Fisher Brothers #3

Adios Pantalones

Rate this book
Can a popular bartender win over a strong single mom? From New York Times bestselling author J. Sterling comes a thrilling new standalone romance you won't want to miss.

Everyone knows who the Fisher brothers are; the hottest single bartenders this side of the Santa Monica Pier. Which is exactly why when I run into Ryan Fisher one day at the beach, I intend to steer clear of him and his sexy, playboy ways.

I've heard the rumors. I know his type. I've seen him in action. And I'm not interested.

But Ryan has other ideas. He's convinced that I have him all wrong. But I don't have the luxury of making mistakes when it comes to men. Not anymore. Being a single mom does that to a woman.

There's only room in my life for one boy: and his name isn't Ryan. So why won't he go away and leave me alone already?

The Fisher Brothers is a series of standalone novels that can be sipped one at a time, or binged in order. Each book is aptly named after one of the popular drinks at their bar. Enjoy!

Disappointed :(

I see I'm in the minority, but here's my opinion: I waited expectantly for months, ready for the last Fisher brother to fall in love. I had high hopes for his story, so that's why I'm so disappointed now. His story not only fell flat for me, but it kind of ruined the character IMO. The plot was flat, the conflict was ridiculous and not well thought, the villain felt cartoonish, the h was pretty unremarkable, and Ryan (the H) didn't feel like the same character from the previous books. He lost all his spark and charm, making him pretty lame in this book. And there were none of the bar antics that made the previous books so much fun.
The sequence of events and the actions of the characters during the climax of the story were so asinine and stupid, that I had to roll my eyes more times that I can count. The villain is chasing the h in a car, bumping into her car, but she doesn't call the police. Instead she goes to her boyfriend's bar to tell him that the bad guy is after her and had threatened his life (the H's life that is). But then she decides to go pick up her son from school right then, knowing the madman is still outside and after her. She gets into her car and sure enough the guy is right behind her again. The H sees her leave, knows the guy is following her and he stays there pacing around wondering if he should follow. Really??!! I won't tell you how that ended, but the whole thing was pretty silly.
One last thing: one of my pet peeves is when authors portray kid's characters unrealistically age wise. Here we have Matson, the h's son and he's 8 years old but his dialogue, actions and the way he is treated are more fitting for a five or six year old. As a mother of boys I can tell you that no 8 year old boy would be picked up and propped on your hip like a toddler, or would be "bouncing" around people's laps when sitting down.
Sorry, but I didn't like the book.

I really enjoyed this book! Now let me start off by saying that I haven’t read the first two books in the series; luckily this story can be read as a stand-alone (but I REALLY want to read the first two now).

Ryan is pretty awesome and not like a lot of the lead males in romance books these days. I feel like a lot of authors portray male characters as these sexy alpha assholes, but Ryan is sexy and sweet without even trying. I can see why Sofia was apprehensive about starting anything with him because of his job and the image he has to portray for customers, but he’s just your average guy looking for love. Thank god for Grant urging Sofia to give Ryan a chance because they really are perfect for one another. And did I mention how much I loved Grant?! I think he was my favorite character. The banter between him and Ryan was hilarious and flowed so well.

Some parts of the book did move a little slower than I would’ve liked, especially since it took so long for Ryan and Sofia to finally get together. And once that happened the story progressed rather quickly. But other than the pacing, I thought it was great and highly recommend it.

Independent, standoff-ish and skeptical single mom meets bartending, hopeless romantic, smitten and determined heartthrob…YES PLEASE! I’m a huge fan of realistic romance. This book is not just relatable, it speaks to the struggles that many of us face in the dating game such as insecurities, worries, doubts, preconceived judgement, self-preservation defensive mechanisms, trust issues, etc. Ryan and Sofia’s chemistry was palatable and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it wasn’t just physical, we’re talking a real heart connection here. Throw in a little soap opera worthy conflict and drama and well, what you get is a heartfelt, what’s meant to be will be love story.

4.5 Stars!!!

This is the 3rd Fisher Brothers book, but can easily be read as a standalone. Adios Pantalones is my first book in the series and I had no problems following along with the story or characters.

This book follows the story of Ryan & Sofia. Ryan is the hot bartender who is a romantic at heart. He is good at his job, but wants to find love and not one night stands. Sofia has her heart guarded and see Ryan as playboy. She is not interested after seeing him in action. But looks can be deceiving.

Adios Pantalones is a fun and sexy read with a lot of twist and turns! You will absolutely fall in love with both Ryan & Sofia, their love story gives you all the feels!!! Also, love all the secondary characters - especially, Grant. He was my favorite and wish he was really my friend.

Next stop is to go back and read No Bad Days (book 1) :)

I loved this audio, the third in the series. It had also very dangerous actions that I was not expected. But was nice and tender. Once again a man won a woman he wanted not giving all up at the first attempt to get her attention. In her opinion they were to different but with some help of a friend and family it all turn to thr right dirrection.

The author said she loves this most, to me, just half half. Don’t know why R fall into S in deep, maybe he wants everything his family have so when S given a kid, a wife, a family imagine, he step up right away.

I don’t think we need D’s episode, this is not necessary, if she wants to tell us something, then she needs to write much more to describe how evil of the family, how they think they r superior in the society n how they don’t like Mexican but it didn’t.

That’s the end of the brothers’ story, I still waiting her another one, it’s say coming but it’s never.

How do you describe the perfect romantic man, Woo worthy. That would be the best way to describe Ryan Fisher. The man is amazing. He had me at Adios Pantalones. He's the Bartender that all the ladies, including me want to mix their drinks and flirt with them. BUT what none of us knows is that there's way more to Ryan Fisher.
He wants what Frank and Nick have. He want's to find the one.
Enter Sofia Richards. She everything Ryan is attracted to. PLUS she has a great personality but she wants nothing to doo with Ryan AKA manwhore in her eyes. Plus Sofia has a secret that she's not telling him.
Once again J Sterling blew me away. I believe The Fisher brothers series is now my favorite by her

Nailed to Perfection!!

Im not sure what I write in this review would do this incredible story justice!
The whole storyline enthralled me to the point I had trouble keeping my eyes open!
Ryan Fisher is the most beautiful caring and wonderful family man EVER!
You know the saying don’t judge a book by its cover, well don’t judge a bartender by his talents! It seems it may give some people issues lol!
In this case Sofia is not sure about Ryan and his flirty ways??!! Isn’t a job just that, a job??!!
Ah I so many feels in this book that I laughed, cried and swooned! There was some rather nail biting moments when you wonder what on earth will happen!
Outstanding heartwarming story that is a definite one click book!! The author has nailed the story to perfection!

I was looking forward to a good single mom romance with a non-player guy. And I got the sweet romance with this one. I liked Ryan and Sofia in general. They were sweet and a little sappy. But the baby daddy drama was over-the-top. I have a real pet peeve when characters want to keep secrets and handle all the drama on their own. There were multiple opportunities to involve law enforcement, and they just blew it off. Also, I liked Matson, her son, but he acted closer to 5 or 6, not the 8 year old he was supposed to be. Overall, a cute read. I did find myself skimming the internal dialogue after a while. But enjoyed the ending.

Was really looking forward to Ryan’s story and was pretty disappointed. He’s been my favorite brother.
The first two books were great!
This one.. not so much. Their story felt rushed and was just flat.

Just an Ok read. This is the first time I’ve read a book by this author so her style just wasn’t my cup of tea. Felt too cheesy for my taste.

Ryan and Sophie

Ryan was mad at Sophie because she didn't tell him she had a 8 year old son. They had never been on a date. She never gave him her number. She didn't want to go on a date with him. He works and own a bar and he allows women to be really inappropriate with him at work. He strips off his shirt for him
I agree with her. You have to be a lot more responsible when you have a child. That was CRAZY. She actually apologizes for it. DOUBLE crazy. Establishing boundaries early on is every person's right. Her ex Derek is the perfect example of WHY.

The thing with the Fisher Brothers is this:
It's a good thing for them they're cute because they are all dumb AF. To marry them is to carry their dumb carcasses through life.
A LOT OF WORK. They only do the right thing when they have no other choice.

I haven’t read a Jenn Sterling book since I stumbled upon her Sweetest Game series several years ago and when she contacted us about reviewing Adios Pantalones I couldn’t have been more excited fo say yes. To sweeten the deal even further this book features a a young single mom. I am a sucker for any young mom story so I knew between Sterling’s writing and this character I would enjoy this book.

Ryan is the prince charming type and he has no problem flaunting it. He is sensitive and sweet despite the reputation he has been given by tending the bar and his small stint of “fun.”

Sofia is what any mom needs to be for their kid. Loving, tough, and involved. She takes her role so seriously I think she had forgotten herself as a person... but what mom hasn’t?

Overall this is a mostly light read with a smidge of suspense. The characters are likable and I would love to go back and read about Ryan’s brothers. It is a good book to pick up and read in between a tear jerker or something with a lot of angst.

I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever for Ryan’s book!
Jenn definitely saved the best for last.

This story centres on “Princess” Ryan Fisher ~ the single, hot, cocktail making genius who ends every shift at the bar he owns with his brothers by getting his shirt off!!
His brothers spend their days making fun at the hopeful romantic that he is (hence the Princess title!) but all Ryan wants is to meet the right woman, settle down and start a family of his own.

Meet Sofia. A single mum to an 8 year old boy after getting pregnant before graduation to an utter douchebag - Derek!!
She’s heard about Ryan’s behaviour at the bar and doesn’t believe this is the right man to have around her son so puts him off without actually knowing the real Ryan.

Not going to spoil the book. Can be read as a stand-alone without reading No Bad Days or Guy Hater but I recommend reading the series in order!!

Gonna miss these boys Jenn ❤️💚💙

Meh...the H came across as too desperate. His instant connection and need for more from a woman who clearly wanted nothing to do with him was over the top and didn’t feel realistic. And she was a too old fashioned in her clinging to the judgement of people because she was a single mother. I totally get the wanting to protect your son and applaud the author for inserting that as part of the story line, but the judgement was unnecessary imo. The ex added another dimension, but it wasn’t fleshed out well enough to give it any depth. Almost seemed mafia like, but it felt like the author stalled with too many casual appearances that it felt as soon as the substance started, it ended. I found myself skimming to get to the end.

I absolutely adore Jenn Sterling's writing. Everything she writes is straight from her heart. Makes the stories that much better.

I've read all 3 of the Fisher Brothers' books and this one is my favorite. Loved Ryan and Sofia's story. Sensitive Ryan has always been my favorite Fisher brother just from the little snippets we got in Nick and Frank's books. So I knew I was going to love Ryan's book once I got my hands on it.

Seemed to drag on forever

I tried to enjoy this one. In fairness to the writer, I'm not all about the 'angst'. I enjoy ENJOYING a romance. This, for me, has not been an enjoyable romance. While it does actually seem to be going somewhere, for me, it has taken way and above too long in getting there. And now, we are heading in to 'angst' country, and I just don't have it in me to endure the other 50% of the book that is still to come. I'm calling it done at the 50% point.

Ok read

Sigh...I so wanted to love this book. Ryan was my favorite of the Fisher Brothers and I wanted his story to be epic. For me it wasn't. I just didn't care for Sophia at all. The book itself is well written and whether or not you like them you get to know these characters.

Adios Pantalones is the third standalone in the Fisher Brother’s Series by J. Sterling and we finally get to read Ryan’s story. Throughout the series, we’ve seen Ryan in the background, giving his brother’s solid advice, and always being the flirty bartender, but also a hopeless romantic, and in this book, we really get to see how much of a sweet romantic he really is!

Ryan wants what his brothers have, that love that consumes you, he’s sick of woman throwing themselves at him every night at the bar, so of course the one woman that he feels a spark with, is one who seems to hate him on sight. When Ryan meets Sofia under not the greatest circumstances, he’s drawn to her, but his focus was on making sure his friend Grant was okay. Once that was settled, he needed to know more about her, and she shut down every single one of his advances. I must say, in the beginning of this book, I really did not like Sofia, for the same reasons, that made Ryan walk away at first when he found out why she was pushing him away as well. Her reasoning for hating on him and not wanting to give him a chance could be seen as understandable, but she was being very judgemental and cold at the same time as well, and that really grated on my nerves at times in the first part of this book. I will say though, that she definitely grew on me and my feelings towards her changed.

Ryan and Sofia’s relationship is definitely not easy, and there are many factors that play into it. This book had a bit of suspense which I really liked, and the addition of seeing all of the characters from the previous books was awesome as well, plus Grant.. I loved him! This book was a great addition to the series, and I’m so happy to see the brothers all with the loves they deserve. I will say that this one, was my least favorite of the series, but I still adored it. I think it was because Sofia just got on my nerves so much for so long in the beginning of the book, but like I said, after that, I adored her.

Adios Pantalones is definitely worth a one-click, but so is all the rest of the Fisher Brother books if you haven’t read them yet. They are all standalone’s featuring a different brother, and full of fiesty woman and amazing men to fall in love with!

The title is AWESOME. I love it. That's what made me one-click on this. Without even reading any reviews! I just thought: c'mon, this sounds fun.

And it was. Sorta. I love that the book hero, Ryan Fisher, was looking for zero drama, the love-of-his-life honey, and just plain ol' romance. Instead, he finds himself in a bind. Falling in insta-love with a woman he meets during an emergency sitch, he inexplicably encounters a snippy woman who doesn't want anything to do with him. So, of course, he's now on the chase. Turns out, our young, hot, sexy bartender, Ryan, is waaaaayyy too good at his job. His female clients treat him like a free-for-all buffet; his former/harmless one-night-stands sum up his lover-boy reputation, and his personal romantic inclinations are misunderstood. Book heroine, Sofia, is not impressed.

So, I get it. The author wrote a book that turned the mirror around on women misbehaving towards a hot guy. As a female of the species, I have indeed witnessed my fellow females being raucous and turning the tables by offending men sexually-ish (i.e., the hooting and the hollering at Magic Mike shows, I imagine, are uncomfortable). Still, it's a sticky point. For every Ryan out there, there are, most likely, 10 actual sexually-offended real, live women. *cough, Harvey Weinstein, cough* I have no actual statistics, but for a man to boo and hoo about being seen as a sexual object? Well, tough shit, man.

Also, "Adios, Pantalones" sounds like a damned great cocktail. I wonder what the ingredients are.

ADIOS PANTALONES is the third book in the Fisher Brother series by J. STERLING but can be listened to as a standalone. MEG SYLVAN and OLIVER CLARKE narrated the audiobook.

Together with his brothers, Ryan owns a bad and has a womanizer image, but not everything is what it seems. He was actually very sweet, caring, and respectful and kept proving himself time and time again.

Sofia frustrated me many times. She kept saying people had judged her when she got pregnant at an early age, but she was the one who kept judging Ryan. That while he kept proving he wasn't anything like the person she thought he was.

I sound like a broken record, but Sofia's son, Madsen was too perfect.
Grant was hilarious! I loved the banter between Ryan and Grant and how Sofia teamed up with Grant to tease Ryan.

The pace wasn't really steady, sometimes the story went too slow for my liking. It took too long for Sofia and Ryan to get together, but once they were together, the story sped up.
The drama with Madsen's father was a little over the top and unrealistic.

The narration of this audiobook made perfect. Both narrators pulled me into the story and made me feel every emotion.

This story was far from perfect, but I still enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters, the banter, the humor, and the twists and turns.

Another great story in the series. Could be read as a standalone book but you really would be missing out if you did!

Ryan Fisher is the only single brother, and the girls who attend Sam's all want to be the one to change him. He has an outstanding reputation that very few know he doesn't live up to. He comes across as an outrageous flirt - that's what keeps the bar full, but really it's just Ryan being his friendly self.

One morning on his regular jog Ryan comes across a scene that shocks him. An older guy he regularly sees, Grant, has taken ill with a suspected heart attack and "an angel (Sofia)" helps, along with Ryan to get him to hospital. Unfortunately Sofia is quite rude and clearly doesn't like Ryan, but he can't for the life of him understand why, he's never seen her before in his life! It turns out that she has been to Sam's once, and meeting Ryan there, and seeing how he flirts with everyone she knows his type and doesn't like him on those grounds alone.

Is Ryan really the man he seems to be? What secret is Sofia hiding? Is anything as it seems on face value?

I have been so excited for Ryan's story since the beginning. Since then, Ryan has been my favorite Fisher brother. But I didn't want to make it "official" until after I read his story to really decide... Well, now I've read it and he's definitely my favorite.
I loved how soft and caring he was. When we see him in the first 2 books, his personality and how he acts doesn't show that side of him. He just wants to find that girl he wants to marry and be in a relationship like his brothers.
Then we meet our heroine... And we find out Sofia is a single mom. Now, if you know me at ALL, you'll know how much I LOVEEEEE single parent books. That also wasn't like a "SOLD!" for me... It was also just Ryan as a character, the overall storyline and a character who we meet in the book.
This book also got VERY suspenseful pretty quick... Which completely threw me for a loop. I didn't expect it to be so suspenseful, but at the same time I did... Just not to the extent it went to.
Overall, I loved this book! You guys really need to meet the Fisher brothers if you haven't already!
