Brixley Archer has always had a taste for danger. Allured by the darkness she can't escape that lingers deep in the back of her mind.
She’s spent most of her life hustling, striving for more than the poverty she’s always known.
So when she gets accepted into one of the most selective colleges in the country, she thinks this is her fresh start.
Buried in the dense forests of Washington, she finds that darkness follows. A campus serial killer on the loose, and an elite group that seems responsible for the deaths of the students. She knows she should mind her own business, keep her head down and concentrate on her schoolwork, but when Beckett Cutler—the group leader—sets his sights on her, she can't help but feel this is her way in to prove the group is responsible.
But as revelations are made, her morals are questioned.
Her heart is on the line.
And secrets are revealed that leave her questioning everything she knows.
As her past and present collide, she can't tell what's the truth and what's a lie.
M.T. Morgan lives in Texas with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading a good fantasy/PNR romance as well as a good cup of coffee. She has old lady tendencies even though she's in her mid-twenties. And writing her own bio is very cringe worthy to her.
M.T. Morgan tends to bounce around the romance genre. She may make you laugh, cry and cringe. It just depends on her mood.
'🆆🅴 🅳🅰🅽🅲🅴 🅸🅽 🆂🅸🅽' Is the first full length romance book in new to me author M.T. Morgans 'Sinners Playground' series.
Straight away we're introduced to a much younger version of Brixley Archer as we're thrown into the unknown, a situation which changed her life within a blink of an eye and she's placed in the care of her Aunt. That night is completely wiped clean from her memory, she has no recollection whatsoever of that night. But much later flashbacks start occuring.
At the age of sixteen she started hustling at any gentleman's club which will hire her just to keep her head above water. Everything has a price when you're trying to survive.
Being accepted at Mount Crest University an elite college in Washington, where she's hoping life will finally change for the better. But things quickly take a turn for the worst when bodies start getting deposited around campus. She's also caught the attention of 'The Misfit' boys, (Vance, Beckett, Devlin, Madden) Their energy screams dark temptation, sinister intentions.each boy better looking than the other but it's Beckett that catches her eye, a magnetic pull, a push and pull ensued between them, making these two perfection, but she's out to prove that it's these boys behind the killings on campus.
Throw in a few twists and turns this made for such an easy read to get lost in, Brixley is a strong sassy heroine and gives Beckett a run for his money, these two were perfect for each other. I can't wait to see where this series leads me because now that I've started I'm invested to read the rest.
When I tell you I devoured this book, I am not exaggerating! MT Morgan delivers a phenomenally dark and twisted story that will have you questioning who to trust.
We Dance In Sin is an angsty, dark college romance that makes you feel like you’ve escaped to a new world! I absolutely love the story like and all the twists and turns through out. It was mysterious and so phenomenal. These characters INSTANTLY have you falling in love with them! They are so intriguing that you will soak up every second of their lives. I love Brixley, she is such a fierce and sassy heroine. Be still my beating heart…Beckett Cutler, enough said. For real though, he is broody, he is possessive, he is delicious! This man owns me completely. I also love the other characters in this book. They brought banter and energy. They each have their own lovable traits about them. They really all fit together and I can’t imagine this book without any of them. This book was seriously so good, I am on a book hangover and I’m don’t think it will be gone until I get the next book in this series!
This book took me on a wild journey and I love every second of it! I can’t wait to see more for this series! I really am a fan of these characters! I definitely recommend this book for all to read. Do check trigger warnings and author content, but it is so entertaining!
I am thoroughly 𝓞𝓑𝓢𝓔𝓢𝓢𝓔𝓓 with this book and the other two that will follow. I really struggled to put it down. We Dance In Sin is a dark college romance, enemies to lovers, found family with serial killer vibes.
Brixley has a traumatic past, one that she’s blocked out from her memories. She has been taken care of by her Aunt Lucy for as long as she can remember. Leaving to start Mount Crest University and it’s everything Brixley could hope for. An amazing dorm with her cute new roommate, Primrose. Until they catch the eye of the Misfits, the universities resident cult. Brixley and Beckett are drawn to each other but Instead of sparks flying, venom is drawn. Murders start to happen around campus and Brixley is sure Beckett and the rest of the Misfits are behind them all, she’s going to prove it.
First off, my blood and knife play girlies this one is for you 😉 Beckett has a SERIOUS kink for blood 🥵 He is so fricking dreamy, his disdain and hatred for Brixley sends little sparks through me but he just can’t keep away from her. Our girl is a dancer, a master of the pole, a confident queen and it’s what I love about her. She gives 0 fucks about what people think about her.
As the murders ramp up and sights have been set on Brixley, who’s going to protect her? Why does Vance look so familiar and why do her memories keep threatening to break free?
I’m gonna need the next two books and Primrose & Vance and Amiyah & Maddens story asap please 😩
Brixley has had a rough go of life. Her parents were taken from her when she was younger and she was raised by her aunt. Now on her own Mount Crest University she befriends her roommate Primrose and quickly gathers the attention of The Misfits.
Beckett has his eyes set on Brixley and won’t take no for an answer. He picks her as his initiate and maybe slightly bullies her a little along the way. It’s just his way.
Brixley has a connection she can’t remember from her past to more than one person in her present and I love seeing the pieces connect and unravel. There’s mystery and intrigue along the way that keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next and what more answers are going to drop in your lap.
I can’t wait for more of The Misfits. Vance though big bad mafia heir, has a freakin teddy bear heart for Primrose and I need her to finally give in to him! They are next but I’m craving Madden and Amiyah and their step sibling tension!
First warning should have been the synopsis: ‘Brixley Archer has always had a taste for danger. Allured by the darkness she can't escape that lingers deep in the back of her mind.’
Too many similarities with another I’ve read. It’s a fan fiction style, regardless.
❌ Told not shown. Immature FMC, throw in a few dark shock ideas, I took it as being a parody, giggling. Very young writing style. ❌ Spellcheck would be amazing. Editing, even better 😉 Repetitive. ❌ Continuity lacks, word choice, so many issues. ✔️ My first DNF of the year. 1 ⭐️ for the pretty cover, 1 ⭐️ for content. DNF 22%. Thank goodness it’s in KU.

It was a dark book - even reading the prologue and what Brixley went through was chilling. I loved everything about it. So, beware of triggers.
She’s tough and strong and can definitely hold her ground.
Ahhhhhh, Beckett, I just adore his twisted side.
Also, the smut was amazing. The raw, pure connection Beckett and Brixley have is just amazing.
My emotions were stirred as I read this book and discovering the meaning behind the nickname Rabbit brought tears to my eyes.
In this book, there were many twists and turns, and while I had a feeling who the killer was, I never knew what caused them to kill. It was definitely shocking, but I still enjoyed it.
This girl did it again!!! Woah hands down 5 stars has nothing on what this book really is... m.t has this way of capturing you from the very first letter on the page, And holds you hostage until the last peroid. Beckett and Brixley, are the perfect bratty couple!! They truly are made for each other. But Vance ... he's my favorite. You will not be sorry or disappointed once you pick up we dance in sin. 100/100 % recommend.. literally top 5 read of 2022
M.T. Morgan delivers an addictively thrilling tale that will send shivers down your spine as you inhale this phenomenally dark and twisted romance that will leave you questioning who you can and cannot trust...even amongst your inner circle. You never know who you can trust...
𝗪𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻, book one in the 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, is a dark college romance that takes us deep into the elite world of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀. Instantly readers are thrust into an eerie moment that introduces us to a much younger version of our fearless heroine Brixley Archer, a moment that will shape her into the strong young woman she was destined to be, even if she doesn't remember the events of that horrid night.
Flashbacks throughout the story help both the readers and Brixley put together the pieces of that fateful night, and what ultimately led her to the life she is living now. The new world she is living in full of mysteries and secrets and you never know what (or who) is around every corner. When Brixley catches the eye of Beckett Cutler, the sparks fly instantly, but she's not ready to let him in, even if there is something familiar about him. The banter between Brixley and Beckett was FIRE and brought the perfect amount of balance to this story.
I love all the twists and turns throughout this story and I couldn't get enough of Brixley and Beckett, as well as the supporting characters! I honestly can't wait for all of their stories to come in the 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the first book in the Sinner's Playground Series. This is also a dark story and might contain triggers for some readers. You will want to take the warnings in the beginning of the book seriously. I will go ahead and warn you that once you begin this book, you will not be laying it down. Brixley has a past that is traumatic and one I sure wouldn't think she would wish on anyone. However, she has blocked out some of her memories and has been taken care of by her Aunt Lucy for as long as she can remember. When the opportunity to leave and begin college at Mount Crest University comes she is so excited and it is everything that she wants it to be. She has the sweetest dorm mate and she and Primrose hit it off instantly. However, everything can't remain perfect and things take a turn when they catch the eye of The Misfits, a university resident cult. Beckett is drawn to Bixley the second he lays eyes on her, but not in the sparks flying all over the place kind of way. More in the who draws first blood kind of way. Murders begin to happen and a serial killer is lose on campus and Bixley just knows that Beckett and The Misfits are behind everything. Holy gosh this is quiet the read. Dark and delicious and twist and turns happening all over the place. Two messed up characters that are just perfect for each other if they can get past their disdain for each other. With a killer after her, her memories threatening to come out and play and a man names Vance who is so familiar to her, Bixley has a lot going on and you will be living for every second of it.
What an outstanding book that nothing could've prepared me for!! I'm new to the author, and I'm already obsessed with her books just from the first one It's amazing, and nothing like I expected it to be, I honestly started the book thing it'll be the normal collage romance with bully, some hate/love relationship then they fall in love, with the same old plot. But it's NOT, We Dance In Sin is so much more, it has the perfect plot, with the right amount of spice, kinks, and drama. Beckett is mean, I thought he was an A-hole, he's not, he's just the mean boyfriend that loves way too much to hurt you, but still does, because you enjoy it, I loved him, the character itself was interesting and kept me wondering what will happen next, and I have to say, the cover model is exactly what I expected him to look like, which is a first for me. Brixley, so i have mixed feelings for her lol, but she's a strong one, she's a fighter, she know how to survive, and when she cares about someone, she gives it all to them, her friendship with Primrose was an example of that, and just for this reason alone, I did like her. Let me NOT spoil that twist at the end, but I was shocked, it shocked me for real that I had to do a double take, amazing, it's been awhile since I've a really great plot twist. I'll take a minute here to talk about the kinks, I've been looking for knife play and blood play forever, and haven't found any good ones that cough my attention, but it's here, I absolutely loved these scenes, they're the highlight of my reading experience so far, the details are just stunning..... And their first time together was fire, hot, and so unexpected. All in all, this book a great one, I'm looking forward to read book 2,and more books by Ms Morgan.
Tropes: enemy to lover, secret society, dark romance, mafia romance, second chance
Review: Brixley is a string willed girl who breaks free of her past when she enrolls in a secluded private college. She is tough and gritty and fights tooth and nail for all she wants.
Beckett is a member of the elite and secret society at the college the books take place. He is a darker soul who has loved Brixley all her life.
The central theme of the story is second chance since secrets reveal they have known each other since they were kids. Due to a traumatizing event, Brixley lost her memory and has forgotten Beckett.
This was devastating to everyone around them since there is so much she forgot in her trauma. Overcoming it all, she becomes a force to reckon with and stand foot to foot with Beckett to demand what is hers.
Personally, the tension between the two of them was phenomenal and I routed for them from page 1. The back story we get from each POV was important for the book has made us love each of them more.
The villain in the story was someone I did not expect until the mid to end of ht ebook and I loved how it kept me on my toes. I enjoyed reading about her childhood as her memory came back.
For me the best part was little Brixley claiming Beckett at 6 years old. It was the sweetest thing and then the parallel to the ending.
Rating: 10+/10. Brixley is a gem and I want more of her. Fingers crossed we see a snippet of them in the future.
Oh my freaking OMG!!! I absolutely loved this book. It was a super surprising story that totally had my mouth a gape! It was a seriously dark, intense, sexy gripping serial killer thrill ride that had me on the edge of my seat for practically the whole book. The characters were very interesting – dark and brooding males are always my favourite!! The girls were incredibly strong and independent – need to be to survive the trials they are about to go through. Bet they never imagined just how interesting their college experience was going to be. Brixley is about the start a new life. Away from her Aunt at a remote college hidden away in the dense forests of Northern Washington State known for its prestige and catering to the uber rich – she cannot believe her luck – turns out she shouldn’t count all her chickens just yet. There is a killer on the loose and for some reason he is targeting Brixley. Add to that she is chosen to be initiated into a secret society – the Misfits. Beckett, dark, broody tattoos (YUM!) has set his eye on Brixley – and what Beckett wants Beckett gets. Mysterious with eyes you could get lost in and an amazing artist to boot the only thing stopping Brixley would be his entitled self-serving attitude (sigh!!) There is conspiracy afoot. This book was soooooooo intriguing I just couldn’t put it down and I am so hoping that Vance will be getting a book next (please oh please!!!!)📖🖤💋
"Some may find it dishonorable, how I sell my body, how I take my clothes off for a crowd. So maybe if I had a respectable profession, like say, a defense attorney who keeps molesters, rapists, and murderers on the streets because they have a degree, I'd be considered honorable. Morals are funny like that."
This was my first time reading M.T. Morgan. I feel like this book in general had really good potential. I really enjoyed the story, but I felt the writing was a bit immature. It felt that it did not flow very well, but I was determined to push through since it was the first in the series and wanted to see if the writing would improve in the next two.
I Really enjoyed the story line and I felt there was a lot of emotion in the writing which I loved. I really enjoyed reading about Brixley's life and all the twists. I felt that M.T. Morgan did a great job touching on the trauma aspect and how one who experienced that situation may feel or react. I recommend reading the trigger warnings as there were some topics that I could see as triggering for some. The twist at the end was so good too!
I will be reading the next two in the series! I am happy to have identified another author I enjoyed reading to add to my TBR lists.
When Brixley’s life changes in the blink of an eye and now in the care of her aunt, she faces the unknown, her memory of a life lived, flashbacks that hold a semblance of hope or something far more profound.
Working to earn a living is not what she saw herself doing at the age of sixteen, but if this helps to keep her head above water, knowing that everything in life has a price when trying to survive, she will do whatever she needs
Being accepted into an elite college, Brixley has high hopes that everything will turn out in her favour, however as bodies start showing up on campus, she’s caught the attention of The Misfits, but one boy in particular, Beckett, catches her eye, yet Brixley is out to prove which of The Misfits is responsible for the killings on campus, but what Brixley didn’t expect was the magnetic pull she has towards him, the push and pull between them was undeniable, both utter perfection.
Yet the most unexpected was the twists and turns, it will make you fall into their story, because Brixley showed Beckett that she is strong and sassy and gave him a run for his money, these two were the most perfect match.
Where do I even find the right words to express how absolutely amazing We Dance In Sin was and is !!!! I honestly do not think words can possibly do it justice. It’s really something you just need to experience for yourself. Dark , raw , gritty , suspenseful, steamy , angsty , mysterious, twisted, non stop action, wonderfully written characters that are so unique , so captivating and extremely multi layered , secret societies, dark college , tragic, second chances , family , friendships , unpredictable , unforgettable and unputdownable. Beckett and Brixley’s emotional journey is guaranteed to grab onto all your emotions, and pull at your heartstrings in ways you definitely will not be expecting. I was seriously on the edge of my seat the entire time dying to know what was going to happen next . Becket is the ultimate bad guy a alpha in every way - there are moments you can’t decide if you love or hate him and Brixley is so strong and independent and puts up with no crap from anyone - a true badass . What a phenomenal beginning to whet I can already tell is going to be a terrific new series a few seconds
We all have those books that we read that we don’t want to end. We Dance in Sin is that book. I devoured it and was sad when it ended.
It literally has everything. The whole story plot was something different that I haven’t experience yet. Mystery….steam…. Characters you will just fall in love with. The best book to read with Halloween coming up.
Brixley is refreshing. She owns who she is and doesn’t apologize for it. And damn I don’t claim many book boyfriends but I am now! Beckett Cutler is fire and steam. I absolutely just love him. The Misfits is the group you want to be apart of. They have it all. Money and power. But they know something about our girl that she hasn’t figured out yet. The whole mystery surrounding her is what drew me in. I needed to know how this was going to play out.
I’ve only read a few of M.T. Morgan’s books. I’m working my way through of of them…but she has became one of my favorites very quickly. Her writing is addictive.
Oh. My. God. Loved “We Dance In Sin” so much I didn’t want it to end. I loved the mystery in it, the spooky setting of the book, the suspense of thinking you know but questioning it too!! It was all really good. I couldn’t stop reading once I started it. I had some ideas early on about certain truths, and I was right, but others had me questioning right to the end. Brixley was an incredibly strong heroine. She’s been through a lot and has had to deal with a very traumatic experience. Her memories are a mess and she doesn’t remember so much about her early life. When she starts college and meets The Misfits she’s definitely questioning them, and with the murders on campus, she doesn’t trust them right away. But a certain Misfit, Beckett, manages to break through her trust and she starts to trust them. Plus Vance is always there when she needs him. What she doesn’t know is just how deep of a connection to them she has. They all fit together like a perfect puzzle! It’s definitely a dark college romance and DEFINITELY worth reading!! I can’t wait for Vance’s story.
Brixley has a very traumatic childhood and ends up living with her Aunt. It’s time for her to go off to college. Her first day at college she has a run in with the group of boys “the misfits” as people call them.
Beckett immediately seems drawn to Brixley and they have this push/pull thing going on. Brixley seems to not want anything to do with Beckett. Though when she is around him her body betrays her with wanting him.
Brixley and her roommate Primrose are chosen to be new recruits for the misfits. But there are several tests they must endure first.
I honestly loved the hate/love relationship between Beckett and Brixley thought I think Brixley almost liked all the attention Beckett was giving her and how he would pull this dark side out of her.
I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one day.. get ready for a shocking twist in the story as well.
This is the first in a new series, and what an amazing beginning this story is! Brixley is fierce and sassy, and she just wants to stive above the poverty she was brought up in, and when she is accepted into one of the most selective colleges in the country, she knows this will be a fresh start for her. There is a campus serial killer on the loose, and an elite group who may be responsible for the deaths of students. Beckett is broody and possessive, and is the leader of the group, and he has set his sights on Brixley. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, intense, and intriguing, with emotions, truths, lies, twists, danger, suspense, revelations, mystery, witty banter, and is a steamy and entertaining page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is the first book I have read by M.T. Morgan.
A college romance, with dark elements, including - a serial killer (loss of family), memory loss, and extremely hot knife play.
Brixley Archer (such a spectacular name!) makes ends meet by dancing/stripping. I loved how off the bat, she appeared to be a self sufficient character that strived to work hard.
When she is accepted into a prestigious college in Washington, her life continues to change in ways she didn't expect.
The Misfits (crew of 4 guys) come into her life and Beckett Cutler is clearly there to piss her off at every turn.
I loved Beckett and some of his lines on the book made me swoon. As tough as he could be, he was a genuine person.
"But it’s too late for my rabbit. Because she let me have a taste. And it wasn’t enough." -Beckett
I loved the serial killer bit woven into this story and the hot knife play (yes friends, blood)
A really great read and loved the main characters.
I can never start one of these MT’s books without finishing it all in one sitting and I knew starting this right before bed wasn’t going to end well for me!
Beckett is dark and delicious and the Misfits are dark and mysterious but they completely pull you in.
Brixley is definitely up for the challenge that has become her life and things truly aren’t what they seem, she definitely sticks up for herself.
The mystery and the angst to this story was everything. I love me a good slightly stalkerish read 😂
I do have to admit Beckett is now on my book boyfriend list because who doesn’t want a little blood and knife play in bed well maybe some of us do 😉
Do not wait if you want a murder mystery with a little bit of a twist oh and some panty melting goodness then READ THIS BOOK
4.5 stars. I read this in one sitting, this is one of my favorite books of the year. I do wish it was longer that’s the only reason it’s not a 5 star read. I loved the memory loss/amnesia plot. I wish it was drawn out with her slowly regaining memories but I still loved this nonetheless.
Also that epilogue had me crying, it was so sweet. “Dance for me, Rabbit” 🐇
Ughhh Beckett the man you are.
I also ATE UP Vance & Brixleys relationship. The way he was an unhinged psycho but would do anything for her was so sweet.
Only thing I was confused on was why Beckett was being mean and bullying her in the beginning? And asking her to apologize? What the hell did she do. Was it because she didn’t remember him?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Okay, so this one was hot and cold for me. Mainly because of how hot and cold Beckett was at Brixley. Like pick a temperature dude! It felt like the author wanted to give you an enemy to lovers book, but couldn't commit to it. I loved how he loved her though! And I loved their characters. Each one was interesting in their own way. The story had potential, but I felt like some of the scenes were too rushed. It was a superfast read, but it could've definitely been longer with more details. Some of the scenes I felt weren't super needed. Just like a filler scene. And some scenes had me asking questions that weren't answered. Maybe they'll be answered in the next books. Overall, looking at the potential and the characters and mystery, I'd say it's 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Okay first off, I actually loved the premises of this book. The murder mystery aspect was so good. I love Brixley and Beckett and the surrounding mystery of Brixleys past. I loved the flashbacks, I loved the ending.
The steam was good, and I adored how naive Prim was and both their relationships with Amiyah.
It was extremely fast paced, maybe a little too fast paced for me, which left the story feeling a little choppy in places, and there were a few grammatical/spelling errors that took me out of the book.
Having said that, I will definitely be reading book 2, and I can't wait to see where it goes.
Brixley gets accepted into one of the most exclusive and selective colleges in the country. She feels like this is her fresh start. Then she meets Beckett and learns about the secret society he’s a part of. She’s intrigued but also cautious- is this society responsible for the spate of murders plaguing the college? If not who is and why do they seem to be targeting Brixley? Could her missing memories be the key?
Ohhhhh I loved this!! It was dark, full of secrets, hate and holy fuck moment. Beckett is just the type of guy I crave! Hard, dark, dangerous but soft as a marshmallow for the girl he loves. Can’t ask for more! Starting book 2 immediately because I need more!!
I will start off with… this book needs a good edit however, it doesn’t not effect the readability of this story.
Brix has a past that she can’t fully remember but she is looking forward to her future. A future that she will come to find out has more to do with her past than she ever bargained for! Beckett is an arrogant man with a very confusing story. He is hot and cold but once you find out why, it ties it all together.
The story is angsty and drama filled. There are parts that may have been cut out and the story wouldn’t have missed it.
All in all, good first time read for this author and I look forward to hearing the other characters stories.
Review: We Dance in Sin. By: M.T. Morgan. Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. ARC Copy.
When I first saw this book I just had to sign up to read it. To a bookstagramer who loves dark romance? It was too tempting to pass up. And I’m glad that i got it because We Dance in Sin was so good!
I loved everything about it, the plot, characters, the emotions that drove these characters, and the twist and turns of the mystery going on. Before reading this book do make sure that you check for trigger warnings.
Dark college bully romance with a secret society and a hero with an obsession. That obsession is for one girl - Brixley Archer. There's more to the obsession story than she knows: there is backstory and eventually she will remember, but those involved won't tell her the whole story, she has to remember. The story spools out over time and it's a doozy! Meanwhile, Brixley & her friends are being hunted, other recruits to the society are being murdered and nowhere seems to be safe. Can Beckett save Brixley before it's too late?
