Alexandria Clarke is a writer, cat lover, and all-around optimist. She loves to immerse her readers in mystery and intrigue, meaningful friendships, and the worlds of characters who learn by doing. When she's not writing, Alex enjoys playing guitar, watching Wynonna Earp, and spending time with her family. She currently lives in Orlando, Florida with her partner and their four pets.
The story is a good read. It move a long at a good pace. The writer brings the characters to life. They all have flippen mouth on them which adds to the mix.
I enjoyed this book. It had a lot of twists and turns in the plot, but the title did not conform to the story line. From the title I expected to be reading a book about a kidnapping mystery. This is so far from what this book was about.
The Stolen Child gives us the back story of deputy Lux Bern and her family trauma, while at the same time, takes us through 2 murder investigations. It has Juicy and twisty plot lines, surprising turns of events and a bit of forensics thrown in. We say goodby to some familiar characters and a cautious hello to others. I like Lux Bern’s character the same way I like Michael Bennett from James Patterson’s novels. I hope Alexandria Clark continues this series, there are still some threads hanging!
I usually "listen" to stories to fall asleep. This one caught my attention, so I sat up and actually read this one. It is an interesting concept of being corrupted by money, then saved without it. Making your way to adulthood is hard for everyone. So this is that journey.
This continues on from the previous book so really would listen to that first and not as a standalone. The way it finishes on a cliffhanger is just waiting for book 3.
Overall I enjoyed listening and the series is good, what put me off was the editing there was quite a few duplicated sentences which put me off listening a bit- needs to be tighter.
I really did like this book it kept me intrigued. I just wanted more at the end. It just seemed to end so fast! I’m hoping for another instalment about Lux and her life as a detectives!
I enjoyed this book because the storyline was not one of 50 + themes that are used in hundreds of mystery books. Several of the women were strong, independent females with a non-typical job. I would recommend this book to any mystery book lover. Sharon
A deeply involved mystery that moves in many detours.
I kept reading and traveling thru the many parts of this story. When I got to the end it was a complete surprise. You will have to stick with it to the end just to see the solution.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Stlen Child by Alexandria Clarke. Her easy going writing style, coupled with a little humor and a hint of sarcasm makes the reading flow. No real surprises as detective stories go.
There was no stolen child, no abduction. The plot is stupid. The plot is full of completely unrealistic police procedures. Waste of time. I'm glad it was free on Kindle so I didn't get waste money.
