An abandoned mail-order bride. A gallant cowboy more than ready to help a sweet damsel in distress. Penelope Fairchild has led a sheltered life in Boston.
As the only child of a powerful judge, Penelope was raised to be independent and outspoken.

She is alone. In a strange town. Nearly out of money.
Desperate, Penelope offers a family heirloom in exchange for a wagon ride to her future husband. The driver, Nate McCord, is impossible and infuriating, but he’s her best option.
Will this rough-mannered Texan protect her and deliver her safely in this wild, untamed land?
The youngest son of a wealthy Texas cattle baron, Nate’s both a rebel and a charmer. He’s the one man she never imagined.
And the one man who will do anything to keep her safe…

As more is learned about her prospective groom things begin to concern those around Penelope. Is she falling into a trap or will her groom be the man of her dreams?
Ever since I read my first Charlotte Dearing book, I've enjoyed her work. This book was quite enjoyable with MCs I found loveable and interesting. The story was clean and had a light inspirational touch that I found well-done. If you enjoy sweet, clean love stories set in the old west, I recommend this book to you.
Penelope travels to Texas as a mail order bride having paid her own way. Her intended doesn't meet her leaving her to arrange her own way. Nate steps to provide transport and along the way becomes attracted. So many interesting characters made the story entertaining.
The entire series was wonderful. Will Marie have her story told? All the guys have married. She needs a second chance at happy ever after. Will Amelia give in to Wade or someone new? Don't leave us hanging. Thanks for great storytelling.
enjoyed this book. A sheltered young lady lost her father nd she had to leave her home for an arranged marriage. She faces a few problems . Can she find happiness? This story was easy reading and I couldn't stop till I found out an ending.
This book is a refreshing breath of air. All the problems that cropped up for Penelope was an adventure in itself. One thing after other was a constantly happening to change her course in life. In the end all things came together for a sweet happy ending.
Pleasant read. Mailirder bride comes west to find out her intended is not a good man. Is rescued by a very nice man and he helps her settle. If course he knows her intended and decides to help her avoid him as he is well acquainted with the man. If course they end up together.
This story captured and held my interest throughout! I love all of the main characters! The colonel and his wife are enchanting and Nick and his passenger relatable.
I so enjoyed the Bethany Springs series. They are well written with interesting curves. There is no violence as often seen in “old west”, the curves being more emotional than physical.
This is such a sweet story. I smiled through the whole thing. Nate being smitten was fun. Penelope is a really good character. The Jenkins are precious and Cinch was a fun little element to the story. Just the sweet western historic romance I wanted.
I could just picture all the characters and felt like I knew them all. That's how well written this story was. And the story, well when you know you know.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were realistic and adorable and it was just fun to read. I’m happy to recommend it to my friends and family.
