Amber Boudreau holds two degrees in Geology and works part-time for the state Geological Survey. In between household projects and parenting, she writes youth and adult fantasy. A native of Northwest Indiana, she currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with her husband and two children. The Dragoneer is her debut novel.
This is what happens after Moira Noble and her dragon Zephyr solve their immediate problems in The Dragoneer by sending the captain of trolls back to his world and getting the Librarian to take the Book of Wyverns out of her chemistry teacher’s head. The trouble is, those solutions only caused more problems. This time, Moira and Zephyr must take themselves off to the world Zephyr originally came from to rescue her friends Ansel and Aaron and really get to the heart of the problem. The book’s action is fast, its dialog crisp, and a large variety of dragons and other odd beings populate its pages. A very engaging trip to another world.
I love how the characters in this story begin in a familiar world, the state of Wisconsin. They are thrust into a magical world where they just want to find their friends and return home. Along the way, they learn important lessons and meet new friends and foes. Inside this book is a book inside of... Well, you'll have to read it to find out! Will the dragon and dragoneer return from their hero's journey in reasonably good condition? Amber writes a clever, witty, entertaining tale. A delight and a breeze to read.
Plunge into Moira and Zephyr’s next adventure and get lost in the incredible world building that Boudreau excels at! This book is excellent in so many levels- the characters, the story telling and it’s relevance in a world where women are once again being relegated to second class citizens! Bravo to Boudreau for giving us a strong, intelligent and humble hero!
I loved all the characters, really getting into Moira and her life- I could really relate. I can recommend this to so many young people looking for a fun, approachable introduction to fantasy. I loved Ms Boudreau’s use of vocabulary, excellent dialog and concepts that were scientifically accurate (well minus the sci-if/Fantasy elements). It was a great read and page turner. Highly recommended!!
Another great addition to the story of Moira and Zephyr! I loved exploring a new world with them and understanding more about the relationship between dragon and dragoneer. The storyline continues with a lot of the same characters from the first book, and we get to know some great new ones as well.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Moira and Zephyr up to their ears in trouble in a fascinating new world far from home. They find new friends, plenty of enemies, and learn a lot along the way. Definitely recommend this story.

A great sequel to The Dragoneer! The book starts right where the last one left off, jumping directly back into the action. I highly recommend for fans of The Inheritance Cycle series and the tv show Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia.
