The Lust or Bust series continues with Zane Rosey!
I wasn’t made to be in love. I used to think I was, but that didn’t work out very well. Instead of dwelling on it, I turned to the books I write. I made my characters more broody and feisty. I make them work for it.
It was going swell. Till the day a woman, a real-life woman, decided she wanted to challenge me even more than I challenged the people in my books. And man oh man, does she make me work for it.
I'll admit, the whole thing was my fault, a result of the cockiness I held before she came into my life. I was the first to suggest we fake a relationship. Once that worked out well—too well if you ask me—I was hooked. I’d have taken any opportunity to spend more time with her. And I did.
Even though I knew our time was limited, I wish I had processed the ending better … prepared myself more, you know. Then again… what if I let myself be the hero for once? What if I let myself see that it could all work out and that I could have the girl in the end?
Maybe, just maybe, all I needed was for the right woman to come into my life.
This book was amazing. I love how this started between Zane and Willa started out to “fake” date to make someone else jealous. This story had me wanting to beat Zane over the head, and had me wanted to scream at both of them. For both of them to think there was an ending that they could go with and to watch it turn into more but neither one of them saying anything made me mad, but could not put down the book cause I needed to see how it was going to end and I love the ending. Can’t wait for the next one
I love reading spicy books so to read a book about a spicy book writer trying to find spice in his life...yes please!! Such a good read and the spice is nice!!!
💕A man who's been burned: ready to chance love again?
Likable, relatable characters and a tried and true fake dating trope with touches of steam made this a quite enjoyable romance read.
I love the idea of a gaggle of male romance writers supporting each other through their writer's block moments and real life romances. This story focuses on Zane, one of the group who is still tied in knots because his girl left him for his brother a few years back. He can write a good romance but professes he's just not cut out for anything but casual dating. Enter Willa, the female lead who could use some help landing her colleague crush at the health and wellness center, and Zane finds himself caught up in some fake romancing in front of Willa's colleagues and his family and liking it a bit too much?
I liked his growing closeness with Willa. Their connection gets steamy but it's not an immediate, no holds barred thing and I think the story is all the better for it. There's a bit of a twist that underlined Willa's self awareness and strength as she makes some big life decisions. It's great to read about women who trust their own instincts and don't rely on others for guidance.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
Write About You gives me all the warm feels! Rogers does it again with the witty banter of the best friends, slow burn romance, and excellent love story. She made these people human and I can see them being my friends - I really value that in a book these days. I enjoyed her bringing in the Black Alcove, too! Zane and Willa see the world differently but come together for their own goals. Rogers expertly keeps them together - which I appreciated - and the lust grows. So does the friendship. They are there for each other and that had me loving these two! I don’t want to put spoilers in here - the bottom line is that I loved this book and this couple. I will absolutely be picking up book 3 in the Lust or Bust series!!
Over 20 Years ago I had a best friend that we grew feelings and realized too late that we couldn’t be together, except I decided to run away and get married, 2 marriages later, still alone in thought. This is such a beautiful story, love the way Willa and Zane have such chemistry.
