Remington Kane

Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.

Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.

He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.

Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.

The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.

He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.

Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.

By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.

This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.

When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.

Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.

Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.

Past Mistakes Can Kill You!" I'm Certain That's In 'The Book of Tanner' Somewhere...

"Past Mistakes Can Kill You!" I'm Certain That's In 'The Book of Tanner' Somewhere...

I have always enjoyed this series and this, " the 48th addition to the series, is definitely no exception.

By the way, just in case you are wondering, I am an ARC Reader, and I did receive an Advance Release Copy of this book from the author in exchange for an "Honest Review". This is that review.

Before you read farther, please, if you have not read this series in the past I suggest you do so "before" you read this book. In my opinion "Resurrection" is NOT a book that will read well as a "standalone read"...(Look back to the first line of this review for a hint, and that's as close to a "spoiler" as you will get from this review).

Remington Kane is a Master Author when it come to "Pulp Thrillers", as his plot lines always make sense, and even his Advanced Reader Copies are always well edited, and almost always error free, (including typos) which makes for smooth, easy reading over the 238 pages of this book, (took me 3 hours and 45 minutes to read it).

Again, I found it fun and enjoyable, but then I've read every book in the series and was able to engage fully with the current plot line.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Resurrection" to anyone who is already familiar with the series through at least book #44. For as I stated earlier this will NOT read well as a "Standalone Book".

Thank you, and "Happy Reading". I hope this review is of assistance to some of you.

Yeah This Is Awesome!!

This was one crazy good ride into the unkown. Just as in previous additions to this series,it is just really good. The writer doesn't waste time, just throws you right in the thick of things. You are going to come away with so many "oh god"! The writer takes advantage of every scene and you are getting all you can handle.I love that the story moves so effortlessly that you don't realize that you are half way through the story. I love the friendship between Henry and Tanner and their understanding of what they do and who they are. This was scary good, because you know a showdown is coming.

An enemy that Tanner thought he had killed is on a killing spree trying to find Tanner. And Tanner's wife, Sara, is trying to find a serial killer. Tanner needs to put an end to his enemy before this enemy finds Tanner and his family. Enjoy reading about Henry, the next Tanner, also. Another exciting Tanner book that you won't want to put down.

Talk about a cliff hanger!!

I've been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, and like the 47 before it, I finished it in one sitting. But Mr. Kane, what an evil way to end the book! Thank heavens I need only wait 17 days for the next one! Keep writing, Mr. Kane. Stay safe, live well, stay healthy and please, please live to at least 100!

resurrection

I cannot believe you left it hanging like that. I usually hate when writers do this but since I am a fan i will forgive this time. You better make the follow up book sooner than later. I would also like to thank you for you writing and including more of the Tanners. I love Mr. White and his wife please keep them in your stories. Don’t make them old too soon.

a great adventure as always if a little anticlimacticpdrhapsn

Perhaps the strain of developing tanners story is beginning to tell on him. I hope he doesn’t resort to twisting the plots to fit the goal. Tanner has always been a consummate professional who only makes the mistakes that would be normal for a situation.

SERIOUSLY!?!? A freakin cliffhanger?! I mean —WTF did we do to deserve to be tortured like this??

Thankfully, I waited until the next book was out before reading this one, but still had to share my first thoughts...

Unstoppable

Soulless is dangerous and this time, could it be the end? He's been relentless in his searches of the creator of the assassin's list but of Tanner as well. I just don't believe this will be the end!

very good

Exciting storyline with a killer ending. Kept my attention for about 6 hours. Well worth the time. Henry is growing into Eight quite well. Wondering if Cody will retire and Henry step in as Tanner 8?

Cliffhanger…I think not

Am I the only one to feel shortchanged by this book…just as it was finally getting interesting, we need to wait for another Tanner purchase. Disappointing. Done with Tanner now.

Getting to be a bit of a joke now

Farcical characters now. Becoming a bit of a parody. And the book doesn't even end. It just stops..... Poor writing

Good book, and good characters. Starting to feel a little formulaic at this point (Tanner 48).
