Daniel Hammersmith is the fastest gun in his outfit. As part of the Connor Gang, he and his fellow desperados rob anything near their hideout. Leading the gang is Jack Connor, a bandit chief whose intellect is matched by his violent action. To Daniel, Connor is more than a leader. He’s a father figure.

Early on, Dan lost his parents and became a ward of the state. After escaping his youth home, he crossed paths with the gang. Dan joined up and quickly rose in popularity, largely because of his lightning draw. Then one afternoon, everything changed.

While robbing stagecoaches, Connor orders the execution of every civilian. Dan doesn’t shy away from violence, but this is truly depraved. He manages to save one woman, then later that night, he flees into the darkness. He finds refuge in a distant town, and years pass without incident. This convinces him that his past is dead and buried. Unbeknownst to him, he’s on a collision course with his old gang. That’s not all.
