Where to freaking start with this book?! I’ve been not so patiently waiting for Captive after the whirlwind of an ending in Pursuit and man, this book does not disappoint! There’s everything you could want in this book from humour, to heartbreak, to the moments where your heart just melts.

I absolutely adore the world and characters Ashley has created in the Dynasty series, I feel like they live in my head for months after reading her books. We get the answers we’ve waited for in this book but also get left wanting more answers by the end🤯. I am incredibly excited for book 5 to come out and to dive back into this amazing world🖤.

Where to start? I have been anxiously awaiting this installment of the Dynasty series and let me to tell you it was magnificent! It leaves off exactly where Pursuit left off and it was a stressing and overwhelming beginning to this book. We don't know what's happened to everyone Kat loves and we're thrown into the hell Kat is going through. I loved how Ashley wrote this book and her world building just continues to amaze me. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to give anything away. The story was amazing, characters still unbelievable and you need to just dive in and enjoy the ride. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ashley will have you wanting to jump into the book and join this world because you will not want to leave even when it's over. There is a new character that is introduced in this book and I am so intrigued and it really sets up the next book perfectly. Because that's right we're not done with this world just yet! This book was another whirlwind ride of my life and I cannot wait for what's next in the Dynasty series. Absolutely amazing!!!

I have enjoyed this series from the start, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed The Insiders series by TIJAN as it has the same feeling of suspense and the security teams aspect. After the massive cliffhanger at the end of Pursuit, Captive had me enthralled from the beginning. I would recommend checking the trigger warnings for anyone sensitive to content; it starts off darker than other books in the series. I have always found Kat (Katryn) and Shane to be likeable characters along with all the other sub characters that surround them and are very much part of the storyline. This series keeps getting better and is something I will re-read in the future, making it a 5 / 5 Star rating, in my opinion.

Captive is the fourth book in the Dynasty series and starts right at the cliff hanger from Pursuit. Ashley Samuels really makes you wait to get answers to some of the questions from before but you do get them (eventually).

This was a long awaited continuation and I loved every second, it definitely met my expectations. It was full of surprises and was well worth the wait.

This series is full of Action, Drama and Romance but this specific book was a lot darker and some of the scenes are graphic and upsetting but they are a huge part of this story.

My heart definitely still belongs to Toby, but I am a bit smitten with Cooper and hope he pops up again 🐶

Now we wait for Book 5!

This. Book. Was. FANTASTIC.
Captive is the the fourth book in the Dynasty series, and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint! It takes place right after what went down in Pursuit, I won’t spoil anything about what goes down in this one.. BUT I will say that Ashley will definitely keep you in suspense for awhile in Captive….
This book is filled with so many surprises that you will never see coming! I do recommend checking the TWs for anyone sensitive to content. Captive had me hooked from the beginning, and definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Kat and Shane are both such great characters, and it broke my heart to see what all they’ve been through. After what Kat has been through, I think her character development was great in this. She definitely has setbacks, but overall she is a very strong character. Let’s talk about Shane… He is my favorite. He’s also been through hell, but the patience he has for Kat throughout this series is just so sweet. Shane and Kat are both such likable characters, and I’m so excited to see what’s next for this series.
The plot was great and I can’t wait for book five! I have so many questions after that ending…


The Dynasty series just gets better and better each book. Ashley is a fantastic writer and such a kind person. I am so proud of her. ❤️ I highly recommend checking this series out if you like action, drama, suspense, and a beautiful love story.

This is definitely a five star read for me!!

I am obsessed with this world that Ashley Samuels has created!!!!!

Captive is Book 4 in the Dynasty series and it kicks off right where Samuels left us gasping and desperate for more.
From the moment I started I reading this story I was absolutely hooked. I had questions that needed answers and god my heart desperately wanted a HEA for Kat and Shane.
But...
Is it their time to finally get one?
Once again Samuels took me on a truly emotional and action-packed journey.
The action and drama had me either holding my breath or gasping during moments of shock and surprise.
The romance had me swooning hard (Oh Shane - all the heart eyes for this man).
The angst had my heart aching and me possibly (I will never tell) shedding a tear.
The characters I admired and fell even more in love with.
And....
The fast-paced / action packed plot had me sitting on the edge of my seat utterly captivated and hooked.
Then....
The ending, while not a cliffy cliffy it still had me like whhaatttttt!! I need the next book ASAP.

I loved and Highly Recommend the read!

Welcome back to the world of the Hungerford Dynasty and damn does this book pack a punch with the drama, intensity & emotions.

I absolutely love the intensity Captive has and instantly picks up from book 2. Falling straight into Kat's head and world is heartwrenching and yet the strength she showcases with those assholes is unbelievably strong. Kat reliving her thoughts of the accident is so sad and PACKS a punch.

Ashley had really created a powerful world and the mystery within leaves you ripping pages to find the answers!

"But it’s you who’s made my life here
complete. You’re the one who got me through everything. It’s always been you."

I personally feel we needed this build up about Stefano and his men as previously it was all mystery and STILL is but slowly unravelling. Not what i expected but DAMN the title is spot on with this book!

Emotional. Raw. Real. Its absolutely hitting the emotional tether and my heart has been taken on one helleuva a journey.

The ending. Whatinthelovinghell was that ending. What a cliffy and i am all for it!!

I was anxiously waiting for this book after the ending of Pursuit, and boy it didn’t disappoint. I love the characters within these books and I feel like I love them even more with each book that is released. The heartache at the start of this book to the heartwarming love near the end, has me wanting more from this world.
