Relationships are off his menu…until one woman brings his guilty heart back to life.

JT can’t forgive himself for bringing the wrong date to a wedding—one that nearly killed his sister. While things turned out fine and Maggie is blissfully happy with her new husband, JT’s guilt is eating him alive. Certain his "crazy" detector is broken, he's sworn off dating, and his friends and family are worried that he’ll never let himself live, or love, again.

Sofia Benevides, Common Grounds Café’s sunny, raven-haired manager, has worked with owners JT and Maggie for years, and their partnership runs like a well-oiled machine. She loves her job, but her conservative, very traditional family is constantly on her back about her lack of matrimonial prospects. No one knows that she has secretly carried a torch for her hunky, normally happy-go-lucky boss since she started there as a waitress five years ago.

Acutely aware of his family’s worry, and with Sophia’s family putting her under ever increasing pressure to find a man and settle down, JT comes up with the perfect solution: fake dating. But his win-win scenario takes a hit when they realize their feelings are anything but fake—and way more complicated than they anticipated…

Note : Reedeemed is book 3 in the Gladewater series but can be read as a standalone.

"I thought I knew almost everything about you, but you keep surprising me."

The Gladewater crew is back again! I love the dynamics between everyone; JT, Sofia, Maggie, Zane, Dani, and Levi. Once you finish one book in the Gladewater series, don't think the story is over yet. You can see them popping up in the other books. It's great because you can see what happens after their stories end.

Redeemed takes place after the events of Unbroken. In a blink of an eye, everything can change. It doesn't take much. JT isn't who he was before. Everyone is worried about him, and they want the old JT back. However, they aren't sure how to make it happen. Guilt is a powerful thing. It doesn't matter whether or not it's rational. If you feel even a bit of guilt, it'll follow you and try to eat you up until it consumes you.

Don't you hate when you are a mess, and people constantly tell you to get it together as if you didn't already know that? Knowing and doing are entirely different; doing is more complicated than knowing. The hardest step is to start. But, once you begin, everything gets easier.

Family expectations are a complex situation. In many cultures, there's a certain age one should be married. If a female is past the age of being expected to be married, people talk and are worried. They would think that the female would be destined to be alone. Sofia's family is concerned about her and tries to set her up with people hoping she will settle down and marry someone soon. The solution to that? JT and Sofia decide to fake date so that people will get off their backs and no longer worry about them. The thing about fake dating is that it can get messy. The relationship with the person you previously have with the other person can change if something happens. There could be one-sided feelings. And there are times when it's as if you're walking on eggshells, unsure how to act because you're afraid you'll upset the other person.

Sometimes, it's easy not to see what's in front of you. It could be right in front of you, but you wouldn't even be able to pick it out, even if it slapped you in the face. Likewise, you can see everything else around you that doesn't involve you, but anything that does, it's as if it's in your blind spot, and you wouldn't be able to catch it.

There was a moment when it got very emotional for me. I didn't cry, but I was on the verge of doing so. It felt realistic as if I was there, and it was happening to me.

While reading, I highlighted more than needed and wrote notes because I started late and did not want to forget anything. If I had started at a decent time, I'm pretty sure I would've finished it in one day. For some reason, I couldn't seem to be able to put Redeemed down! It wasn't easy to stop reading for me to sleep. After waking up, I continued. With so much to do, I ignored it and read instead. Every time I told myself I had to stop so that I could do something else, I kept telling myself I'll finish one more chapter first.

Maggie reading Collide was cute. I love it when authors leave little easter eggs and a nod to things in the real world.

The only thing I had a problem with was the miscommunication between Sofia and JT. It caused so much drama. But then again, I believe there wouldn't be a story without miscommunication. Their relationship would've been perfect, and there's no such thing as a perfect relationship. There's always a problem, however big or small, or it wouldn't have been realistic. Other than that, I enjoyed Redeemed and can't wait to read more from Dallas Ryan.

JT and Sofía book 3 in Gladewater Series. This fake relationship, work place, multicultural romance is so good. I was so excited to read JT story and I’m not disappointed with the results. It’s so good, the story, the romance and all the drama, the twist are really surprising. JT is the perfect knight in shining armor, dreamy with his 1000-watt smile. He’s going to make you laugh and swoon. Sofía is the perfect one to love JT for who he really is. She’s determined and lovable and so freaking brave. Now I want to eat everything they eat in the book lol. Definitely I’m going to try new recipes this week.

Redeemed
Book 3 of the Gladewater Series
By Dallas Ryan
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

« It was a stupid idea. Nerve mind. Pretend I didn’t say anything. We’ll figure something else out »

And that’s exactly what I was thinking at the beginning of the book… What a dumb idea! Getting in a fake relationship.

BUT… What a great story!

Sophia is a strong female lead, JT is her boss (!) and she's been holding a torch for years. When JT and Sophia end up fake dating, it’s because they need to save face for both their families. What started as a sham began to feel pretty real all of a sudden.

I really liked that story. I haven't read the first 2 books in the series and I don't feel I missed anything. The couples from previous books are friends and appears in Redeemed.

Its not a 5 star because I hated a character (Sophia’s ex) and his story arc was 🫤 I don’t want to spoil by saying too much. And it’s definitely not a show stopper. HEA but I would've loved an epilogue. Maybe I wanted the story to never end… In a good way.

I recommend that book if you love:

Fake dating trope
Heat with no mutt
Sweet MMC

I received an eARC, my opinions are my own.

JT & Sofia
Where swonny & sassy meet! 🤍

I have been waiting for JT’s book since we met him but especially with all he went through in the last book.

Fake dating your employee as a way to help both with her family trying to set her up and his family and friends worrying about him. What could go wrong? Or right?

Immediately the song that pops in my head... is 🎶 One kiss is all it takes... falling in love with me! 🎶 it just keeps playing over and over, everytime JT kisses her, he falls deeper for her. They're friends. But they kiss and there's this immediate pull and connection. And damn is it everything!

But like no relationship is easy. Throw is a psycho ex, a mother who's hard to miss, misunderstandings, miscommunication and a whole lot of stubbornness.

Redeemed is an absolutely amazing book! Dallas Ryan does it again! JT and Sofia are absolutely amazing together. And I agree with JT, he may have saved Sofia but in the ends she saved him too!

Def a 5 star read! Also Mama Wade's getting a book!!! I can't wait!!! 🤍

Redeemed is the third book in the Gladewater series but the first one I have read, so they can be read as standalone books, but there will be spoilers if you read them out of order! This was a really sweet story that I found incredibly relatable.
JT appears to be the strong brooding type but you quickly get to see the depth in his emotions. ¡Sophia es la luz del sol para su lluvia! (Sophia is the sunshine to his rain).

What begins as an agreement between friends to stave off the forced blind dates and questions from family, quickly evolves into something much more. I think what I enjoyed most about this book is Sophia is the self assured, confident one in the relationship. JT is constantly questioning if she feels the same way and over analyzing every word. It was incredibly refreshing to see the FMC be the solid and sure one for a change!

Overall this book felt like home. The characters had real chemistry, the settings were beautifully described and the food made me feel like I was sitting at my Abuelita’s table.

Redeemed by Dallas Ryan tells the story of JT and Sofia. JT is the co owner of Common Ground with his sister Maggie who had recently suffered a traumatic experience that JT blames himself for. Sofia on the other hand is from a traditional Latin American family and marriage was continuously the main topic of discussion whenever she was around. After a displeasing encounter her and TJ came up with the idea to “fake date”, but we all know what happens in these situations lol. Together we watched the love bloom between the pair as we watched them overcome obstacles together. Overall I would give the book 4.5 out of 5 stars. The story was very refreshing and although I’ve seen similar concepts like this, the way Dallas Ryan wrote this book kept me entertained, emotionally engaged and honestly I just couldn’t put the book down.

After a mistake of a date that nearly got his sister killed, JT has sworn off relationships. After all, if he didn't know that girl was crazy, how can he trust that he has any judgement when picking a girl to date? Sofia works for JT and his sister at their cafe and she has a problem too: her family wants her to find a man and they are not above intervening to make it happen. So, the two of them come up with a plan: they're going to "fake date" each other. But as time goes on, there is nothing fake about the relationship. Can they make a go of it given their history? Can they trust each other or will past relationships intervene?

I loved both of these characters and I think that they should have been in a relationship for a long time before they started fake dating. They were so cute together and since Sofia was already infatuated with JT, he just needed that push.

ARC REVIEW

REDEEMED by Dallas Ryan

Gladewater Book 3

Romance - 218 pages

This book takes off shortly after book 2. But follows JT and Sofia.  It's a great story about JT overcoming what happened to his sister in book 2 and finding himself again while pretending to date Sofia, who needs her family off her back.

I loved watching JT come back to life and watching him fall so quickly for Sofia.  I was excited the "heel" in this book was a man.  I was tired of the woman being the bad guys and that JT was able to "save" Sofia.

Honestly, this was my fav book of the Series.  I highly recommend it!!

This has been my favorite romance book so far. Normally i dislike the main female character because they're too weak in my opinion, but not Sofia. She is a badass. Shes smart, ambitious and doesn't put up with crap. I also felt like i could relate to her struggles dealing with people around her harassing her about marriage. But... lets talk about the star of the book... JT. he has tattoos, he's hot, he is protective and he cooks. Do you need any more than that? In addition to some great side characters characters too, the plot was really fantastic and funny, and it got so intense i was getting stressed out and couldn't stop reading but in a really good way. I'm for sure going back to read the rest of the series and to be honest anything else Dallas Ryan writes.

Author Dallas Ryan delivers with “Redeemed”, the third book in her Gladewater Series. J.T has withdrawn into himself and his work as he deals with his feelings of guilt regarding the attack on his sister Maggie. Sofia has been harboring feelings for her boss for several years now and cannot stand seeing him hurting. They decide a fake relationship may be just the thing to get all those well-meaning match making friends and family members off their backs. Enter Sofia’s Ex who has decided he wants her back. Don’t miss this engaging small town, friends to lovers story about finally seeing what has been right in front of you all along.

I was given an ARC copy from the author via Romance me with Books, and this is my honest review.

YES!! I've been looking forward to JT and Sofia's story since finishing Maggie and Zane's.

I know stories would become very short without any issues between characters, but I find it really frustrating when characters stop themselves from asking completely legit questions to avoid rocking the boat.
Also, things seem to escalate very rapidly. It made sense in book 2, but seem a little forced in this one.

All in all I like this book. If you like steamy romances I highly recommend reading it.

This is a super cute workplace romance with some spice! Sophia's mother is breathing down her neck to get married and have babies. She would love to do that... just not with the people her mom suggests, she wants JT. Co-owner of the cafe she works at and her boss. When a couple of Sophia's moms pick of suitors comes into the cafe and cause a kerfuffle, JT suggests they fake date to get her off Sophia's back, and put his sister at ease. When fake dating feels a little too real and secrets are revealed, can they really keep feelings out of it? Its an easy read and a fun one at that.

JT and Sofia are such a cute couple. This fake dating romance turns into such a good love story. Two people trying to please their families one has always had feels the other does t realize he does until they are in the middle of the fake dating scene. It definetely took some twist and turns for them to get their feelings figured out. The plot twist towards the end was so unexpected but made such a good read.

Content warning: PTSD, trauma, sexual

He is afraid of his own judgment and she secretly loves him; fake dating sounds like the perfect plan.

Redeemed: Book Three of The Gladewater Series by Dallas Ryan is the third in The Gladewater Series and was an interesting take on dealing with familial control and trauma through love. After he caused the near death experience of his sister, JT has dealt with PTSD and has sworn off women. Sofia’s dealing with the pressure of her family to get married. So, they decide to deal with their problems by faking a relationship. But as with anything in close proximity, it can develop into more. Will old wounds get healed and love spread or will they ultimately make things worse?

Redeemed was such a good story! First and foremost, I love that it can be read as a standalone story while also giving reference to previous characters in the series. That was done seamlessly. With the combination of JT dealing with the trauma of almost getting his sister killed and Sofia trying to deal with an overbearing family trying to force marriage on her, there was lots to take in. I’m always for characters living and dealing with their mental health and learning to cope.

It was also nice to see a storyline where the fake dating couple were not strangers or new acquaintances. They had known each other for over five years and were friends. Even though Sofia had a little crush on JT, nothing happened further than their boss employee relationship. It was also very refreshing to see a multicultural relationship as well as the levels of familial influences within her Puerto Rican family. Thank you for having the blended language within the story as well. It made it feel more realistic to what bilingual families are like when code switching. Redeemed was a lot of fun while also being intense and a beautiful love story.

If you love a good multicultural friends to lovers story with a pinch of fake dating on the side, then this is for you! It does get spicy, so if the heat isn’t for you, this may not be either.

I have been waiting for JT's story and Ms. Ryan delivered a fantastic romance that will have you swooning over JT, wanting to give him a hug but at the same time a slap upside the head. Her writing style and storyline had me unable to put this book down. Redeemed is JT and Sofia's story and it is one of emotions, a few laughs and two people who skirt around their true feelings. We learned from Unbroken that JT is suffering from the guilt that he was at fault for what happened to his sister. Withdrawing from everything and throwing himself into his work at the cafe, he is not the man that he used to be. The problem is that the more he is at work the more he sees Sofia, an employee. Why is this a problem? JT has had feelings for her for a while but will not do anything about them until a situation arises that makes Sofia very uncomfortable. His solution is to start a fake relationship with the woman that he fantasizes about. No problem right? Oh so wrong. Lack of communication, events from the past and feelings all cause JT to overreact and put a wedge between the two of them. When there is a turn of events and danger is present, JT realizes that he needs to become the man that Sofia deserves.

The connection between JT and Sofia is perfect and the chemistry is off the charts. They are two people that were made for one another. I highly recommend picking up Redeemed and get ready for a wonderful HEA romance.

JT is having a hard time bouncing back from a situation involving his sister. He blames himself and his solution is to stay away from relationships. Sofia has an overbearing mother and family who want to push her into a relationship. When JT approaches Sofia about a fake relationship to get everyone off their back she immediately agrees. I mean she has secretly crushed on JT the past few years anyway so she figures it’s a win-win.

JT quickly sees Sofia in a totally different way and wants more than a pretend relationship with her. Their fake relationship goes from 0-100 fairly quickly and I loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, JT still has some insecurities and a bit of a temper that cause some issues along the way. Add in Sofia’s jealous ex who is back in the picture and wanting her back and it’s a recipe for disaster. There were some definite bumps in the road while they work through these issues but thankfully, they were no match for the chemistry between JT and Sofia.

This book can be read as a stand-a-lone but promise me when I tell you the entire series is absolute perfection! They are quick steamy reads with such amazing stories and cross over characters. I was so glad to finally get JT and Sofia’s story and their HEA!

Redeemed is book three in the Gladewater Series and follows the story of JT and Sofia. JT is still reeling from the events on the previous book in which his sister was attacked. With his self esteem and confidence at an all time low, he is putting all his focus and time into Common Grounds Café. Noticing him withdrawing into himself, the manager of said café, Sofia, tries her best to get him to see that what happened was not his fault; all she wants is the old JT back. Events lead them to starting up a 'fake' romance to get family off their backs... but can it really stay fake when there are other feelings at play?

We've met Sofia and JT in previous books of the series and so it was lovely for them to have their own story. I really enjoyed the level of angst throughout and thought the author did a fantastic job of incorporating and respecting Sofia's Latina heritage. Dallas' writing style is extremely easy to read, without being too simple, and the chapter flow steadily into one another. Told in the 3rd person, we get both JT and Sofia's views throughout as well. Fabulous addition to the series and would thoroughly recommend.

Redeemed is the third installment of the Gladewater Series, but it can be read as a stand alone novel. I read this book as part of Romance Me With Books’s tour for the author, Dallas Ryan. Some of the characters from the first two books are side characters in this one, but reading their stories is not completely necessary to read this particular novel.

Overall I would give this novel a three out of five. It’s a cute concept, which gives the reader a lot of sweet moments to keep you reading and the two main characters have fantastic chemistry. However, I felt like the plot could have used a bit more fleshing out. The “villain” of the story is a bit two dimensional for my taste, and his motivations seem a bit shallow. It leads to a bit of a soap opera vibe whenever the main conflict comes into play. The story moves along a good pace though, and I thought it had the perfect level of spice for the length and plot.

I did enjoy the interactions of the two main characters, and their story definitely kept me engaged. If you like a sweet contemporary romance, you might consider giving this series a go.

Book #3 of The Gladewater series

fake dating, multicultural romance, friends to lovers, colleagues, forced proximity, workplace romance, playboy hero, Latina heroine, family drama, trauma, second chance, redemption, (touch of) suspense, steamy, miscommunication, crush

I really enjoyed JT and Sofia's relationship as they both were dealing with some family drama, his guilt for his reckless former behavior that almost lost him his sister, and she the constant reminder from family that she's at a age where she should be married and with kids. Sofia has been a friend with a crush on her boss/colleague and JT has been blind he realizes when he begins to see Sofia for what a great catch she is but of course not until they begin fake dating each other to get their family off their back. Can these two friends become lovers and maybe more?

The third book in the Gladewater series, Redeemed, is the story of JT and Sofia. After something happens with JT's sister, he's found himself struggling and having a hard time. He's decided to swear off relationships. Sofia has an overbearing family that is determined to see her married off. When JT approaches Sofia about fake dating so they can get everyone off their backs, she readily agrees. Can they pull off what they wanted to do, or will they end up falling for one another? As far as I'm concerned, Redeemed was pure perfection. I loved everything this book had to offer. While it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading them in order, then you can come back and thank me later.

This is a book tour stop for Romance Me With Books.

I’m a sucker for small town romances what can I say. JT and Sophia have always been constants in each others lives until one day it changes. They realize what they’ve been looking for has been in front of them the entire time.

I loved their dynamic as coworkers in the beginning and how it evolved over the course of the book! My favorite part is when JT is trying to win over Sophia’s mom (no spoilers!).

If you know me at all you know I love a good friends to lovers book. There’s just something about them knowing each other before they have that aha moment. That’s one of the reasons I really loved this book. Sofia and JT already have this foundation of trust and that leads to their fake dating scenario. Their relationship doesn’t feel fake from the very beginning. I love how Dallas embraced Sofia’s heritage. My least favorite thing is miscommunication because I just want them to TALK to one another but at the same time it was so real. All in all a very good read.

Another fantastic addition to the Gladewater Series! I loved following JT and Sophia as they went from fake dating, to realizing what they felt for each other was real. After reading books 1 and 2 in the series, I couldn’t wait for JT to get his own story!

JT is a perfect mix of charming and endearing. His protective qualities make him even more swoony. Sophia is independent and fierce, which gives JT a run for his money. When the two come together, their chemistry is off the charts!

Received this as an ARC and unfortunately DNF’d at 60%. I really enjoyed the story and pacing up until the 40% mark when the fake dating almost instantly turned into real dating with not much build up. That’s also about the time Sofia’s ex came into the story and I started to find the FMC unlikable.

I can see how this story would appeal to others so I definitely recommend giving JT & Sofia’s story a try!
