This is the first book I have read by Annabelle Fogerty, but I will certainly read more. Her writing is face-paced, keeps you reading, and extremely interesting,
Riley has begun a successful writing career and her thrillers are selling well. Then, on a trip to the park, her daughter (age 5) is kidnapped. There are no good leads, and eventually it ruins her marriage. She moves from California to a secluded home in Montana where she continues to write but has very little social life.
During a snowstorm, a teenager appears at her door having broken down on the road. Riley takes in Miranda and feeds her and gives her a bed. But something strange is happening. Miranda reminds her of her daughter and when she hears her singing a tune to herself, her suspicions are aroused. She made up the words to that song and used to sing it to her daughter.
When Miranda disappears without saying goodbye, she begins to investigate further. With the help of a librarian who also becomes a love interest, the story continues and gets more and more exciting. Read this book if you want to be glued to your chair and love suspense.
I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest review.
