Three books in three days, and this third book in the series did not disappoint, all I’m saying is I need more Luther. This is basically one long book that’s been split into six parts. It’s unputdownable and so spicy!

Recommend if you love spicy reverse harem fantasy!

All hell breaks loose in this third instalment as events progress further and Nova moves closer towards her destiny. We do get some answers but there’s still a lot unsaid and this harem is still evolving. This one was also definitely the spiciest so far, not sure if it was maybe at times too much but still, I did mostly enjoy myself and found this an easy read.

I’m intrigued regarding Luther but still not sure about Sam, overall this had more positives than negatives and I liked the finale so looking forward to starting the next book.

Objectively this series is nothing new, nothing special , full of cliché and fast paced urban fantasy...
But it still got me hooked so I keep on reading

Ashes - book 3 in The Phoenix Prophecy series and it definitely shows no signs of running out of steam. Both in and out of bedroom. Which are so flaming good but its the outstanding plot twist that ive enjoyed throughout this series that have kept me gripped. There are some brilliant ones in this book too. My goodness though the sexual tension between Nova (FMC) and Luther was just off of the charts hot!! The sex club part was hot as hell! Im kinda glad that Luther got some one on one book time with Nova but seriously i cant wait for him to embrace his feeling for Nova. Hes taking his flaming time, lol.

Another cracking cliffhanger ending to this book which left me wanting more. I cant praise this series up enough and im enjoying every minute reading it

Another gripping installment to this series and it drops you right back into the story, so if you haven't read the previous two make sure you read them in order or you will get lost!
Again another cliffhanger but there are more books to come in the series so it's inevitable really.
The twist and turns continue so at this point I really do have no idea where the story will go from here.
I love the characters and how we are getting to know them more, there are also new characters being introduced with each book and am looking forward to how they fit in with the story.
I am really enjoying the ride and can't wait for the next installment.

Still unsure what’s about to happen.
But I’m liking the characters.
Everything is moving along a lot fast than I though they would with a 6 book series. But I’m not exactly complaining about it.
I’m really enjoying all the smut and the confidence Nova has.
But I’m still hoping that she gets more emotionally close with each of the men before the series is done, because right now, there’s a lot left unsaid about a Lot.

DNF

Got a couple of chapters in and decided to DNF. For me, Nova isn’t that likable. Nova is just not smart. She does not make smart decisions. Then to coddle her and tell her the fire wasn’t her fault just wasn’t accurate at all. It very much was her fault. It was definitely a mistake but still her fault. And I find it hard to believe that Johnny never made her mad enough before to spark a flame. The chemistry isn’t really there for me and I found myself rolling my eyes multiple time throughout the series. A lot of holes in the plot.

Damnnnnnnnn that smut is burn the world hot!!! And I don't understand how the author didn't lose the flow of the plot and keep it so spicy!!!

The characters and world build are strong. Written with POV from both good, bad, confused sides. You get pulled right into the world. So when the smut hits you have front row seats and boy am I happy to camp out to get these seats again!!! MM, MFMM smut, all hot!!! So so soooooo hot 🔥 🥵

I love that the plot is not some simple thing that's gets lost pretending to be the main plot while the smut is the real show. Nope, this plot is enough to stand on its own without the smut and be a good read. With it, it's a great book.

Nova, Kole, Tanner, Mac and Luther...and more to come

Nova is finding who she is and growing in power within and magical. She knows who she wants but isn't afraid to open her heart. Even after everything she's been through.
Strong FMCs, open and inclusive MCs, all alphas in their own right, and even if someone refuses to see it. All are hers to enjoy and love. Why choose 😉 no, don't choose 😏

Trigger warnings
- domestic and mental abuse mentioned
- slavery type ownership mentioned

Wow what a book..
Only took me less then a day to finish it is just that good!

The story picks up where the previous book stopped which i found very helpfull made getting back into the story super easy.

At first i was so sure about Nico but as the chapters gone by doubt crept in, and then boom it all made sence.

I loved this book so so much i had forgotten how fun and hot the moments between Nova, Kole, Tanner and Mack are, a bit more indept details on the sexy times would be nice, altho they are graphic and i enjoyed them.

Am rooting for Luther and want to smack him too kept yelling at my tablet for him to just go for it, but im pretty sure Nova would need to make the first move there.

Overal this book is perfection and eventho the clifhanger made me go aaargh i stil loved it.

I cant wait to see what the fourth book will bring!

”Lie back, let me make you spark”
I am feral for this series right now. So grateful all of the books are out and I don’t have to wait bc these cliffhangers got me 🧗‍♀️😵‍💫

The spice in this book is so good! 🥵🥵🥵 at times it might seem out of place but it’s always so well written and the amount of ⚔️ we get throughout the book and in proportion to the group activities is PERFECTION!!! Couldn’t ask for more!

Pretty sure we gained our lucky #5 in this book and I’m excited to see how that unfolds.

Nico - you know what you did 🤬
Sam - I love you and you deserve everything good this world has to offer. 🥹🐺

@caraclareauthor you are 𝕂𝕀𝕃𝕃𝕀ℕ𝔾 me! I am hooked on this series and don’t want it to end. This book was filled with even more smut and drama.

Nova is such a good, strong female character but she is definitely enjoying the attention she’s getting from Mack, Kole and Tanner… and slightly from Luther. He’s taking a little while longer to get used to her.

The drama in this book was fantastic. I am so glad they found out about Nico before it was too late but I have to say, he hid it 𝓢𝓞 well. He even had me fooled slightly. I wasn’t 100% sure he was who he said he was but I did have some slight doubts.

Then there was the Luther and Kole scene 🥵🤯 I just can’t. I didn’t expect that from Luther. He is starting to show his true colours and give us a little insight into more of who he is and what he wants.

I am LOVING this series and already reading Embers!

This was almost my breaking point. I love this series so I can power through things that may make me question things, but it's too good to stop mid series. I do love how things are progressing with Luther, but that ending, I had to take a break for an hour. But I am still going to continue, and besides that setback, I still love this series!

The third book in the series and...I still feel like there is not enough OMG end of the world...but I feel like it's coming. This book ended on a note of Oh No!.

Some of the things I didn't like about this book, was the out of nowhere spice scenes. I don't wanna give out any spoilers, so I'll put them in a spoiler section below, but they do literally come out of nowhere.. like.. the author just wanted to get these certain people to do something sex related.. so lets do it and add an after thought of "oh yeah, it's rare but we like it" to make up for the suddenness of it. Don't get me wrong... the scenes were... *Chefs kiss*…but extremely unnecessary, I feel.

First and foremost! This series goes in order, leaving off on cliffhangers that the next book picks up after. So, if you haven't read, "Nova: The Phoenix Prophecy Book One" and "Blaze: The Phoenix Prophecy Book Two", go read them first. Otherwise, this review will contain spoilers and be a bit confusing.

"Shit. A badge. . .fire mage is a cop." - Nico

After escaping the hotel of "fun", Nova and her mages are back together. Only with a new face in the ranks. . . The guys do not trust Nico as far as they can throw him, and I am pretty sure "Polar Daddy" could launch Nico into Phoenix Falls from The Hollow without breaking a sweat.

Nova believes she has found a part of her past she thought to have been lost. With the pressing matters of the new leaked video and both groups coming for her, Nova has bigger things to worry about. Will her and her guys be safe? Can they convince the Bureau she isn't a coldblooded killer? And where has Luther run off to? Not that she should care since he hasn't exactly approved of her. . .

"Do I detect a note of jealousy in your voice, Baloo?" - Nova

Ugh, the professor is playing so hard to get! Though I am wondering how long he will last with both Tanner and Nova coming after him. . . I love that the author has different builds between the main characters. Not all of them just instantly being Nova's and having the clearcut romance arc. But my goodness, Professor!

I loved how this book showed more build and dynamic between Nova, Kole, and Tanner. Along with the newness of a relationship and not being able to keep your hands to yourself. Plus, Nova's breaking free of her suffocating shell/past and coming to know who she truly is!

I am really enjoying the trios' dynamics and Kole's dominant nature. You can also tell that Tanner and Kole have rubbed off on each other by how Tanner sometimes talks. Also, how Kole is perfectly fine if Nova decides she wants his other brothers but placing his foot down with someone new. Making sure feelings are genuine and not just simply lust filled.

This may be a spoiler, but I was grinning from ear to ear when I saw the scene with the group, including Nova, fighting together! The fact that Nova isn't at full percent makes it more exciting for the future books in the series. When her and her mages are fully battle ready and unleashing hell!

I really love Nico and my heart breaks when you find out more about his past. He's not cut out for what he has been tasked to do but he's trying his best. Was even surprised by a quick part with his character. He also came up with great nicknames for the guys of The Hollow.

The group helps to teach and train Nova with things, helping to control her emotions that are linked to her magick.

"It's harder for fire mages. Our emotions live closer to the surface. We run hot." - Luther

I was shocked by Luther in the book. Though I am not completely sold on him just yet. I do not hate his character and feel like there's going to be a big moment of clarity with him in the books to come. I think after the last book, you can tell Luther's starting to soften, just slightly around the edges. There was a scene in the book involving Luther and another character I didn't expect! Intense scene and I loved it. Luther also has a little surprise with his character design that had me smirking.

There's a scene in the book where a couple of the main characters have to visit a certain club that caters to "interesting" fetishes. The author doesn't go into great detail about a certain one that the main characters unwillingly witness it. There's a reason for them being there and seeing it, but I cannot go into detail. Just a little fair warning.

Loved the continuation of multiple POVs along with just continuous build of relationships. Whether good or bad ones! Seeing more back stories to characters and how they became who we see in the current present. Language is in the book as well as violence and slight gore. Close proximity trope, age gap trope, possible enemies to lovers, biting, role reversals, and some others I may be forgetting.

The book does NOT disappoint in the spice area. There was one scene of someone being guided through things and. . .you may need a cold shower after reading it. We have all kinds of action in the book! MF, MFM, MM, and MFMM. There's debate amongst the community about using RH tags. Simply this book is a why choose and the guys are devoted to the female love interest. Only the men are not shy and willingly give each other a hand. . .

This installment of the series is very good and just I love the constant building of plot and characters! Cara Clare's doing an amazing job with the series, and I cannot wait for the end of October 2022! These books end on cliffhangers. Love that Cara also included the "cellar scene" from Kole's POV originating from book one! Along with little recaps of the previous reads to refresh the memory.

Enjoy the read with magick, radical groups, sinfully handsome men, a strong female lead with curves, and so much more! Don't forget to give the author some stars!

"He does not hate you." "Ah. He does." I lean over and kiss her cheek. "Maybe. But it doesn't matter. I love you enough for two people." Book 1 pg. 247

***Spoilers Ahead***

I did end up finishing this series despite the rating being 3/5. (It's worth noting that I automatically give 3 stars if I FINISH a book, because my ADD will not let me finish something I don't REALLY like.) I did like the books overall, I think the biggest reason I finished was because of how much I liked the characters. I usually don't mind a good insta-love story, especially when it comes to fated mates, because it makes sense with fated mates. However, it wasn't yet accepted that they were fated mates and already one of them was telling the FMC that she loved him. Which is just kind of cringy to me? I just felt like the overall plot was almost an afterthought. The world wasn't really explained as much as I would have liked, leaving me confused in some areas. There were also some chapters that were from the villain's POV. Which I don't mind, but it was kind of a curveball and I had no idea what was happening and had to read the chapter twice. I loved the love stories between the characters, and I think there is a lot of potential for the fantasy plot aspect it just felt lacking. Like we kept leading to something great just to be a bit let down.

Note to the author: there needs to be a better trigger warning, please!

Nova has survived being beaten, raped, and branded by her boyfriend. One night when she is sure he will finally go to far an kill her, something ignites inside her, literally. The next thing she knows her apartment, her boyfriend, and herself are on fire. She somehow ends up completely unharmed. Only problem is, she lives in a city that is run by the Anti Magick Alliance so when the paramedics notice her clothes are burned but she is not, the whispers start. Luckily, her neighbor shows up to help her get out of the city before she is classified a witch and burned at the stake (maybe literally?) for using her powers against a human. Her neighbor drops her off at the bus station, gives Nova her coat and $200 and tells her to flee.

She flees to Phoenix Falls where she meets a group of men that take an instant interest in her well being. Kole, a seer and earth mage that is a recovering blood addict. Mack, the "daddy" of the group, professor, sheriff, and a polar bear shifter! Tanner, a water mage, and more importantly an empath that knows what Nova needs before she does. And Luther, a fire mage and officer in Mack's department.

They are convinced that she is part of a prophecy that will save supes and humans alike from the shadow king that is determined to return to earth to rule, and he isn't working alone. He has a the Human Extinction League, led by Ragnor, to help him return. And he is willing to do and use whoever he needs to, to accomplish it. Including his son, Nico.

Nico is a celebrity known for trying to bring supes and humans together, he also happens to look a hell of a lot like Sam, the foster brother Nova thinks she killed when she was a child. When Nova is led to believe Nico IS Sam, she risks everything to protect him. Luckily, she has her men around to save her from continuing to make the mistake of trusting him. But trusting him led to her finding out that, although Nico isn't Sam, Sam is still alive. Nova and her men are determined to find and save him.

Nova is lucky enough to have these four men in her life to help her not only survive, but also fulfill the prophecy she still isn't convinced she is a part of. There is just one problem, the prophecy calls for **5** mates. With how she is feeling towards Sam now that they are older, it makes sense that he is the fifth mate in the prophecy, and with the voice that keeps speaking to them telling them to find "the wolf shifter" it can only mean him, right?

The six of them must be willing to do whatever it takes to save everyone and everything from the shadow king, including sacrificing each other. Will their love help them on their journey? Or prevent them from doing what is necessary to succeed?

omg

this is my favorite book in the series so far. the spice has gotten a bit better and GIRL. the group scenes are killing me. actually, they could be a bit better but still eat them up. so happy to see more scenes with Mack, but i do miss Snow.

This book starts off in Nico’s pov where we see he just wants to make his parents proud and do as they say. he lusts over nova which made me think he was going to be part of the five and even had me thinking he was actually her long lost brother (foster brother for a year when they were like, 6). but he turned out to be bad. i’m so happy everyone else realized he couldn’t be trusted. the whole book they’re trying to figure out a way to protect nova and literally getting nowhere. there a lot of planning but no actual motions. just fear and sex😭 there’s a scene where mack, tanner and kole are together and kole bites nova and starts drinking her blood (which allows them both to see a vision of where her actual foster brother, Sam, is!) but kole got a little carried away. Luther comes back after talking to Sara and you know, actually doing something useful, and he got so pissed that they were having sex while their worlds were falling apart😭 he’s so real for that. the book ends with eve and ragnor at The Hollow with a coffin. eve is super excited for what’s to come and after they open the coffin, ragnor takes out the decaying corpse inside, who he calls Elena. we’re made to believe she’s his love. eve says they need to give “the king” the phoenix so he can give ragnor elena back and then they can raise the underworld🫡 yikes.

kole is actually so cute. he’s described as this large private and stoic viking man but really he’s just a big teddy bear. he’s down BAD for nova and i love it. i love every scene he’s in.

tanner is a golden retriever. he’ll do anything for nova, especially if it’s satisfying her sexual needs😭 literally he’s like an emotional support dog for her. it’s so weird

mack is slowly but surely giving into his desires for nova. he’s very timid and i love it. outside the bedroom, he’s getting more bold with showing affection for nova. she called them all her boyfriends.

luther is lusting so hard. girl. he hated her in the beginning and now only hates her because he can’t have her. he’s convinced she belongs to “his brother” kole. which like, bruh. she’s literally with everyone rn. there’s a scene where the day after nova and luther find sam working at a sex club, luther is worked up and disoriented from the night with nova. kole holds him back outside to talk about what’s going on and luther confesses his feelings for nova. kole gets angry at him for talking about his girlfriend but then proceeds to “fuck nova out of his system” after luther begging him to do so. girl what. that just seemed so out of character for luther.

later that night^ mack tanner and nova are upstairs reuniting while luther and kole talk downstairs about luther accepting he’s part of the five when sam walking in and goes upstairs, looking for nova. so yes, sam ends up fucking nova🥲 he’s a virgin so tanner helped him through it. sam also likes tanner. ofc.

yeah idk what to make of anything; just that i’m here for the smut and kole and mack moments🙂 k bye

No encaja emocionalmente, no encaja narrativamente, no encaja moralmente.

Well well… this has been the best book of the series thus far.

It definitely kept me on my toes and continuously curious to see what would happen next.
The plot is thickening… literally… it’s progressed to a point where I’m really quite intrigued to see where things will go from here.
I have to say, from the start of this book I absolutely though that Nico, the guy who was pretending to be Novas brother, would eventually become part of the harem after some heavy grovelling… but what I REALLY didn’t expect was for Sam, her real brother to show up and do just that.
I mean…. Technically he is just her foster brother so they have no relation whatsoever but it still felt incredibly taboo when he joined their little foursome at the end of this book.
HOT DAMN.
I did not in any sense see that coming and I kinda loved it.
Taboo twists for the win.

Also I’m adoring that Luther has been on the outskirts of the relationship this entire time, it leaves something more to be desired later. He’s just a grumpy hot head who is always serious and business only…. Well that is until he sees Nova in a leather corset and has to play his part with her in a sex club.
Now nothing happens between them but he’s now obsessed with our girl even if he can’t fully admit it.
Him asking Kole to get her out of his system was totally out of left-field in the best way!
He just seems so broody and scary I never expected him to be a bottom but it was actually kinda perfect.
I can’t wait to see his walls turn to ash in the next book and I know when they come together (literally) for the first time, it will be fiery and explosive.
Maybe tanner will tease it out of him like he did with Mack daddy… swoon.

Ragnor is up to something foul and I have a feeling we’re gonna see some demons come into play in the next book.
I feel so sorry for Kayla and I hope she can find her strength to go against this mf.
Nico deserves better too and I hope he gets out of this mess and starts a new life for himself.
So many interesting side characters that I would love to see their story progress in a side series.

Either way, I’m absolutely thrilled with the way this book went and I’m hoping to stay just as hooked going into book 4 of 6!

~4 stars~

May contain spoilers

When a video of Nova exploding her abusive ex-boyfriend goes viral, the balance of the treaty between Humans and Supes meets it's apex. Everyone is now after Nova, and her four boyfriends are intent on keeping her safe from the vulture newscasters and The Bureau. However, with her long lost brother "Sam" not all he appears, and the Human Extinction League still intent on bringing down the Phoenix, the four mages have more cut out for them than they first accounted for.

I think these books are laced with something because, I can't tell ya how quickly I get invested in these characters and this world. It's so action packed with constant high stakes, and a ton of why choose spice that just gets more and more spicy as the series progresses.

I actually really enjoyed seeing Nico's perspective, especially with him being a planted spy for the Human Extinction League. It's quite refreshing and engaging to see things through the enemies eyes, and seeing the extent to what's been so deeply ingrained and reinforced about the prophecy into his very being since birth.

We also get more Luther interactions in this one! It was so nice to dive a little deeper into his character. It was so much fun to see him finally getting closer to Nova, she's slowly getting under his skin, and I'm HERE FOR IT . Watching him begin to let her in, and begin to accept his feelings for her was so beautiful, even if he did struggle to cope with them, it was just a real treat to get more insight into him, and his personality as a whole.

Also, daddy Mack... allowing himself to let go, and enjoy himself and fully embrace his feelings and connection to Nova..

I love that for him!!! This man deserves the whole world.

Honestly y'all this series is a WILD ride, get ready to be absolutely captivated by, and fall in love with these possessive, worshipping mages, with incredible plot twists, and so much intrigue that it keeps you on tenterhooks the entire time. I love a plot that keeps you guessing, and this one does exactly that, you can never quite know where the plot will take you next, and boy is it exciting.

SPOILERS IN MY REVIEW!!!!!

This series!!! I have no words. I’m in love with everyone in this book.
Okay maybe not everyone but Nova, Kole, Tanner, Mack, Snow, Luther & Sam are killing me! I adore them all.

Kole is my usual type. The big ol’ broody male alpha. He doesn’t disappoint! Gods have mercy, he’s one hot Viking grump!

I’m not normally one for the older guys but Mack has my heart in a choke hold. Perhaps is Snow that’s got me all in my feels but there’s something about Mack’s ‘Daddy’ role that’s got me all flustered? Now I don’t do the whole ‘daddy’ thing. I’ve been known to ‘dnf’ a book just for the use of this term. It usually creeps me out and makes me feel a little nauseous but it just really works in this scenario.

Tanner is a dreamboat. All feels and soft edges but that DP scene with him, Kole & Nova had me panting! When he Alpha’d the Alpha? Fuck!

Luther is all snark and smoulder. I need him to make his move like now!!

Sam is a beautiful, damaged warrior who’s story pulls at my heart strings. I can’t wait for more of him!

The dynamic is changing through the series and I’m loving it’s direction. Having been in a poly relationship in my early 20’s, I love reading this trope.

I’m also loving having some baddies to hate. I’ve come across so many books where if my mc’s are incredible, my villains suck or vice versa.
I’ve had a few “OMG I wanna slap the crap outta you” moments with the villains so far and I love that.
The Sam/Ragnor/Elena twist caught me off guard too!
Also, Eve is a crazy B and I really hope she gets what she deserves.
Nico’s a bit of a grey area for me, I’m definitely not a fan but also don’t have a burning desire to see him suffer either.
Kayla can suck a toe!

This is a new author for me and I saw this series advertised and just thought it sounded really interesting. Y’all when I tell you I DEVOURED these books. I read all 6 in two and a half days. What was sleep?? I needed answers!

Nova, our FMC, has lived her life thinking she’s human until one night while defending herself from her abusive boyfriend she suddenly sets some magic free. She has to escape or others she’ll be hunted down. She ends up in Phoenix Falls where she meets our guys. Upon meeting her they’re sure she’s the one that’s destined to fulfill this prophecy they had discovered and save everyone.

I loved this story. Not only was the premise different than anything I’ve read before but it constantly kept me on my toes. Each book ended on a cliffhanger that made me grateful this was a completed series. When I thought I had something figured out another curveball was thrown at the characters.

The relationships between Nova and each of the guys was absolutely beautiful. Tanner, our empath and water mage, is so sweet and I adored the retriever energy from him. Kole, seer and Earth mage, he’s broody and has this trauma he’s working through but his bond with Nova is everything. Mack, shifter and air mage, he’s the big brother/Daddy of the group and man let me tell you…he’s definitely a Daddy. Sam, werewolf, he’s got that same retriever energy as Tanner and is just so sweet and protective. Luther, fire mage, he’s broody and grumpy and we love him all the more for it.

This series was spicy, it was funny, it was heart wrenching, it made me cry, and I loved every minute of it. It’s slept on and I’m going to recommend it to everyone. Go read it.

ARC Review

What I Loved

I really thought Nico would be number 5. I really did. And you know what, I still like him. I feel bad for him and I want him to find his HEA. I’m so glad we continue to get his POV.

“Daddy.” 🫠🔥

The Luther/Nova scene at the club was probably my favorite spicy but not spicy scene. The tension those two are creating is fabulous. Luther and Kole’s relationship was unexpected and I enjoyed Kole’s character development thus far.

I love that this RH has individual relationships within and aren’t just all focused on the FMC. As the series progresses, we see more and more of what each person means to the other.

What I Didn’t Love

It was way too easy to get the real Sam, and then I felt like their relationship progression was SUPER fast. Which, to be fair, is the case for everyone else except Luther (poor dude). I did not think Sam’s first spicy scene rang true. It was more cringe for me and I really think it could have been amazing.

Nova was set up to be this badass heroine who is literally the key to saving the world and she’s slowly devolved into this like sex starved nymph. The spice gets in the plot’s way. I am so invested in the storyline and I’m almost embarrassed to admit that even while I love the spice, it annoys me because it’s taking up time that we could be using to further the plot.

I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!
