I look like any other woman. I’m not that tall, I don’t have a ton of muscles and I don’t walk around, carrying a shield. This is why I in reality have no business dealing with someone like Donovan Calloway. He’s a cutthroat lawyer who takes no prisoners and now he’s after me. My boss wants me. There, I said it. He wants the girl with the short skirts and the big hair. I have his attention but his methods to get mine are, well... let's just say they're unorthodox.
Regina (26) works for Jed, who’s the brother of the grumpiest boss of them all… Donovan (33).
Donovan has been obsessed over Gina for 6 months now, ever since she started working for them. He hates that she works for his brother, whom he doesn’t have a good relationship with. His brother and father wanna take her with them to a new company, but Donovan isn’t going to permit that. So he becomes a little… unhinged 😬😅.
I loved how dedicated and obsessed he was with Gina. Give me a psych0 all day everyday. Plus, he wasn’t with anyone while wanting her. Those are the types of heroes I love.
Possible spoilers- But… BUUUUT… he became a little… scary. I like my heroes to be manipulative, not so crazy I’m wondering if he’ll do anything physical 😬. He would never hurt Gina, but his actions spoke otherwise 😅.
I looove how intense he was, but then he’d pull it back. I kind of got confused. He takes pills and then it’s never addressed? What happened to that part of the plot? With how intense he got, I’m really surprised he didn’t go down the dub connie way (I would’ve loved that 😈).
I appreciated that he was so turned on that he broke his zipper 👀. Yup guys. He grew so much his poor zipper was no contest for his d. I don’t think I’ve ever read that 😅 in ANY book lol… and then once they finally have smexxx, it was 🥵. It gets 🔥🔥🔥.
Overall, it was a nice short read. I wanted it to be longer and more details/development, but it was fine.

Oh my God! What did I just read?!?!? 👀😆There is one big fat minus in this book- it was so messy and not finalized, this book lacked pages and the development of such a delightful plot. The hero is a toxic psycho abuser🤡! With the heroine, nothing is clear at all, she perceives the actions of the hero as related to work and his nasty despotic character. This is very short, if you want to laugh and not think about a clumsy plot, then I can recommend it for reading
I probably shouldn’t have skimmed reviews before reading this one, because I was expecting the hero to be a bit more over the top. He’s definitely obsessed! I enjoyed those parts, but the story felt a little too choppy to me. It’s actually quite a slow burn, which is odd for a novella. If you’re a fan of Jessa Kane’s OTT heroes, you may enjoy this one, but bear in mind it’s a slow burn! 3 stars.
Yikes… this could have been charming but just felt frenetic. I probably should have stopped reading when the hero’s peen literally got too big for his britches and busted out the zipper in front of the h.
I don't know how I was able to finish this novella. The number of times I almost DNF this was laughable and to think this is 96 pages only. God what a terrible hour of my life.
Donovan (33) is a ruthless lawyer working with his brother and father. His brother hired Regina (26) as his secretary six months ago, and Donovan got obsessed with her ever since. He was pissed that she was working for her brother cuz he wanted her all to himself. The attraction was mutual but Regina didn't act on it because she was loyal to her boss.
Below are the things that made me frustrated and made me still wonder why I finished this novella.
- He created an account to follow her on social media, only to bombard her with love confessions in her DMs, and some messages that seem to be really creepy and scary coming from a stranger.
- He called her one night to check up on her but ended up barking at a "good night" instead
- He told everyone they need to render an overtime because he was so pissed that she wouldn't give him any time of the day
- He pulled the fire alarm to get her attention and acted like he can't move because he was scared. Petty if you ask me but still comical.
- He locked her in their building to stop her from going to dinner with his brother.
- The next day after locking her up, he demanded a hug from her cuz he kept tossing around all night and didn't get a wink. He said he needed a hug to comfort him. What a freaking nut.
- He's willing to kill his own brother just to make sure she'll never leave him. Dude he's freaking insane.
- He doesn't give a crap about the feelings of other people. He fired his secretary for 7 years so that he can hire Regina. I mean wtf?
- He threatened her that he'll ruin her reputation so no one will hire her and she wouldn't have a choice but to crawl back to him
- When she didn't choose him, he thrashed the conference room acting like a 5 year old kid throwing a full on tantrum. He's a successful lawyer yet he acts like this?
- And when the stupid heroine realized that he's in love with her decides to forget his breakdown and do the deed with him in her boss's office. Oh and they got caught, talk about embarrassing moments.
- They're both insane that's the whole point of this story.

Haha oh man....this was bad....dnfed at 65 pages.....and it only has 95. That's how hard I was trying .
This H has no sense of reality. He's jealous of his brother because she works as hos brothers secretary. He doesn't want her smiling at other people because he doesn't want her smiling at anyone else but him 🤔 he locks her in her work office when she's about to go to dinner with hos dad and his brother for a thank you for your work dinner. So she gets stuck at work and has to sleep there
He follows hee in the bathroom and hears her pee while taking her lipstick. I like psychos but...this guy needed to be in a white padded, room. With that belted outfit. He was not smexxxy at all 😂😬😬
Plot: Regina works in a law office, where she is secretary to Donovan's brother. He can't stand it though; he's obsessed with Regina and will do anything to get her to notice him. Anything but talk to her like a normal person.
Commentary: I liked this one at first but then it descended into some sort of nonsense. It felt like the author was trying to make it as over-the-top as possible, in order to appeal to those people who want a crazy psychopath stalker, and maybe this worked for them. This guy was unstable though and it's difficult to imagine him functioning in the real world as a lawyer - I don't think his family believed he was functioning. All he had to do was say, "Regina, I like you - will you go out with me?" Or he could have sent her flowers with his name signed or asked his brother to trade secretaries. Anything other than the word tantrums he threw. It just became silly after a few chapters because it didn't make sense. I guess there's a line between hot psycho stalker and sad psycho stalker. This one was sad.
OHHHHHH!!! I love this one!!!! SOOOO MUCHHHH!!!! This one was super sexy and hot, i love the whole story. The obsession of Donovan and the lovely Regina!!!!
He’s a firespitting dragon that’s for sure but I’ve always had a feeling there’s a softer side to him, one that my fingers have been itching to sink into.
A part of me is afraid that if I ever get to see his softer underbelly, I’ll fall in love with him. Heedlessly and hopelessly in love.
They were both loved each other since the first time they laid eyes on each other. But they were all coy and shy hahahaahhaha. Until the day, Jed (Regina’s boss decided to leave and wanted brought her together with him).
“You can move!” “Answer my question. Do you care about me?”
“Of course I care,” she cries, looking around in confusion. “Don, what is this...?”
Deciding to reward her by stopping the torture, I turn off the alarm and she inhales, looking at me like she can’t believe I would do such a thing.
She gives me more credit than I deserve. Crossing her arms, she looks down at me with a frown. “That was so uncalled for. Why did you turn on the alarm?”
“Because,” I rasp, “I wanted your attention.” My eyes flash. “And I want you.”
Donovan was being like a dragon, he didn’t know how to love someone, didn’t know how to keep someone he love, also he became cray and out of his mind when he thought Regina was gonna leave him. He did stupid things and made me wanted to laugh throughout the reading.
“I know you’re not, Queenie,” he says with a lot of heat and I freeze up.
Queenie...? My eyes widen as it dawns on me and I stare at him in surprise. It was him...? He said he loves me. He said I love you, Queenie.
And my knees go weak when I realize that a man can’t love a pawn. He can only love a woman.
A woman who has a heart and I realize that this wasn’t a power play at all. His behavior...the things he did...it’s all because he loves me. And doesn’t want to lose me.
“Don...,” I whimper as he takes my hand and takes me, not into his but into Jed’s office. Alright, so maybe he still needs to exercise his masculinity and I moan with longing when he cups my neck and pulls my mouth to his. My lips part for the one and only man in my life and my head swims as he presses me up against the wall and rips apart the buttons of my blouse and some of them roll under the desk.
His lips latch over mine and he groans with his tongue in my mouth, “You were always the prettiest girl...the sassiest, the most wonderful girl in the world...I don’t know how to stay alive without you, Queenie.”
Donovan told his feelings to Regina as a stranger online, he think she was his little Queenie. He adored her, worshiped her so much, and when he said this adorable nickname, Regina realized, Donovan had loved her long time ago, he just didn’t know how to express his feelings in an proper way.
“I love you, Don,” I whisper, pouring my heart out for him and his eyes stir, his totalitarian ways settling down and I see the man behind the façade. The tender one, the one with a heart so big even he didn’t know what to do with it. But it’s all good now and I put my hand on his chest, stroking it because what’s behind it is mine.
“Love...,” I moan, filling with overwhelming affection that nearly rips my ribcage apart, leaving my heart unprotected, “you’re tearing me in pieces.”
“I won’t let you break,” she whispers with her legs safely locked around my hips. “I got you like you got me.”
I think this one was not bully but a super adorable and adorable and adorable as hell man learning how to love. He reminds me a cold arrogant ruthless dragon like a tyrant who was learning how to fall in love with a sweet girl.
“Come into the office with me today,” he rasps, pulling me in for a hug and I snigger. “But you always say I’m a distraction.”
“You are a distraction but maybe I’m in the mood to be distracted.”
“You?” I smile. “Unheard of. I thought you live for your work Mr. Calloway.”
He grins as if I got it all wrong and his eyes play. “For you, Mrs. Calloway,” he rasps against my lips. “I live for you.”
Epilogue was also made me smile like a dumbass, omg, this one was one of the best romances I’ve read in my life!!!♥️♥️♥️

OMFG the guy was a true psycho! He was actually scary AF! At some point it was like Psycho meets The Hulk! I was all ready to bring him to a mental institute and throw the key! I wasn't sure whether to be scared or laugh. Was afraid he would have a heart attack or an ictus or something.
Donavan to everyone is a ticking bomb. Regina is his brothers secretary, but oh does he want her. He comes off as controlling, rude, and miserable. However for Donavan it's just so hard for him to control his feelings.
2.5 stars Listen, I love me an OTT JP Hero just as much as the next girl, but this guy was a bit much. Not in the good (crazy/psycho) way. And there were too many unbelievable things that went on. She's locked in an office but can't get out because he took her phone? Are you telling me there are no desk phones in an entire law firm? And he fires EVERY employee mid tantrum and they all just get up and leave? They're lawyers, pretty sure they'd have something to say about that. And he can set off THEN TURN OFF a fire alarm? If by chance all of that can be overlooked, I just can't get past how she avoids him the whole book, but then at the end, all of a sudden she loves him because he texted her a week ago (anonymously) that he loved her? I. Just. Can't.

Male protagonist’s thoughts: "Step into my office, look into my eyes and say goodbye to me... She doesn’t, she walks right by, looking straight ahead and then she’s gone. I’m fuming, a pulse pounding in my temples and I grab my laptop and smack the lid down so hard it cracks."
My thoughts: Oh, fantastic. Nothing says “emotionally stable” like committing felony-level violence against office equipment. My man’s out here having a full-blown meltdown over a hallway interaction. Someone get this dude a therapist and a stress ball.
Female protagonist to male protagonist: "You've gone mad, Don. Mad.”
And honestly? She’s not wrong.
BUT THEN—logic has left the building—she proceeds to hug him. Like, ma’am??? He literally just locked you up in the office. Alone.
Tut, tut, tut. This man’s not “brooding”; he’s one bad day away from a restraining order.
Must say was having some second thoughts with the crazy vibes not knowing where it was going. For awhile I felt he had truly lost his ever loving mind. But it came together nicely and I absolutely loved it.
I know this is supposed to be a quick read but it was so bad I DNF'd it. I've read some great novellas and this wasn't one of them. I think it was supposed to be humorous but it really wasn't. The title was spot on. He WAS a Boss Bully. He was her boss and acted like a 5 year old bully throwing a tantrum. He was very far from the alpha j/p male that I expected and don't get me started on Regina! She was just a twit! Save a bit of time and pass on this one!
(1st reading) 2/26/23- Something about the writing was a little off at times, especially with odd word choices, but I still enjoyed the story. I liked how crazy-intense Donovan was, but if you've never read an Ever Lilac book, just be aware that her Heroes are pretty unhinged (usually without getting dark). Donovan was basically a sulking puppy seeking attention and affection from Regina; he pulled the fire alarm just to get her to look at him. The only thing he did that I didn't like was when he locked her in the office overnight so she wouldn't go to dinner with his brother/her actual boss, Jed, and their father who founded the company. She had access to the bathroom and food, and the office was heated, but still.
I liked the co-worker Marjorie, who always kept a sandwich in the drawer of her desk and ate it when she got stressed.
And this was my favorite jealous thought from Donovan about his brother Jed:
"Once she brought him cupcakes. On his birthday. With frosting. And she lit a candle for him. I didn’t speak to Jed for months after that, and stole three of Jed’s clients simply out of spite."
(2nd reading) 8/7/23- Still entertaining with how extreme the Hero was in trying to get the heroine's attention, but even with all that, I have to be honest...the writing was absolute crap.
°Virgin heroine °Hero celibate after meeting h °Switching POVs °He's 33, she's 26 °Possessive obsessed jealous OTT alpha hero (he was cray cray but I still liked him 😳 I just wish he'd had more sweet moments with the h) °No separation °No OW/OM drama °No condoms °Pushing away from the h °No cheating or scenes with OP °Epilogue: 6 years later
Donovan, the H was unhinged. He was a mix of a - twitter troll - sassy teenage edgelord - a petulant toddler.
Some gems of H: "Once she brought him cupcakes. On his birthday. With frosting. And she lit a candle for him. I didn’t speak to Jed for months after that, and stole three of Jed’s clients simply out of spite."
"I hate it when Regina doesn’t give me her attention. I hate when I have to share it with my brother and with this fucking firm. I want her to look at me . I want her to speak to me."
"She’s always attentive with others, always gives others all of her energy while I’m the one needing it the most. When she’s mine, she won’t ever work another day in her life. Just wait for me when I come back from work and she’ll be dressed in a silky robe with nothing underneath while offering me a drink. Sexist? Who gives a shit. It’s what I want."
If you have time to kill and are looking for some quick laughs-
This is fiction, I don't need comments about how his behavior is toxic and manipulative, maybe even creepy and illegal. I know and don't care.
He is soooo obsessed, its hilarious. He gets so frustrated and jealous when he doesn't get her attention or smiles at somebody else.
He hacks into her instagram to delete all her pictures so no one else can see them. He steals her belongings and keeps them in a drawer. He doesn't get her attention, so he set off the freaking fire alarm in the whole building. Because she says she's going on a dinner with his brother and father, he gets jealous and locks her in the building overnight - I wanted her to be madder about this (also, why didn't she take the stairs?) When she says she isn't willing to stay working for him, but move on with his brother who hired her - he fires literally everybody as retaliation until she gives in.
This book left me with so many weird thoughts. It felt like it was all over the place. Originally it started quite well with him being possessive, but then he began to steam roll over her and practically went insane. Hacking her social media account, firing her friend, being really mean when his secretary asked if he liked her, firing everyone, going beserk. Side note those pills he was taking and all that stress makes me think he is going to have a heart attack young. I felt like he could have totally taken better steps then going beserk and making everyone hate him. Even in the end he couldn’t properly confess her feelings and he had to manhandle her. We don’t even know what happened to Majorie, the secretary, why his brother and father left and if he was actually kind prior to her.
Ow....ow...ow... how I loved how obsessed this H was with our h. A literal sense of doing anything for the one you loved. The H wasn't literally bullied. He's just doing anything he pleased in order to possess his love, even though what he did was absolutely crazy. And I like how the h was accepting it and even thriving in this crazy situation. The chemistry was great with smoking-hot sexiness.
Virgin h No condoms Dual PoV, 1st person Billionaire boss H, smart assistant h No drama/angst No cheating, No OW/OM Medium high heat Safe read, HEA, epilogue Overall score: 4.5 obsessed alpha stars
suuuuuuper OTT hero. im a bit confused about part of the plot. i thought it would be revealed that his family members were drugging him to make his business fail. i mean, he was popping pills that he'd recently started taking, then acted super erratically "in the name of love", and the heroine throws the pills out and says he shouldn't take them. what happened to that plot point? i feel like the author was going somewhere with it but then abandoned it? anyway, as always this author writes captivating romance novellas, where the details should've been ironed out in editing. but i always devour her books.

I spent at least a good five minutes laughing at each of these chapters. 😭 This was so funny.
Donovan is quite childish and toxic. Picture a toddler obsessed with a toy that he can't have and does everything in his power even throw tantrums to acquire it. That's what Donovan does to get Regina.
If you want a quick, nonsensical read this is for you. 😂😂 Im still laughing.
WTF did I just read??!! What a waste of my precious time *sigh*
I like my psychos to be functioning, calculating and manipulative, not... whatever this "hero" (and I use that term very,VEEEERY loosely) was. This dude was completely off-his-rocker insane. Didn't enjoy it in the least. Sorry, not sorry!!
3.5 dang this is one of the most OTT psycho H i read in a while xD and i loved it, even if he was scary sometimes .
This plot needed more development tho big time! I'm so upset that it hadn't a good build up, this could've been easily a 5 star. We needed more from it, if you give us a psycho then give us more xD Loved the idea of it but bad delivery. BUT this was a good read over all , i mean, it was funny seeing him like that xD
This is probably the most annoying book you have written. So many are the same, after awhile they just become tripe. I hated this book. The woman was very stupid and everyone let the boss get away with his crap. I would have turned him in . I quess that doesn't have the selling power of junk.
What a chaotic with no development whatsoever fuck of a book this was. It missed a tone of answers and he isn't a bully he is an obsessive stalker with no redeeming qualities. She has no personality and no chemistry.
Donovan was over the top. His and Regina story was definitely intriguing from beginning to the end. Although I understand why he was that way. I hope his brother gets his story told as well.
