A snick of the door and then silence. Blessed silence. Who left? The strangers or dad? … The air moves with the trail of something delicious. Sandalwood and freshly laundered warmth. Is there a smell for that? There must be because I smell it. Like the warm smell from clothes when you’ve just pulled them from the dryer. This person smells clean, minty even.
He apologizes to me and grabs my hand. There’s the warm again: warm skin, warm scent, warm comfort. Warm air, puffed from his mouth, hits my cheek as he leans towards me to speak. Warm mint… … Slowly seeping back into the nothing, I embrace the release. The pain is forgotten, but now, my veins pulse with ice.
I stay in the cold. I wish he could bring back his warm.
*a very big thank you to my friend S. E. Green for sending me a copy of Nora in exchange for an honest review*
I give this a solid 3.5 stars. The writing was little heavy on tell rather than show but as her first book, that's to be expected. There's definitely a lot of potential in her writing, and I'm really excited to see it develop! I liked the plot and found it very readable. Good sex, and I loved the multi Povs. Definetly Insta-love, but it was a fun and quick and made me happy!
Dr Will meets Nora when she’s admitted to the ER after a ‘fall’ Her dad and uncle are with her and he realised they’re being shady as fuck and that she was actually beaten and had a history of abuse. He gets her away from them, some instalove later and they live HEA
-Dual PoV -Novella -Large age gap h18, H37 -Instalove -Doctor/patient -No owd/omd -h was a virgin, H experienced but didn’t come across as a manwhore or anything. -no third act breakup -HEA -epilogue 6 months later, still together, in love and Nora’s just been accepted into college.

I don’t read a ton of instalove because most of the time I feel like they’re all the same and are all spice and no plot but this one was incredible. Truly the perfect balance of spicy and sweet and interesting. The mouth on Will is unbelievable. I will absolutely be reading this again and again and I can’t wait to get a paperback copy 🥰
short and sweet? check hot doctor? check young, innocent virgin? check!
S.E.‘s debut novella was so good! I enjoyed reading and following along Will and Nora’s story. The chemistry between them was tantalizing. I can’t wait to see what else she writes!
I liked this! MMC is PSYCHO omg. I posted on fb asking for book recs and the author gave me a link to this book. Very quick read, which was what I wanted. Went into it blind not knowing anything, and was very surprised by the content. Made me pretty uncomfortable so props to the author on that. Very rarely does a book ever do that so I was pleasantly surprised. I like how it was dual pov, and could see what the MMC was thinking - he’s one seriously, seriously, seriously messed up dude 😂 the plot didn’t put the characters through irritating roadblocks so that was good too. Five stars for how ****** up it is. Reviewing it on Amazon too.
Cute story. Loved the doctor side of it and how he tried oh so hard to be professional but gave the real side of things for health care workers who see horrible things everyday and wish they could do more to those who have cause harm to our patients. Loved how William was so sweet with Nora knowing all she had been through and helping her free herself from a lifetime of abuse. So adorable watching their relationship evolve. Great story.
Ok, technically not since Nora is an 18 year old but the doctor is 2 decades older and Nora is a virgin. The doctor had plans for her from the moment he “examined” her in the Emergency Department. She is a victim of abuse at the hands of her father and her uncle. Soon she will be the victim of a man who is old enough to be her father. After discharge from the hospital and the Restraining Order against her dad and uncle she goes home with the Doctor who loves to call her “little girl” and other disrespectful names. The rest of the book is page after page of porn as Doc devours the virgin. I quickly skimmed over the rest of the story hoping for the end to come. I will try the next in the series but may not finish.
Nora is brought to the hospital by her father and uncle and this is where she meets Dr. William. This is a shorter novel and is more insta love but it is sweet and just the right amount of spice and heavy on the plot which I loved. Will was so sweet with Nora and just wanted to make her feel safe. The doctor and patient relationship is only in the very beginning. There is mention of physical abuse so be aware of the triggers.
Nora — part of the Innocence series, a set of interconnected standalones 💞📚
This novella features the virgin trope, an age gap of more than 15 years, and a doctor–patient dynamic 👩⚕️❤️🔥. The FMC has been through abuse, which adds some heavier emotional moments, so it’s good to check the trigger warnings before reading ⚠️.
It’s very much an instant love story — fast-paced, steamy, and easy to get through in one sitting. A quick read that delivers exactly what it promises 💋✨.
