ML Preston is a USA Today Bestselling Author who writes Contemporary, Multicultural Romance. Encouraged to nurture her active imagination, she quickly found a passion for storytelling. She spins sagas of passion and romance where the lines between race and creed, physical perfection and social norms disappear in the face of love. Novels of real love; erotic connections with a heart and soul that everyone can relate. She makes a home in Texas with her husband, three children, one fur-babies, and two grandchildren to rule them all.
Lucas and Simone can’t hardly stand being in the same room with each other. They seem to go out of their way to annoy each other. Big problem…they work in the same company and are rivals for clients and positions. She sees him as an arrogant, know-it-all and he sees her as a snooty princess. Things really get interesting when they realized they are going to be family. Seems as though her mother and his dad met on a cruise and have decided to get married. How is this going to work? I loved both of the characters and their story.
This was painful to read. There was way too much exposition in the dialogue and the FMC was unrealistically unprofessional in a way that made me uncomfortable (rude to the point of being abusive, entitled, manipulative, undermining her colleague in a way that would blow back on the business) and completely oblivious to the fact that she was the unreasonable one in that situation.
On top of that, the writing feels like someone got carried away with the thesaurus tool, without fully understanding the meaning of the replacement words.
DNFd at the end of Chapter One.

The H/h were definitely office enemies. Whew! Some of the things they said to one another should have landed them both in HR. Sometimes those love and hate relationship(s) masks underlying feelings of attraction. I enjoyed the shift in their relationship. The hero was spot-on about the heroine. Sometimes, the truth hurts but it always will set you free! I'd love a fuller length story featuring this couple with visits from their respective parents to shake things up. Recommended!Read It!
At this point I've read every title Mrs. Preston's put out and she never disappoints. This was a super cute and steamy enemies to lovers romance. The static between them was real and when things started "heating" up, I loved seeing the way their relationship progressed. There's a big twist in this story that had my mouth on the floor and probably will have yours on the floor, too.
The secondary characters made this a worthwhile read
This book was an ok read. This is the first book I've ever read by this author and i found the simone character tiresome. I liked the fact that Simone and Lucas discover they have a tie to one another outside of work. Other than that it is the secondary characters Simone's mother and Lucas ' father that makes this worth reading.
I really love this book and the characters. I was expecting more of ending for the couple. I love that the Mom is living her best life. Love does not she just because you are divorce
This was fun but ultimately did not win me over. We switch emotional tracks pretty quickly with Simone and it was hard to keep up. Some of the conversations towards the end also were a little forced.
