The shifter world has announced its presence...and must now deal with the consequences.
Mike Jackson knew when the other members of his military unit started finding mates that his life would be heading for some major changes. The decision to leave the military was his, but now that Mike is free, he's wary and bored. When the call comes in to help a Pack facing dangerous threats, he's more than glad to help. He hopes getting back into the thick of things will calm him and his wolf.
Becca Nelson's heart is breaking at the horrible fires plaguing her town. Someone is out to destroy her community and the Pack has no idea who it could be. Her father, the Alpha, makes a call for help and brings Mike into her life. Becca knows that Mike is the wolf for her the moment she meets him.
With a direct threat against Becca, an ex showing up, and a kidnapping, Mike and Becca might not have the time to save both the town and each other.
It'll take everything Mike has in him to keep the Pack Daughter safe and give him time to stake his claim. That is, if Becca doesn't rescue him first.
I live in Texas with my husband, daughter, and three Labrador retrievers. By day you can find me at my 'day job' buried under a pile of paperwork but at night I am at my computer creating new worlds!
I have always loved the paranormal. Shape-shifters, witches, and vampires have been my number one choice of reading material so when I strated to write it was the genre I chose.
I currently have several books released through Totally Bound. I have one long running series the Were Chronicles and in March 2014 a spin-off series the Shifter Chronicles will be revealed.
I also have several stand alone novellas and novels.
I am working hard to bring more stories to the readers so they can sit back and relax while losing themselves in the paranormal romance world.
This one was okay. Probably my least favourite of this series. I just didn't connect with the hero and heroine as much as I wanted to. Although I loved the scene where they played as wolves. So adorable. One of the reasons why I love shifter novels so much.
To be honest, I was more invested in the relationship between Todd and Kenny. I would have loved to read their story. I wonder if the author will ever have two male heroes as the main couple instead of having them as sub plots.
Were Chronicles has been a good read for me. I enjoyed following the progress of the shifter world as they lived in secrecy to finally announcing to the world they exist. The struggles, anticipation, and eventually, the reveal to the world felt real. In this latest book, Pack Daughter, their presence has announced and now are deal with the consequences.
Fires are popping up all over Becca’s town and nobody knows who it is although the reason is more than obvious. Are the fires coming from outsiders ior is it from someone within the pack? The Alpha, Becca’s father, in a desperate attempt sends for help from the council. Would a quick hook-up at a ceremony be considered a second chance romance? Well that’s what it is between Becca and Mike at first and then they get down to business sorting out (among other things) who is terrorizing her pack.
What is there not to like about this book! Great story line, great characters - new and old, and just enough twist to keep a person guessing what it going on. The bi-play between Becca and Mike had me giggling on how ‘well’ they knew each other as well as enjoying as they got to know each other a bit more…and not just in the sack. There is plenty of excitement to be read and just then you think it has plateaued, there’s another level to be hurdled. Honestly, not sure which one had me griping the end of my seat: Finding out who was behind it all or meeting the parents!
Got to love when a book has a good supporting cast with my favorites being Kenny and Todd. I wouldn’t say no to the read if they get their own story. From reappearances of Mike’s friends from previous books to the introduction of new memorable ones, everyone played a huge part of making Pack Daughter a great addition to this series.
One more book left in the series. I will say there has been some I have loved more than others, but overall this has been a really good quick series to read. Pack Daughter was one of the ones I liked better, but still didn't compare to the first book in the series or Austin's book. However, Mike was quiet the hot protector, especially in lawns right outside of the pack main house, with the chance anyone could walk up including Becca's dad. *snickers* I'm excited to see how the series wraps up.
Minor spoilers ahead: I am not understanding the relationships between these heroines and their exes. They're going around telling them they will always love them and wish they could be their mates but also get upset when their actual mates become insecure and jealous. That is a big issue I have with this series. It's acting as if people never stop loving someone once they start, whereas I choose to believe that privilege is reserved for family members and the true love of someone's life. It just makes the relationship between mates seem less precious when the female still holds feelings for her ex-lover and makes that known to her mate and her ex. This is a hard thing for me to grasp considering all other books I've read about shifters have a certain reverence for the mating bond.
