I classify myself as sober curious. Being a man in his early 30’s and not drinking has been a weird concept to accept. There’s some social stigma as well as a lost avenue for connection in a world with seemingly dwindling places to connect.

I picked up Prentice’s book during a “quit lit” stint I was going through and it was very helpful. Listening to stories from another younger person talking about giving up alcohol as a choice, not a requirement, was one of the things I needed to feel okay changing my position with drinking. It’s a quick read with lots of insight.

I have successfully changed my view and usage with alcohol which has allowed other areas of my life to thrive and Prentice’s book is one of the tools that helped me do so. Thanks!

Nicole does an amazing job portraying the effects of alcohol through storytelling and opening up the door to an alcohol-free world. This book really makes you think about what alcohol actually adds to your life…..nothing.

If you have even the slightest thought that drinking might be holding you back, this should be your next read. You'll find it hard NOT to relate to Nicole.

Such a fantastic and easily digestible read that can change your life! As someone who supports people in relationships as an Intimacy Expert and also attended some version of the 12 Steps for over 9 years, I really appreciate this work. It is unique because by chapter two you're learning about the breakdown in relationships and emotional and human connections. Finding sobriety is actually only the first step. This book is about learning to feel and experience all of life anew so that we can call in health, wealth, connected relationships and a beautiful life. Thank you Nicole for this great work.

Excellent Quick Read and Resource

I enjoyed the perspective of her reasons to quit drinking which did not involve addiction. The author used many analogies to give examples on the benefits of sobriety. I would recommend this book to anyone considering abstaining from alcohol.
