Is Maya a sly antagonist determined to keep us shackled in our own inner chains? Or is she another name for the game of life, where we could be a master player or a hapless pawn?
Be it the common man who finds Maya synonymous with materialism, or the spiritual man who accords Maya some esoteric imagery, all fail to comprehend her. She is elusive by definition.
Spirituality today has largely become another form of entertainment. However, Acharya Prashant takes us towards a genuine understanding of Maya as she plays out in our daily lives. Drawing on Vedantic seers and philosophers from all ages he makes ageold wisdom accessible in a modernday context. In this book author brings out the essence of the term Maya, by which he unravels the metaphorical term in his explanation that talks about Maya's relationship with our day to day Life.
He actually talks a lot about having a well balanced life with connection to both spiritual and materialistic factors that helps us lead a life that satisfies us. However I felt there are places that were repeated and found it a little bored.
The book is of moderate length, however if you love reading such self helps that takes you into the topic, this book is recommended.
The way author explains things about life from his perspective, it made me feel like hearing out to one mentor's speech. As Author himself has given so many speeches, he has definitely brought in some concepts in this book from his earlier speeches.
The book cover looks classy and elegant. The title goes well with the content. The narration was professional and good. Overall it was a decent self help book.
Author Prashant Acharya through his book, Maya: I Bow to Thee, You Cannot be Overcome, made an effort to bring us closer to the meaning of Maya and its effects and attributes in human life. For me, it was the very first work of the author that I read and got a closer view of the world of MAYA. Maya – A topic well explained in this book. People with a strong inclination toward spirituality will find the book worth a read. But due to the slow pace of the content, and over-explained chapters I give this book a rating of 3.5/5.
Consisting of 35 chapters, this book is pretty much a written version of the various conversations the author has had with his audiences who are from different backgrounds. The questions asked are intriguing and the amswers given are thought provoking.
