⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 Stars

Let me just say I really Love Tay’s storytelling ability….With that, she has an extensive established backlist of titles and her books are STILL inundated with grammatical errors….far too many for an established author. Please pay an Editor…..This couple went through it….Both of them really had some growing to do . I love the fact that Kazier Family was so supportive throughout the development of their relationship. Unfortunately, Ny’asia didn’t have her immediate family support, but Kay’s family stepped in and up. This couple finally got it together

Stopped reading after H made this statement; “What, you thought a nigga’s hair was nappy? I got that good shit.”
There is nothing wrong with nappy hair, and no one, especially a Black person should talk about Black hair in this manner. It sucks because the author is a Black woman and I would hope that she, beyond everybody else, would understand the texturism in the Black hair community. Very disappointing.

This was sooo motherfudgesicklestix good🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Bay-be Queen Tay Mo'Nae did her motherfudgesicklestix thang honey! One drunken night in Vegas turned into something these two didn't see coming.
Kazier & Ny'asia both equally worked my damn nerves, lol. Her cause although she was open and honest with him, she didn't truly open up about her past with her bih a**ex Damien🙄. Him because he was a true man/child at times, and it showed with how he handled her when it came to Damien scheming blackmailing bih a** 🙄😒😡. I wanted to fight him after the ish he said to her🤣. I freakin loved their chemistry, I felt that ish through the pages. Although their situation started off as a way to clean up his image, you really couldn't tell by how much they loved each other, even if they tried to downplay they're feelings to others.
His family was dope asf, especially Isis, I adored her❤️.
I really wanted her to beat tf out of Kiki after she dropped that baby🤷🏾‍♀️🤣🤣🤣. I was so proud of how protective he was of her even when they weren't on the best of terms. He handled that Carmen and Kiaa situating like husband should.
IT'S A MUST READ FOR ME 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Tay Mo’Nae did that!!! What a ride!! The character development, the story line, the drama, the spice, the accountability, the loyalty it was all written so well! This was an amazing read!! I love when the heroine in the story is written with a backbone and not some weak minded woman. Ny’Asia was confident and she didn’t take any BS. Even when she had various issues with other in the story, she stood her ground…. Anybody could get it! I can’t say enough great things about this story! This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read from me!

Ny’Asia was a confident woman and told it like it was. Kazier was a playboy because of what he went through in the past. Loved how supportive his family was to Ny’Asia since she didn’t have the support of her own family. I really enjoyed the side characters too. Great book.

Whew...what an emotional read!

This story had my anxiety levels to the max because I loved the pairing of Ny'asia and Kazier. I did not want anything to ruin it and so I paused my reading until I could push through the drama. I was not happy with Kazier in how he handled Ny'asia in their toughest season and ole girl was no pushover making Kazier work for it. This is my favorite book by this author. Great character development and engaging storyline. Great read!

I felt like I needed to smoke a black n mild after finishing this story😂😂 (sn: or those candy sticks ifykyk)

This book stressed me out so freaking bad just because of the characters and the childishness. Let’s rewind and talk about the tropes of this story.

Accidental Marriage / Marriage of convenience: Fake Dating / Accidental Pregnancy.

Now I love me a good fake dating plot but this missed the mark for me because of how disrespectful Kaiser was and how irritating Ny’Asia was. The first 120ish pages was nothing more than them acting like complete children. Kaiser was a complete a*hole and to be honest it was a bit expected due to things that were later revealed on why he was hesitant on if Ny’Asia was telling the truth. He started to come around towards the middle but he was still acting like a whore like he wasn’t playing house to save his image. I’m sad to say i never got a ushy gushy feeling when reading about him. Nothing about his character swoon me to like him but im glad he was able to grow up— just a tad.

Now Ny’Asia was so inconsiderate and irritating. She literally stole 5 bands from this man but got upset when fans were calling her a gold digger LMAO like I’m sorry but you admitting to robbing ninjas. She also barely opened up to Kaiser about her past and he asked multiple times if there was anything he should know. Of course she kept her secrets to herself until her ex Damien got out of jail and threatened to expose her unless she gave him half a mil. Ho is you crazy!?

Let’s just keep in mind that if she told Kaiser about Damien and what had happened. Then a lot could have been avoided. So imma wrap this up and say this was a mid read to me but I did like the concept of the story just not how it was executed. Miss author does a great job writing drama and keeping the readers stressed. Also the chemistry between the characters was definitely there but I wish their characters were a bit more developed for me. So I rate this ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 / 5

This book was OK. The FMC really annoyed me, and I thought the crazy ex didn’t really come together with the plot of this book. I also would’ve liked a better ending, but that’s just my opinion.

🤯

This was something different from this author but I was pleasantly surprised with this storyline. I haven’t been so frustrated with characters in a while so I will say the author did her job. I have mixed feelings on both, Kazier & Ny’Asia but I loved their story. The characters developed well throughout the story. I loved Ny’Asia’s hustle and Kazier’s redemption and receptiveness to their marriage. Overall, I think this book is a good discussion book and will bring different emotions from readers.

Amazing read

Whew this was a rollercoaster ride that I could not get off of. I was afraid Tay Mo’nae was going to leave us with a cliffhanger and we would have to wait for book two with the amount of drama in this read, I am so glad she didn’t and the couple got it together within the 467 pages. Ny’asia and Kazier were so guarded from their past relationships that it took a while for them to let it down especially Kazier. That dang on Kazier was a complete a**hole that was still doing his own thing in the beginning and was pissing me off. Slowly Kazier started to open up to the idea of having a wife and a kid. Tay Mo’nae did her thing on Kazier’s character development because in the beginning I was not here for his antics but by the end I forgave him for all the grimy stuff he was doing and ended up liking him. When Kazier finally fell in love he loved hard and I enjoyed reading about his transformation.

Ny’asia did not play, she took no shit from anyone, not Kazier, his momma, her parents, or the women she had to deal with because of Kazier. Sis was not afraid to speak her mind and I loved it. I also loved Ny’asia’s hustle as well, she wanted to stand on her own and not live off Kazier but sis wasn't a dummy she was gonna use her new found fame to her advantage. I adored the relationships Kazier had with his family, they did not hesitated to let Kazier know when he messed up. The way his family embraced Ny’asia and took up for her when Kazier was wrong was admirable. Whew and the sexual chemistry between Kazier and Ny’asia was fire, bro got down and nasty with his woman honey.

I hope we get a spin off for Iris and her nosey self, could her and YJ have a little chemistry? Or maybe I made that up in my head. Anyway Tay Mo’nae wrote the hell out of this book, I haven’t read her full catalog yet but I have never been disappointed with any of the books I I have read so far.

This was my first Tay Mo’Nae book, and I’m tempted to say it may be my last. Drunk in Love was an accidental marriage/marriage of convenience/surprise pregnancy romance. Lazier is a famous rapper who is out at a club one night in Vegas. He takes Ny’Asia home for a one night stand, but they wake up and it’s all over the news that they got married. Ny’Asia leaves after a rude awakening by Kazier. When she realizes she’s pregnant, she lets him know and he’s not happy. However, his PR people make them stay married to clean up Kazier’s act, and pay Ny’Asia to go along with it. These two live together and when I tell you it was rough beginnings for them, I mean ROUGH.

This book had its good moments, but the amount of “gray area cheating” in this book by Kazier was ridiculous. Even when you thought he was doing better, he’d fall off the wagon. I swear he didn’t stop cheating until over halfway through the book. Meanwhile, Ny’Asia really should’ve just told Kazier about the threats from her ex, because placing you and your baby in harm’s day was dumb.

Finally - I’ve seen that the author has an extensive backlist, but if her other books are overwhelmingly riddled with grammar/wrong word editing mistakes, it’ll be hard for me to read. I can overlook a handful of mistakes, but when it’s a lot of them per chapter, it strongly suggests the author didn’t use an editor. These mistakes definitely took me out of the story.

The drama was entertaining but overall, the hero needed to do more groveling, and the cheating could’ve been toned down.

TROPES: black romance/BIPOC/OWN voices; rapper hero; accidental marriage/marriage of convenience; surprise pregnancy; forced proximity/roommates; dislike/enemies to lovers; found family; (not so) reformed playboy

TRIGGER WARNINGS: gray area cheating; mentions of abortion/complications from previous abortion; drug abuse; gang rape; mentions of murder

Well, I tried. 3 stars is being extremely gracious and if I think too hard about it I will be 2 stars as it deserves.I definitely went into this judging it harshly with my fiercest side eye ( see my previous review of It Always Been You by this author if you want to know why)

Kazier & Ny,Asia (both are made up horrible names)
Wake up in Vegas married. My favorite kind of story.
This had promise of a good story but fell short in more that one way.
They party in Vegas and wake up married and don’t remember it. He’s mad as hell and very disrespectful to her once the sun comes up. So she leaves but not with out 2 parting gifts. They don’t even know how to contact each other to get a divorce/annulment.
A little more than a month later the second parting gift makes it’s presence known and Nyasia has no choice but to find her “husband” because she is pregnant.
Kazier is a famous rapper and F-boy with the video tapes to prove it. He wants no parts of her or her baby cause it couldn’t possibly be his. However, his team thinks that they should stay married to help clean up his image because he has a new album releasing soon. They agree but it’s for the public eyes only he keeps on moving as normal like his wife doesn’t exist. He’s arrogant, childish, stubborn and very disrespectful. Meanwhile she’s trying to make the best of the situation because they both need each other so this is a marriage of convenience that will be beneficial for both of them. They both have things from their past that are keeping them from being real with each other.

Somehow, it’s not clear when in the story, Kazier starts to believe that the baby is his. They sort of form a truce If you will and live as a somewhat normal married couple, she catches feelings but he’s a asshole so he won’t be honest like she was. They make appearances together, do interviews, and post on social media in hopes to clean up his image and change the narrative in the blogs and it’s working until her ex boyfriend gets out of prison and blows it all up. When it comes to a head he throws his wife out without even talking to her about it, I know, like I said he’s childish and stubborn.
He’s the worst MMC I’ve read in a long time.

These two are both stubborn but passionate so they dig in their heels on opposite sides of the sand. Kazier’s father gets him to see reason but Nyasia’s heels are firmly planted, you won’t get a second opportunity to hurt her. Will they get beyond this? Can they be honest with each other? You’ll have to read the book to find out.

This is my second read from this author and I’m and not a fan of the writing. There are two phrases that are repeatedly used through the story. There are misspelled words. Sentences with wrong word usage. a few sentences where you aren’t quite sure what it is supposed to be you just know that it is wrong.
There is no depth or creativity in the writing style. At first I thought we’ll it’s urban romance so it’s not unusual to use colloquialisms or culture specific slang but the writing is just lacking creativity and frankly it was like I’m reading something written my a middle schooler. This story needed proofreading and editing.

This is a good story .The plot is there. Two of my favorite tropes are there. And there is movement. I’m am not a fan of this authors writing but you may like the story so give if a try.

“It’s not a big deal. It’s not like this marriage is real anyways.”

Hmmmm…***Spoiler Alert***

I’m not sold on Ny’Asia. I know people are not perfect but I really didn’t see much growth in her character despite the length of the book. She had some serious character flaws that she justified. Like when she stole Kazier’s money out of his wallet, she justified that. Then when she refused to contact or forgive her parents because she didn’t want to admit she was wrong, she justified that. Then when she lied through omission to Kaiser about her past, she justified that. She never seemed to take accountability for her actions. So needless to say I wasn’t impressed with Ms. Ny’Asia and to be honest Kaizer was a piece of work as well. He was disrespectful and would have continued to sleep with other women had Ny’Asia not spoken up. He blatantly eyed everyone women’s body sexually that he came in contact with and went as far as to have sexual contact with one of the ladies while him and Ny’Asia was at the same event. How disrespectful can you get? Again serious character flaws. I understand that no one is perfect but c’mon give me some decent characters to root for.

This had the makings of a good romance, I like the accidentally married troupe. I could not get past the awful MMC, just trash. And the grammatical errors in this book?? First book from this author and pretty quickly realized she doesn’t use an editor. It tried to hard to be an enemies to lovers and made him a straight up enemy. And Nyasia isn’t innocent either, stealing from him and then wondering why he doesn’t trust you? Girl. They were both childish. 2 stars for an interesting premise and the potential for a good book if it were to ever find an editor.

So freaking amazing!

Oh my freaking goodness… I was not ready for everything Kazier Waters but honey redemption is a beautiful thing for both him and Ny’asia. I love a good fake relationship trope and this marriage did not disappoint when they loved it was all swoons and butterflies and they burned up the pages since page one. Tay never disappoints and delivers only the best of five star reads this was no different and I can’t wait for what’s next

The character development throughout this story was A1. I could really feel the growth and love. I loved it from start to finish, it ended perfectly, nothing was left unsaid. I was really happy that Ny’Asia found her lane. There’s nothing like falling in love with something and making a profit!!! 💕

What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Kazier, or K-Don, is in Vegas partying and celebrating his newly released rap single. Like most rappers, women are always at his disposal. When his eyes land on Ny'asia, his inner hoe alerts him that he has to have her. After a night of drunken, unadulterated sex, these two strangers are ready to get as far away from each other as possible. There's just one catch, they're now husband and wife. "'What they fuck you talking?' K-Don's voice suddenly grew louder. 'I'm not fucking married!'" What was supposed to be a one-night stand quickly grew into a life-long headache.

Kazier is your typical rap playboy. He's young, cocky and paid. Since getting into the rap game, there are very few people he can trust. His circle is small, mainly consisting of his mom, dad, cousin and two best friends. Everyone else has to earn his trust and it isn't given very easily. So, when he learns that he's married a stranger, he's sold on the fact that Ny'asia has drugged him. There's no way he would do something so dumb. Not only does he not know her, but he also has no desire to ever be married. When Ny'asia disappears after learning of their union and with five thousand of his dollars, he's sure she was only looking for some sort of come up. But when she returns weeks later announcing she's pregnant, he's sold on his come-up theory. "I didn't know what Ny’asia’s end game was, but she was about to learn quick that if she was looking for a come up, I was the wrong nigga to go after." When Kazier's record label suggests he stays married to help change his image, he's upset to say the very least. With the pressure to make sure the marriage looks real and actually getting to know Ny'asia, Kazier realizes that things aren't as bad as they seem. "Truthfully she's grown on me. The past couple of months getting to know her and being around makes me look at her differently. When I first was forced to stay with her, I wasn't happy about it, but now I don't know I don't look at it like a burden I guess." If only he can keep his ego in check and leave his groupies alone, he may turn out to be an okay husband.

Ny'asia's old life has her in a bit of a pickle. Her ex-boyfriend or old friends weren't good for her. After leaving her old life behind, she decides to spend a weekend in Vegas, courtesy of the money she stole from her ex. When she wakes up from her drunken stupor and realizes K-Don isn't as charismatic sober as he is drunk, she takes five bands from his wallet and dips. She's determined to turn her life around. She's got an apartment and is even looking for a job. The stress of trying to get her life in order is stressing her out and making her sick, or so she thinks. After one too many prayers to the toilet gods, Ny'asia realizes she's pregnant and there's only one way she can think to resolve this issue, go find her husband so he can take care of his responsibilities. "She's pregnant, but I don't know that, that baby is mine. She let me hit on the first night without knowing me. Not only that but she disappeared for a month then popped up talking about she's pregnant. That shits fishy as fuck!" Ny'asia's past has just about everyone questioning her motives, but she's willing to prove that she's as solid as they come, and her past has no determination on her future. "I didn't want to be back in a situation where I was depending on a man. I didn't want my life shaken up after I fought so hard to get it back on track." Ny'asia's newfound spotlight has a few skeletons falling out of her closet, making her already distrusting husband sorry that he even almost gave her the benefit of the doubt.

I want to start off by saying these two characters worked on my nerves! I didn't know if I wanted to love or hate Kazier. One minute he was an egotistical asshole and the next he was doing something so sweet I was considering adding him to my book bae list, only for him to do something that pissed me off in the next chapter. Ny'asia was so stubbornly independent she would bite off her own nose to spite her face, which annoyed me so much. But in some scenes, it made me proud. She wasn't a weak bitch and I loved that for her. The sub-characters in this story were amazing. Kazier was a major asshole, but his family was top tier. Even when he wasn't what his wife needed him to be, his family was, and they forced him to step his game up. One thing I love about Tay Mo'nae is her character development. It's top tier! She will take a character and literally grow them up on these pages. Both main characters had a bunch of highs and lows, but in the end, they stayed on a high note and had me swooning by the end of the story. This story is a celebrity romance/marriage of convenience and is a full length stand-alone. So, if you're into either, I highly recommend this book. But even if you aren’t into either, I still highly recommend his book.

A Rollercoaster Ride

You all, this story was a rollercoaster ride from the start. Every turn brought so much action, drama, and thirsty chicks. Also, this story gave us a chance to meet a lady with no fuss for over-aggressive behavior. I liked Ny'Asia; her whole persona was badass, take no mess from anyone. K-Don was RUDE with all caps. Being a top artist did not give him the right to be so crude with women. You will see my point.

Ny'Asia wanted to go about her life until K-Don messed around and sullied her plans.

As the tale unfolds, K-Don molds into Kaizer and a much better man. The backstory with his parents and her parents filled in the voids to intensify the story. Kizer's cousin Iris was my absolute favorite. Jonay, his agent, was a close second.

You all, I cried, laughed, cried more, and enjoyed this emotional ride. 4.5 stars.

Drunken Night in Vegas

I’m not one to think something is perfect but this book was perfect. From the characters development, storyline, plot and even the characters POV I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved both Ny’Asia and Kazier sides of the story and I agreed with both. I didn’t have a favorite character because everybody played their role so well in this story. It had so many great parts in this book that had me cheesing and cheering for both parties. Of course your past try to come back and throw mishaps in your life but Ny’Asia wasn’t weak at all. I can say so much more but please read this book to get a full experience of joy. Although it’s long it didn’t have fluff to reach a word count. Kudos to the author

I had to come Back and write my review for this one. I don’t know why it took me so long to read this, but it did not disappoint. One thing I love about an arranged marriage is the build up to love. It seemed so natural and not fairytale like. I enjoyed watching them develop and grow together and apart. I would love an update on them one day.

3.5/5⭐️5/5🌶 Bro I hate a liar lol and lying by omission is still lying. Like how are you gonna lie about big stuff that could ruin your marriage when you had 30,000 opportunities to say something. Ny'asia had me tight for that but Ima blame it in the hormones. Now Kazier that man would have to fight me after what he said lol. Now Ny shouldn't have kept it from him put hes been an asshole from the beginning. So he cursed her out, then proceeded to tell her hes gonna take they child, then to put the cherry on top he kicked her out knowing she has no family and she had a high risk pregnancy... Im sorry but I needed 200 more pages of an apology for that like way more groveling. However it just shows how realistic this book was bc niggas really be hurt getting into relationships. Lol bc of Kazier you gotta come healed bro. Im not tryna hear it😂👎🏾. Kazier was disrespectful for 98% of the book bro omg. Honestly I should have just dnf the book but i seen so many good reviews so i was like fuck it. I can say im happy nobody died after her c section so... God Bless. I would recommend if you want a 400+ realistic marriage of convenience book.

Good old Vegas doesn’t always keep your “activities” in Vegas. The author gave us 2 engaging characters to take us on this journey. There were complex relationships with the supporting cast I.e. Ny and her parents. But, I did think the author did a great job of displaying her strength and feminity at the same time. Kazier was a bit off putting at first(that has more to do with me than the character) He was rich, egotistical and I think a bit coddled(hmm I don’t know if that’s the right word. I might change later). But he’s an entertainer and has to be protected. The story moved well. I was engaged from page one.

I will say that I found this through a blogger friend, Shades n Pages. And all I’ll say is that her reel about it was spot on lol

Save for distracting SPAG issues, this book was a treat.

Being a famous rapper and waking up married to a complete stranger is wild! 😩 Kazier stressed me out the entire book! This man was so cocky — rich, foolish, and trusted no one!

Ny’asia… whew, I knew she was hiding something, but I did NOT see that coming. Her parents? PMO. Her dad had some nerve, and her mom, I could NEVER! And Damien? Straight up predator, no excuses. 🤬

Iris was my favorite character — I love a girls’ girl 💕 she brought so much balance to the story.

This book had everything: an accidental marriage, surprise pregnancy, found family, secrets, and betrayal. It was messy in the best way! Just have some patience with Kazier… he does redeem himself kinda and I mean, the custom pink G-Wagon didn’t hurt 😏.

Would have rated it 5 stars if there was more closure around Ny’asia past, like was the tape destroyed? No other copies? What about Kiki and the other guys? Any charges pressed?

Would have loved a time jump epilogue?
I wanted more happiness for this couple shoot they earned it!
