Sleazy by Tatiana Timmons had me questioning everyone from beginning to end. Naomi’s story starts with heartbreak and survival, but once Kwame steps in, nothing is as simple as it looks.
The twist in this book left me reeling. That love triangle had me so damn confused about who I should trust because everybody had a secret agenda. The streets were grimy, the choices were messy, and Naomi felt like she was carrying the weight of it all alone. I honestly felt bad for her.
What I loved most was how Timmons wove grit and tenderness together. The story doesn’t shy away from the chaos of 90s LA, but it still makes space for loyalty, ambition, and the complicated ways love shows up when you least expect it.
A bold and twisty ride where nothing is black and white, and love might be the most dangerous gamble of all.
Everybody connected and didn’t know is like 6 degrees of separation. I enjoyed the way the twists unfolded and the character development. I just hate the cliffhanger lol I need like 2-3 more chapters.
Tatiana don't miss. This story was so messy and I loved every minute of it. Everyone was SLEAZY had me questioning every character. It definitely gave a 90's type of love and betrayal. Everyone had a secret agenda and nobody was loyal. However I felt bad for Naomi.
This was so good! Filled with action, betrayal, lies, secrets you name it! Everyone one was connected or linked in some kinda of way! There are so many twist and turns and honestly I don’t know who I was rooting for! Juice although he made some not so great decisions, I feel like I was on his side so much more than the others! I know one thing I can’t stand Malik. Ugh this was a good read but I wonder if there’s an update or something because what happened after the end? lol
HAHAHAHAHA...hunni not my Zoo Queen Tati dropping something so gritty, so twisted, so messy… and then hitting us with THAT ENDING. Whew chile, only she could pull that off and have me cackling, gasping, AND clutching my imaginary pearls all at once.
From the jump, this book had me in a chokehold. I was over here trying to figure out how everybody was connected, and just when I thought I had it all mapped out....boom, Tati spins the block with a twist that had me rethinking everything I just read.
Now listen, not all the connections were clean-cut. Some of these people had tangled ties and shady secrets, and I loved that for them. 😂 Because that’s real life, right? Folks out here with lives crumbling to pieces behind the scenes, but you’d never know it from the mask they show the world.
But let’s talk about that ending. In my best corporate voice: “Let’s circle back…” MA’AM. Tati, why would you DO US like that?! 😭
This book was an absolute masterpiece! The plot was incredibly intricate, and “sleazy” couldn’t have been amore fitting title. From the very first page, I was hooked, and simply couldn’t put it down. Juice, Malik, Dante, and Kwame were the epitome of sleaziness! Iesha was nothing short of a money-hungry opportunist, while Carmen and Naomi were heartbreakingly gullible. I give it a 10 out of 10.
Tati always gives us an excellent book. There was so much drama. It kept me turning the pages. The street life can cause you to do so many things. You never know who really is being truthful to you. The plot had me on the edge of my seat.
This was a great read. I was entertained until the last word on the last page. So many twist and turns. This author can write and does not leave no stone unturned! I love this group of characters. Encore please !!!
This book was action packed. Full of drama and deceit. Every character had an agenda and was being SLEAZY!!! Tatiana never disappoints! She always gives us an action packed story with characters you love. Although in this story I was side eyeing everyone!
