The Gospel of Luke is one of the longest and most well-written pieces of literature within the New Testament canon. Its contribution to the four-fold Gospel book as well as to the interpretation of the New Testament overall is very significant. Modern commentaries on Luke are generally either technical/critical in approach or homiletical/devotional. Along with the rest of the books in this series, this commentary on Luke will follow a model that sees these approaches as not mutually exclusive but complementary. This commentary on Luke will provide technical details when needed but will also seek to address the ultimately theological subject matter of the Third Gospel.
