I was born with less than a one percent chance of survival. No doctor thought I would make it. One was brave enough to take a shot. Two open-heart surgeries later and here I am. Living so close to death, I’ve always wanted be sure of my purpose. I wanted to leave nothing behind when my time was up. I wanted no dream to be trapped within my grave.
It didn’t take long for me to understand my purpose, my dream. I was a storyteller. I wanted to write and I wanted to share my stories with people. All the way at the edge of my memory I can recall playing narratives out in front of the family camera. Growing up, my best friend and I made hundreds of films. Every weekend was a new story to tell.
I love narrative and I believe strongly in its power. Narrative has inspired me and helped me become a better man. It is my hope that my work inspires the next man or woman behind me to pick up the pen and give their dream a shot. You never know when the reaper is going to come knocking.
Frozen Wrath is a compelling work that packed a few hard punches with me. This book is brutal, vicious, and filled with visions of war, revenge, and death. Goozdich has a way with words that wrings a kaleidoscope of vividness from each scene. His writing is eloquent and beautiful; it has a type of poetic feel that lends itself to the telling of this story. I believe that poetic feel of his words made this war-torn story more powerful. He tells a hell of a story.I look forward to his future installments in this series (Retaliatin Mountain, Book 2) as well as the other stories he’s cooking up.
These are the words that come to mind when reading Frozen Wrath. This thriller zooms in on the ugliness of corruption and the need for revenge. While this is a gritty and dark story that often leaves you feeling uncomfortable, Goozdich’s interesting and clever prose makes you turn the pages of this story with eager anticipation of the next scene. Frozen Wrath is a short thriller full of action and a peek into the heart of regret and brokenness. The story gives off Rambo First Blood vibes, which shows Goozdich’s love for the genre. frozen Wrath also sets up for book 2, Retaliation Mountain, which I fully intend to read soon. (Content warning: profanity and violence)
This work is a solid first effort from someone who obviously has a passion for writing. Luke’s prose is really beautiful at times and he does a great job creating a story which is fast-paced and has a surprise ending that I thoroughly enjoyed! If the synopsis interests you I’d definitely say it’s worth taking a chance on. As for my part, I’m excited to follow along as he grows as a storyteller and will be keeping an eye out for his next release.
Favorite quote: “It is what we want to forget the most which we have the least luck leaving behind. It is only what we wish to cling to that so easily slips our grasp. An unholy paradox.”
If you have ever read First Blood by David Morrell or if you just like a great action book, Frozen Wrath is for you. Just think of Rambo meets Sons of Anarchy on a snowy mountain. I didn’t know what I was getting into reading this book, but it was worth my time. The only downfall was the book was short, but there is a second book that goes with the first Retaliation Mountain, which I’ll be getting to in the next few weeks.
