Beautiful Beast by USA Today bestselling author Olivia Peters is a contemporary romance fairytale retelling inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
Adam
I rejected my legacy to fight wars in foreign countries, risking my life for the rush.
Taking my place as the Prince of Wall Street is the last thing on my mind when I return home from Syria broken. But I didn’t bargain on meeting a beautiful woman who thinks she can heal me.
She’s wrong. There’s a reason they call me the beast.
Belle
I’m living in a penthouse next to an Adonis-like, sinfully tattooed billionaire.
What starts as a chance encounter turns to secret dates and toe-curling nights. He’s hiding a dangerous secret, but I can’t resist falling for him anyway.
He isn’t the only one with a dark past. And I’m ready to take on the beast.
If you love Jaci Burton’s sexy heroes and enjoy steamy stories by Lauren Blakely, then BEAUTIFUL BEAST is your next addicting read.
Author’s note: Beautiful Beast was previously published as part of the Once Upon A Broken Crown fairytale retelling anthology. It will be published as a standalone book on October 13, 2022. In addition to a brand new cover, it contains a bonus epilogue that will make you fall even harder in love with Adam and Belle.
Olivia Peters is a USA Today bestselling author of steamy contemporary romance. She’s based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but spends as much time as possible at her lake house dreaming about her next story.
Olivia writes unapologetically about hot, dirty-talking alpha men, and the strong, sexy women who bring them to their knees. Readers can count on angst, steam and guaranteed happily ever afters.
When Olivia isn’t writing, she’s spending time with her family, enjoying the great outdoors, and cooking up a storm in her cluttered kitchen.

Adam had planned on avoiding everyone for at least six months, but he finds a gorgeous woman trespassing. She is holding a stack of papers with a boxer at her side and they are snooping around his private foyer.
How can he get rid of her without her seeing him exit the elevator to get inside his penthouse apartment? He has just returned from the nightmare that was Syria and he just needs to be alone to heal.
Belle has just inherited her grandmother Mrs. Alliston's NY apartment and somehow found herself on the wrong floor. She was in the amazing lobby of the penthouse apartment and then the rude man told her to return to the lobby for the correct elevator that Mrs. Addison was on the floor below his five-story penthouse. Five-story penthouse...in New York?
The man couldn't even do her the courtesy of speaking to her face-to-face as he spoke through just a crack in the door. She was determined to make friends with this man if it was the last thing she did.
This has to be one of my favorite Beauty and the Beast retellings. Adam has scars both inside and out from his time in Syria. But belle was determined that he not shut out the world and hide in his penthouse.
This story is very well written and the characters are fully developed and totally relatable despite him being a gazillionaire...oh and a mercenary. I totally loved his description of Belle 'chaos wrapped in a very pretty package'. He doesn't know what hit him when Belle came into his life.
This book is action-packed from page one and steamy hot!!! Highly recommend!
Adam and Belll's story follows the idea of Beauty and the Beast and is a beautiful fairy tale that will have your heart beating a little faster. Although I say this is like a fairy tale, this is not your child's fairy tale as Olivia gives you a spicy filled one. Adam is an intriguing man that does not want the world to see him so keeps himself hidden. When Bell walks into his life he is thrown by this beautiful and outgoing woman that will not leave him alone. Why will she not leave him alone? Bell is trying to fit into a place and lifestyle that she is so far removed from that she feels out of her element. When she comes across Adam he is someone that she wants to know more about. The harder he pushes her away the harder she fights to be with him. I loved the twist that Olivia out on Beauty and the Beast. You will want a good chink of time to read this one because I know I couldn't put it down.
Beautiful Beast by Olivia Peters is the fairytale retelling everyone needs to read. It’s intense, and emotional, and powerful, and heart wrenching, and absolutely amazing! From the subtle details Peters weaves into the tale (pay attention to both Adam and Belle’s best friends’ names) to the throwback homages to the classic fairytale (think roses and libraries), this story nuances out all the feels. The steam level- off the charts! The characters- beautifully created and developed throughout the story, ringing true to the Belle and Beast we all know, but upping the ante in a modern world of haves and have nots. The tension between the characters builds upon their own inner struggles to break boundaries and build bonds worthy of a stunning HEA. This story is serious book hangover material. Be prepared to stay up all night finishing this book, I know I did. And I’ll do it again.
This was an excellent modern take on Beauty and the Beast. Adam and Belle were wonderful together. Neither one had a good childhood but their reaction to it is very different. Adam joins the military and becomes a jaded and hard protector and Belle is a ray of sunshine looking for the best in others. Adam came back from a mission with his face and soul scarred and Belle happens to be his new neighbor. She is persistent and breaks down his walls and makes him fall in love with her despite his fears. He doesn’t think he is good enough for her and is concerned that he will hurt her because of his PTSD. Olivia makes us feel their pain, insecurity and love as they navigate through to their HEA.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about Adam and Belle. A man determined to make his own way in the world away from his father and all his father represents until the unthinkable happens, not once but twice. An accident and a terminal illness make Adam more closed off than ever before. However, he can’t escape his gorgeous new neighbor, Belle. She barrels into his world like a tornado and she refuses to leave! I love the interactions between them and how her sunshine overshadows his grump. They have some interesting issues to overcome and I loved the way their relationship developed through them. Definite must read!
I absolutely love this retelling of Beauty and the Beast by Olivia Peters. This is not the story that us readers grew up on aka "Disney" version. Nope, this version is Showtime rated. I have read many books by Olivia, and they all bring the "steam", but I have to say this is by far the "steamiest" story of them all.
Adam was rough around the edges, but he was no match for Belle. She definitely won Adam over and that is when things really heated up. Not to say that the sexual tension before than was anything but HOT. If this is your first introduction to Olivia Peters, you are in for a great treat, and I can guarantee you will become a fan.
This was such an awesome steamy book! I loved stories based on Beauty and the Beast and this one was no disappointment! Belle and Adam have so much to work on but they are both willing to put in the work. Until Adam gets scared. It gets all too real for him and pushes Belle away. She is a strong woman though. Both have have terrible childhoods so there is quite a bit for them to work through. I absolutely loved this book! This author is quickly becoming a one-click favorite! I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Belle inherited her grandmother’s apartment and her closest neighbour is Adam. With her dog Buster she slowly works on Adam to show him his life is not so bad. The funniest part is when she uses children’s books from the library to teach him how to be neighbourly. I enjoyed their interactions and how she wears him down. This was a good read and I would recommend it. I received a free book and the views and opinions are my own.
Adam and Belle had to fight hard for their happiness. Life is never easy you have to work at it. It helped that Adam is wealthy in money and Belle was wealthy is her belief and love to get Adam through his troubles. This was an excellent read and I will certainly read more from this author.
Great story. Adam and Belle's story conveyed what many people today to thru in processing their trauma and overcoming their insecurities and letting other people validate them. Love does conquer all especially when you find your soulmate. Yes I do believe in soulmates. Good job Olivia. Read this in one setting.
Beautiful Beast by Olivia Peters – Belle works as a children’s librarian at the New York Public library, has an adorable dog, and her grandmother’s lovely apartment. The fact that this sweet bookworm also gets her broody, scarred, retired military, billionaire neighbor feels like Olivia Peters’ fantasy came true! Sweet and sad! Happy Reading!
Beauty and the Beast is my all-time favorite Disney movie so I have pretty high expectations for any version of the story… this was a perfect retelling/reimagining. Both Adam and Belle have scars and issues and they’re each the perfect person to help the other work thru them.
I absolutely loved this retelling of a Disney classic. This well written book was just so wonderful and it was at times hot and sexy. I was hooked from the first page and I devoured it. A truly wonderful read!
I fell in love with this story. A broken man, Adam, who is trying to get back to the man he was, even though he was a jerk when he first met Belle. He grew on me as the story went on. Olivia did a fantastic job with these two characters
I love Beauty and the Beast! This was such an amazing version of it! I could not put the book down once I picked it up! It was so sweet and very hot. Belle is so strong and amazingly perfect for Adam. Adam is the perfect Beast, but the goodness in him is so beautiful!
