectations and hope from others. It is way potent than all things that bind love and family. What I learned from the book is - "you should put yourself ahead of your loved one." I strongly recommend this book to all who love thrillers, suspense, and mystery. The whole book hooked the reader till the end.

The connections are deep, underlying, families are tested for their dark history, friends turn foe, Tanvi has to learn the hard way to put herself abreast and first than others, including Raj, who was planning to invest her money in a big business.
The novel scores high on the amalgamation of aspects like love, hope, redemption, and lies. Self interest is more powerful than expectations and hope from others. It is way potent than all things that bind love and family. What I learned from the book is - "you should put yourself ahead of your loved one." I strongly recommend this book to all who love thrillers, suspense, and mystery. The whole book hooked the reader till the end.

I chanced upon this book on Kindle free books read. The Unexpected Trail by Nisha B Thakur is a flowy and lucid read. It is a story of Tanvi and Raj, who are in relationship for over 8 years. As they plan to marry, their wedding preparations take a back seat when an actress' husband is found dead in Tanvi's kitchen. The novel has more of inside feeling and hate insights of characters than the normal police procedural.
Other than Raj and Tanvi, characters like Neha, Adi, Soma, and Kajal maintain their presence throughout the story. Despite having a long list of characters, the novel does not lose its focus of being a story with substantial subplots.

What a performance by the author. I have been following Nisha for some time. She is one of the regular authors and publishes books on Amazon Kindle. At times short stories and romance novels, and then also exciting crime thrillers!
This novel totally took me by surprise as I dived in for a murder mystery. Ironically, it was bang on a wonderful mixture of some riveting crime thriller with murder investigation and that on and off romantic love affair of Tanvi and Raj – overall a splendid session. In a surprising turn of events Raj is not liked by Ganga Tai and Neha and others that are like a family to Tanvi. People hating him swirls the story left and right but it resorts to its focus of thriller with a murder mystery with romance working as a banter in the backdrop. Happy to put that the novel was clean off erotic content!

The Unexpected Trail by Nisha B Thakur is a fabulous book on shades of relationships, love, family bonding and finally a murder mystery also. The story is staged against the cosmopolitan culture of Mumbai. Raj and Tanvi meet each other in one company. However, Raj’s duration in that company was short due to hostile nature of Neha, Tanvi’s friend.
Anyway, Raj moves on to a rival company but keeps in touch with Tanvi. Neha and Ganga Tai, maid of Tanvi who acts like a mother, don’t like Raj. Tanvi could not resist going away from Raj. However, as the story reaches mid crises, it comes out that both are in love but not blind for each other.
Raj and Tanvi are one part of the story along with auxiliary characters like Neha, Adi, Yash, and Ganga Tai. The other part is subtle, it’s about Soma and Deven and their son Neil. Soma is a famous Bollywood actress with no bonding with her husband Deven. They live apart, but Deven is sad and depressed.
The Soma angle resurfaces in the story in the end to put a twisting and unexpected trail in the story. The title is apt because Tanvi is dragged for no reason in a murder case. The trial for murder takes each character into unexpected misery. But remember, where there is love sizzling, family issues arise –revenge is just round the corner.
The plot is nicely layered, with no confusion of characters. The labyrinth of crimes is partly solved by Raj. However, dark secrets of many characters didn’t surface at the trial room. Silently characters were trying to outpace one another, even though they were in love. But moral of the story is that one should not love blindly. This book, The Unexpected Trail: Murder In The Building written by Nisha Thakur is a nail biting read. From the very beginning, until the end, this story is so engaging. Moreover, the narration style actually tickles our curiosity and the mind keeps thinking about - ''what comes next !''

Thriller books cannot be ignored, especially with a blend of romantic thrillers with crime & murder mystery. Recently, I finished ‘The Unexpected Trail’ by Nisha B Thakur, the more I appreciate it, the less it’s going to be. The novel available on Kindle competes with some big names in India in its genres like Chetan Bhagat, Salil Chaudhary, and so on. The novel offers a fascinating story where a naive lead character Tanvi is dragged as a prime suspect when an unknown person is found dead in her kitchen. Many involved but it needs a proper investigation. But when it commences, people are thrown into the maze of blame game. Undoubtedly, the novel scores high on family drama, allegiance, and retribution. A class to read, indeed.

When anyone flips open a mystery novel, what do they expect? Perhaps it is an electrifying tale that keeps them speculating on who the culprit is. The finest mystery books are those with inventive scatterings of clues along the way that brings out the inner detective in the reader. Arguably, the best feeling the reader gets when reading a crime novel is being faced with a sufficiently difficult puzzle and yet still being able to jump up and shout “I knew it!” when the final reveal comes around.
The Unexpected Trail by Nisha B Thakur is a murder mystery. The novel is the story of Tanvi who is living a nearly perfect life. She is about to get married to Raj, the love of her life soon. The only pain at the moment is Ganga Tai, her maid who makes her life miserable as she doesn’t feel that Raj is the perfect match for Tanvi. The nearly perfect life of Tanvi goes for a toss when all of a sudden there is a dead body of a man in her kitchen and the man is unknown to anyone related to Tanvi. The wedding plans are derailed like a train from the rails and her life goes to hell when Tanvi is suspected to be the one who has murdered the unknown man.
A book of around 200 pages which can be read in a single sitting is written in a very gripping way and hold the reader to the end. The author is excellent with her writing skills, the way she describes all characters without mixing each one's role is commendable. The language, pace and drama of the people and the families involved are superb.
A recommended galvanic read with twists and turns will keep the reader hooked.

Suspense Thriller is my all time favroite genre. This is a genre which pulls me out of the reading slumps. I laid my hands on this Indian Suspense thriller after a long time. The story revolves around Tanvi and Raj and story begins when a dead body is found in Tanvi's kitchen.
The book contains a lot of twist and follows and interesting story line. Tanvi finds herself facing serious allegations and doubts about people she trusts. The revelations will keep you hooked. What all things love can make you do and how it blurs the line of morality can be seen in this book. Language is easy to follow and beginners would enjoy it. Grammatical error can be a factor for some. It felt like watching an episode of CID most of the times. The inspector played an important role in that I guess. I felt that the story is mostly concentrated towards the end of the book and the backstory took so long that I actually forgot having murder to solve. It would be more fun if they dropped in some more story about the present time and solving the issue. Felt pity for Raj though. Poor guy would never know what happened and how this patriacial thoughts were baseless. Maybe its aptly name as "Unexpected Trial" because the revelations were never expected from the story.
