I read this book with my kids and they loved it ... I'm not gonna lie, I only added it to my read shelf to reach my 2022 Goodreads reading goal, but yipeeeee for me GOAL COMPLETE! Nevertheless I enjoyed reading this with the kids. It was full of colourful illustrations and some great rhyming skills!
My 4 month old baby loves this book. He gets excited (squealing, smiling and limb waving) when we read it even though I'm certain he understands none of the actual words. It's a really fun story from my perspective so I'm sure he will enjoy it for the story too as he gets older and it will take me a while to get bored of it. The drawings are colourful and full of interesting things to look at that add to the story. We own two of this authors books and enjoy both so will be keeping an eye out for more from them in the future
Dilly the Donkey enjoyed pulling the children to school however his owner thought that she was getting too old to be doing that so he replaced her with a younger, stronger horse. However there were thieves that saw the new horse as a wonderful animal that they could steal and Dilly had overheard their plans of the theft. She tried to warn the owner but unfortunately the owner could not understand her so in the end, she came up with a plan to scare of the robbers. She succeeded and was still sold. However her new owner was the sheriff of the town who used her successful plan and continued to bring criminals to order.
