Beauty and the Villain seems like a cross between a redemption and a revenge plot and it grabbed me by the throat right from the beginning.
Rush is the dark prince who is willing to do anything and everything for the vengeance that burns through him. His life was ripped apart and the man who ruined everything doesn't get to live his life untouched. What better way to make him suffer than to take his daughter and do... whatever he wants?
Aileen is the young woman who doesn't have a clue of the reality she lives in. She doesn't really know her father, her family, herself. That doesn't stop her from defending them with everything she's got. It doesn't stop her from fighting against the kernels of truth to what Rush reveals. All she knows is that she's his captive and she has to find a way to escape this villain.
I'm loving the mystique surrounding Rush and his castle on an island. What really happened? How did he become obsessed with revenge? What exactly was done to him and his family? And will his newfound heart have the power to save him? Save Aileen?
Book two can't come fast enough. I just hope Aileen finds some sense in the meantime! She's too focused on thinking she knows everything already, despite evidence to the contrary, typical to the newly adult, and I can only hope that she learns something from the suffering she receives.

Absolutely loved this latest nail biter from VF Mason! Beauty and the Villian is dark romance perfection ❤️. I just love a good revenge plot where the (anti)hero gets foiled by his own pawn, lol. The chemistry between Aileen and Rush is off the charts and I totally fell in love with their mutual backstory. Well written with tons of action, suspense, and a twist you don't see coming along with a cliffhanger that will leave you on the edge of your seat. There are so many secrets left to be revealed - I can't wait to see how it all plays out!
Beauty and the Villian is the first part of a duet and ends on a cliffhanger. The duet is best enjoyed after reading VF Mason's other dark romances which are all interconnected, but it is not necessary. The story is told in first person, from multiple perspectives.

VF Mason has done it again! Aileen and Rush are the epitome of the tale of Beauty and Beast with a touch of Hades and Persephone thrown in, just to mix it all up.
Rush is a beast, a lonely man enduring life with a vengeance, hoping to seek revenge on those who have wronged him.
Aileen is a young 18 year old woman with a brilliant mind. She is thrown into this tale for the only reason that she is Lachlan's daughter (yes, that Lachlan). This couple becomes entwined, quite by innocence initially, but then with malice and pain.
But that ending, oh my goodness!

ONE WORD. AMAZING. I’ve been waiting this story for a year! And it’s finally here and i read two books and it’s so freakin romantic 😍😍😍😍 I always said to myself I’m thankful to be able to find this author cause the novels that this author write is so freakin great! Just like I wanted😍😍
↔️THIS REVIEW WILL BE ABOUT THE FIRST AND SECOND BOOK.↔️
THE FIRST BOOK is more of a introduction about the heroine and hero and how they meet for the first time and how they get to know one another so it’s more about their first history… THE SECOND BOOK is more about the rest of their history together and how their future is going to be like and how they’ve come through…
I LOVE HOW THIS STORY explains and it written is well… not too confusing and not too boring… So even though this book contains a few violence and dark past and dark history about the hero and the heroine’s father, it explains so well in a way you really understand without be like “yeah yeah we get it already”. If you know what I mean lol. That’s why I don’t get bored when I read from this author… cause i easily get bored when the writing of the book is too confusing or too much, but from this author i never get that. It’s always so fun, addicting and made me more curious than ever….
It’s a dark love story but to me it’s not too dark though, it’s also a slow burn not too annoying and not too long….

The hero is not a manwhor3…. The hero’s personality is very complicated one, not too complicated just very though. But not too annoyingly complicated… He has a very very dark past in his childhood time and of course he suffer from it. But even though he been through all of that hell, he always treat the heroine physically and mentally so romantic… He never brings up his past a lot to the heroine, only when she wants to or ask to or the situation demands… The hero stalk the heroine for quite some time even when the heroine was dating someone else. He stalk her and put cameras on her room, hack to her phone and knows everything she’s doing with her phone and almost everything he really stalk her on that 😂
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE is a dancer and very very smart beautiful human being. She’s very nice person and friendly.. not too sassy tho. She is well known to be very smart since she’s a child and almost like a nerd sometimes. But not too much lol. The heroine got into college when she was fourteen years old and that’s how smart she is… I love it when the author made the heroine like this because it’s very refreshing unique the character is to be like that😍 And also the heroine can speak many languages, she’s studying psychology and she loves learning history😍
Before the hero officially date the heroine, the heroine was dating with someone else in two years. But they never have s3x tho, never even made each other come. It was weird but I’m glad that happened🤣 Her ex was a great guy too, and they made appearances only like two-three times… Not too much so don’t worry.

Beauty and The Villain by V.F. Mason
V.F Mason can write a Villain but at the same time, feel sympathy towards them. I have so many questions after reading this book. I cannot wait to know the answers and uncover all the secrets. The story is loosely based from the fairy tale but this dark mafia romance is something more than that. There is also a touch of Hades and Persephone in the characters. The Hero/Villain’s name is Rush and has a revenge planned towards the father of our heroine; the Beauty named Aileen. An 18-year-old genius, sheltered, protected, and very much love by her father who is the Underworld king of New York. His long standing grudge is to take away the king’s princess, he knew it’s the worst pain and strike where it would hurt the most. Rush and Aileen have a history and it’s quite delved in the story, they knew each other despite their age gap. I love Aileen’s way of thinking, she’s logical and strong and can withstand Rush’s villainous and tendencies, but his seducing ways can be hard to ignore. As I go along the story, the questions keep coming, what happened to Rush? Why is he so angry with Aileen’s Father? Where does his pain comes from? I am desperate to know but then the author shocked me, and I am not prepared for that cliffhanger! I NEED THE SECOND BOOK!!!
Overall, a different kind of antihero with an enthralling plot. Well done!

Despite the premise and intrigue of the storyline -- antihero, revenge plot, stealth, an unstoppable attraction between main characters Aileen and Rush, and hot jealousy, the writing style was problematic. It was overly descriptive, and as a result, the pace was unwarrantedly slow. The filler of the day-to-day minutiae did not progress the storyline and so did not hold my attention. DNF 35%

A dark retelling of my favorite fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, my literal favorite trope ( dage gap), and a whole dark and twisted vibe? Ah, I was ravenously excited for this- Beauty and the Villain had my name written all over it, and given how many amazing things I’d heart about a few of this author’s prior works, I was extra excited to dive into this new world with this new to me author.
I love retellings, particularly when they are more reinventions with clever referential content that keeps it reminiscent of the original but while paving a creative pathway all of it’s own. And this one certainly isn’t a direct translation. We have our beauty Aileen in relative safety with her powerful father, only our beast Rush has it out for him- so what better way than to hurt him than kidnapping the girl he once loved.
Narratively we have past vignettes interspersed through our present, juxtaposing their feelings so we understand their past motivations and perspectives while we see them going at it in the future.I really wanted to love this- all the elements are there, but I really struggled with the pace of this story, and ultimately even wondered if it needed to be a duet. It’s angsty, but it started to feel really static as a while- these two caught in a cycle of repetitive rehashing.
Towards the end, things started picking up, and we have some twists and a cliffhanger to take us into the finale. The bones of this are great- so I’m hoping our second book will pick up a bit more and have more momentum.

This certainly was an interesting surprise, this is the first book I read by VF Mason and certainly won't be the last, I love the dark side and intensity of the story, yes I love dark romances, the darker the better. Aileen and Rush's story is a mix of Beauty and the Beast retelling, mafia elements and steamy scenes. I loved the dual POV, as it makes it way more interesting. I so need the next one please!

DNF…which is a bummer since the blurb seemed very promising. I mean who doesn’t love a dark beauty and the beast trope with a scarred, revenge-seeking anti-hero who finds redemption in the arms of the sweet, innocent object of his depraved obsessions? But unfortunately, I just could not get into this story. The writing felt a bit too farcical in nature, the setup felt forced and while the author clearly knows how to write hot, steamy sensual interludes that melt your Kindle,, the insta lust between the MCs just struck me as a bit silly and unbelievable because there was no depth or buildup or emotional intensity to their relationship. So sadly this one did not work for me but of course this is just MY opinion and from all the high ratings on this book clearly this book struck the right chord for a lot of readers. But different strokes for different folks and I might check out another book from this author at some point in the future!

This is the 1st part in a new duet, and this is Rush and Aileen’s story. Rush leads a lonely life, as he had it all when he was betrayed in the worst way, and he has been biding his time to extract vengeance against his enemy, and after a decade it is time. Aileen is Lachlan’s much-loved daughter, and she may be a genius, but she has led a sheltered life. This story ends in a doozy of a cliffhanger, and I look forward to reading the conclusion to this fantastic duet. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, intense, and intriguing, with secrets, truths, vengeance, family, friendships, danger, suspense, twists, emotion, betrayal, anger, pain, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner.

What was that? I have been a huge huge fan of this author because of the way her dark romances just hook me in but I am not lying when I say that this is her at her best!! I don't even if the author is a HER but let's just correct that later 🤣 I am sorry!! But honestly, this book is so good. Its enemies to lovers romance with kidnapping at its peak.
VF Mason always has the most darkest and intense heroes that jook me in from page one. They are totally irredeemable but somehow I always feel connected to them and that was the same case here. The hero of this book is more of a villain but the way the story plays out is just so good. The ending was amazing and I can't wait for more!!
This one is a dark romance with triggers so please keep those in mind before picking it up. Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there.

Just when I think that I have discovered or read every variation of the Beauty and the Beast retelling that could be made, along comes this book. I have devoured every word that this author has written but this one had me excited, knowing that one of my favorite characters, Lachlan, was going to play a pivotal role in this story. I will say I wasn't prepared. Especially, with how these characters were going to be tied together. I was having a hard time racking my head around how the author was going to traverse the line of pitting Lachlan against Rush with Aileen caught in their proverbial tug of war.
It never ceases to amaze me how adept this author is at creating a less than savory character, okay let's call a spade a spade here and just say villain, and still make me root for them. Even weirder is when I root for them in SPITE of my love for Lachlan. I thought I had the story figured out. I knew that it was going to have a twist since this is part one of the duet, however, this twist? 1000% didn't see it coming. My nerves are wrecked because the situation that Aileen finds herself in, is not good. My stomach dropped at a certain point when I realized that the two sides had the same reaction to how dire her situation was.
There is a lot still at play here and I cannot wait to get answers to my questions and solve this mystery. So many players, suspense, and secrets, I am dying to find out. I need the answers like I need air.

This is my first introduction to author V.F. Mason and holy smokes I was blown away. I was absolutely hooked from the very first chapter. The story of Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite romance stories and I was not disappointed. V.F. Mason did a wonderful job with this love story. The journey between Aileen and Rush was full of angst, drama, sexual tension, and passion.
V.F. Mason compels her readers by portraying each scene in ways readers can easily imagine it playing out right in front of them. The character development was spot on, especially with Rush’s character. Even though he is a villain, I truly felt sorry for him, hoping he would be redeemable by the ending. This story is full of heated passion between these enemies turned lovers, with loads of spicy moments. What drew me in was the absolute harsh reality and darkness of Rush’s history. Moments of action had my heart racing and that ending was completely unexpected and blew me away.
I highly recommend this one if you’re a fan of dark and twisted romance. Take note of TW: Kidnapping, age-gap, violence, sexual assault, child endangerment.

Dark, raw and intriguing this compelling storyline was. I was really into this story and the characters blew me away. I can’t wait for the next book.

Sigh * I actually have no words, I'm just speechless, still trying to compose myself. This book shook me!! And it's not about Aileen and Rush, it's about Lachlan and His love for his little princess!! God I'm tearing up wiritng this review, I have never read anything like this before where the author wrote and expressed so beautifully about the unconditional love between a Parent and his Child!!! *Sighing in contentment* 😍❤️ Lachlan's Love, his fierce protectiveness, his strict dad Mode, the way he cared about his babygirl!! Ughh! I just can't! I'm becoming very emotional!!
While I loved Aileen and Rush, but in this story Lachlan Won My Heart Through and Through!! He is the best Fictional Dad I've ever read about. When He was injured, I almost died, I thought He died! God 😭 if our author killed him then I don't think, I would have pulled myself together ever!! It was the worst pain I experienced in my life!! And I don't wanna remember it ever!! Horrible!! 🥺❤️🩹✨
Anyways!! Coming to the story Rush wasn't my ideal hero, I'm only giving the duet 5 stars because of its beautiful full of secrets and mysterious plot, all the interesting Hot as hell side characters , and our Lachlan obviously!!!
Aileen 's character was the perfect mix of strong, innocent and intelligent! It was well portrayed, only if Rush were a little bit more possessive of her and accepted his feelings for her sooner, except he kept on denying his feelings ended up hurting Aileen back to back! I didn't like that!!
Apart from this, the story was perfect, when I was reading it, I actually felt myself being a part of their world, it was like a movie!! So so good! All of it the story the plot the secrets the actual villain and Aileen 's family!! 🔥 🥵 😏 🥺❤️
Perhaps that's why I was so heartbroken when Lachlan got injured badly!! I thought I was gonna die, the pain was worst. But in the end everything and everyone Got their Happy Ending including our Hot as fuck Villain.😘
I'm requesting our Author, to write Dante and Caroline, Levi and Lavender 's story asapppp.

𝑴𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 𝒄𝒐𝒑𝒚 𝒗𝒊𝒂 𝑮𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑴𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔 𝑷𝑹.
The primary aspect of this book that I enjoyed was the excellent writing; there were times when it was really poetic and tremendously hooking, leaving you wanting more.
The Beauty and the Beast mafia inspo take here was pretty interesting and layered- adding that part towards the end is a plus point here, as well as something I wasn't expecting.
There were also times when the writing seemed to drag, particularly in the middle and beginning of the lead's interactions, which I didn't particularly enjoy.
I'm also conflicted about the characters; they were interesting, but I couldn't really like them- there were times when their characterization was good, and other times when they kind of went back to that part again, which was tiring.
As for the romance, I wouldn't call it great, but it was okay and could have been better if there were more developments in their characters.
Overall, I'd say this is pretty good in terms of writing and take of Beauty and the Beast. I'm definitely excited and can't wait for the second book. 3.5 ⭐

I’m really here for Rush.
I know Aileen is way young but like come on, (she kind of bored and annoyed me), give her more time to even grow up some more and yes I can say that but this wasn’t one of my likes, but the storyline won’t lie is good. Now for Rush I don’t know what his deal is but I’m more curious to find out how everything will unfold.

I really tried to get into this book. I was looking forward to it. I could not connect with Aileen. I understand she’s young but come on, it was a little ridiculous. I did get tired of all the letters back and forth from when she was younger. The story was just slow for me. It was an ok book and some will love it. It just wasn’t for me. Sorry
