I received a gifted copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the book tour hosted by Lovebookstours.
This book is full of brains is an amazing children's non fiction book all about the human rain. This book is the best book about the brain that I've ever read so far and can't wait to share it with my class - they will love this! The book has loads of colourful illustrations, fun and interesting facts and information and even some experiments to try. I found myself doing all the experiments as i read through it. This bookish great for dipping in and out of but I did read it cover to cover. This is a great STEM book resource and will be a definite hit in the classroom!
This book is jam packed full of fun and fascinating scientific facts about brains. There is just so much to learn! This book is aimed at 9-11 year olds but my daughter (aged 7) has loved dipping into it and I have also loved reading it!
The book teaches us all about the inner workings of the human brain and demonstrates all the amazing things that a brain can do. It answers so many questions including: Why do we sleep? What happens inside our head whilst we sleep? How does your brain tell the rest of your body what to do? How do senses work? How fast can a thought travel? The book also looks at the brains of animals, insects, dinosaurs and robots! There are fun experiments included in the book to learn more about how the brain works. One of our favourite pages was looking at the brain inside a jumping spider and an Octopus. We loved attempting to test our Octopus intelligence (by rubbing our belly with one hand, patting our head with another, rotating one leg in the opposite direction to the one rubbing our tummy and attempting to recite the alphabet backwards!) The information is brilliantly presented and the beautiful illustrations and layout make it extremely accessible and enjoyable to read. This is a must have book for all school libraries as well as being a brilliant book to own at home. An important read for all the budding young scientists out there!
This book is packed full of goodness! Such an informative and exciting read for kids and adults! I went through the book with my nine year old nephew Dylan, who is a sucker for anything to do with the human body and how it works. This book was perfect for him.
Everything is explained in very simple terms so it’s easy to understand and very reader friendly, there are little experiments you can do in each section which are pretty fun and the pictures are ‘really cool’ - Dylan’s words.
Considering the book is only 96 pages long, it has a ton of content, Dylan remembered many of the facts from it weeks after reading the book. Now to me, that is one sure sign of an amazing educational read, when the child doesn't realise they are actually learning something, a tremendous job has been done!
This is now one of Dylan’s favourite books and possibly one of mine too! Well worth picking up, I wish this book had been out when I was a little nipper!
Thank you to #LoveBooksTours for providing me with a free copy of this book for review!
Now I would have LOVED this when I was a kid! I was always intrigued by the human body, both the icky and the fascinating - and learning about the brain would have been right up my street.
The lovely illustrations are amazing and the colours make reading and learning about the human body so much fun! I wish science was like this when I was younger!
I found myself testing out some of the experiments too, like testing your brain power’s frontal lobe with your hand movement - and they were fun and easy to do so any kid would have fun trying these out
This book is such an amazing and informative read, it is completely eye catching and engrossing for adults and children alike. I found the book to be very engaging, especially for my son who has been asking to read it every night since we received the book.
This book has really helped develop a reading bond between me and my little one, as well as reading time with him and his father. This book is very intriguing and fun, and my little on was asking lots of questions and pointing out different illustrations and objects in the book.
The activities that are included within are an absolute joy, especially some of the experiments, my little one was amazed by the illusions (“that's crazy mummy”) and I found myself and my husband having a debate over the train line illusion (they were both the same size may I point out!) Some of my son’s favourites have now become party tricks, he is often telling people he knows he big their brain is now thanks to the hand measurement information!
This is such a fantastic learning resources for younger children, and I love the fact that it is written and illustrated (the illustrations are simply stunning by the way!) towards its target audience very well! I would easily recommend this to school, after school clubs and parents alike, this would make for a fantastic birthday or Christmas present!

Did you know that a woodpecker’s tongue is so long that it wraps all the way around the back of their brain? No? Neither did I until I read this fabulous and enlightening book about brains.
Crammed with interesting facts, cool experiments and beautiful illustrations, it’s a great read for adults and children alike. My nine year old daughter and I both read it and loved it. Here are her thoughts:
“This Book Is Full Of Brains is an amazing book with loads of facts that were easy to understand and really great illustrations. I particularly liked the information about how animals’ brains work. I don’t normally read non-fiction books but I’m really glad I read this. I took it in to school to share with my class as part of my science project and everyone loved it.”
Понякога ме обвиняват, че мозъка ми е пълен само с книги. The boys thought that this book was really good and that some of the facts were very funny! They want to show it in their classes and to their friends as they think they will really enjoy it too!
We really recommend this book and especially think it would make a great addition to any classroom.
What a brilliant resource for teaching about the human body . The illustrations are amazing and eye catching. It provides so much information in a fun and exciting way. My 3 year old daughter wanted to read it “because the brains (on the cover) look funny” We read the part about dinosaurs, because she loves them, and she was delighted to find out that a T-Rex was so intelligent 🤣 I will be recommending this to all my #ks2teacher friends and parents of #ks2 children
What a fantastic, fun and informative book for all ages! Crammed full of facts about brains of all kinds, animal brains, how they work, how our brain helps us see etc. Beautifully illustrated and super colourful with lots of little experiments to try at home, which you don't really need any equipment for. Whilst reading this with my young daughter we both learned lots of facts and the little diagrams are fab for helping to explain!
This would be a perfect Christmas present for any brainiacs big and small!! 🧠
