After successfully getting ahold of Grea's father and helping the man with his research in the Tri-Valor Valley, Asterios and his companions paid a surprise visit to Tina during her grand graduation, turning the event into something much bigger than the organizers intended. Now, with the talented Summoner girl amongst their ranks, they are ready to tackle the next big challenge on their path to discover more about Ast's past and lineage, setting their sights on the mysterious Descending Spire...
Will everything go according to their plans? There are twists and turns behind every corner, they have already learned that much, and a certain very generous king did mention a gift during their last conversation. Asterios and Tina might be expecting something unusual, but they definitely aren't ready for how impactful it will be on their future.
Perhaps it's time to find a good place that their slowly growing family will be able to call home.
Introduction: Greetings, fellow readers. I am Kiba Snowpaw, an Alpha Ice Wolf from the frozen world of HowlStrom. With over three decades of life experience and a lifetime of gaming, I've ventured into countless realms, both real and fictional. Today, I bring forth my review of "Rise of the Weakest Summoner: Volume VI" by J.R. Saileri. As the cold winds of HowlStrom whisper tales of bravery and adventure, so does this book echo with drama, action, and the warmth of camaraderie.
Basic Plot Summary: Asterios, our protagonist, continues his journey of self-discovery, lineage, and power. With Tina, the newly graduated summoner, joining the ranks, the group sets their sights on the enigmatic Descending Spire. But as they've learned, every path is riddled with unexpected twists, and the promise of a gift from a benevolent king might just change their destiny.
Analysis/Evaluation: Saileri's storytelling prowess is evident in every page. The narrative is a blend of intense action, emotional drama, and intricate world-building. The furry essence is subtly woven into the characters' interactions, making it a delightful read for those of us who cherish our animalistic traits.
Characters: Asterios stands out as a beacon of determination and resilience. His companions, each with their unique strengths and quirks, add layers of depth to the story. Tina's addition brings a fresh dynamic, while characters like Grea, with her humorous antics, and Selene, with her mischievous nature, keep the narrative lively and engaging.
Structure: The pacing is impeccable. Saileri masterfully balances moments of tension with lighthearted interactions, ensuring readers are always on their toes, eagerly flipping pages.
Impact: This volume resonates with themes of family, loyalty, and the quest for identity. It's a testament to the bonds we forge and the lengths we go to protect those we consider family.
Hook and Thesis: The allure of uncovering Asterios's past and the mystery surrounding the Descending Spire serves as a compelling hook. The thesis? Even the weakest can rise, and family isn't just bound by blood.
Praise and Critique: Saileri's narrative is a masterclass in fantasy storytelling. The character development is organic, and the world-building is rich. However, a tad more exploration into the furry dynamics would have added an extra layer of depth for readers like me.
Evaluation: "Rise of the Weakest Summoner: Volume VI" is a gem in modern fantasy literature. It's a tale that warms the heart, even for an Ice Wolf like me.
Comparison: While reminiscent of epic sagas of yore, Saileri's tale carves its niche, standing tall among contemporaries. It's a blend of Tolkien's intricate worlds and the furry charm of works like "Redwall."
Conclusion: In the icy realms of HowlStrom, we value tales that ignite our spirits and warm our hearts. "Rise of the Weakest Summoner: Volume VI" does just that. It's a tale I'd proudly howl to the moons, and I eagerly await the next installment. Until then, may your paths be clear, and your spirits high.
There is a LOT to love and appreciate in this series. Every story arc is thoughtful and develops in a natural, unhurried manner. It’s clear that Author Saileri is deeply invested in telling the story of the Weakest Summoner. Though he takes a slow, low-key approach to character development, each of the main characters are larger than life by the end of volume 6 and their adventures literally thrum with excitement.
It took me a while to get around to giving this series a go, but I was hooked by the time I hit the fifth chapter of volume 1. I’m a KU subscriber, and normally don’t purchase the books. Totally wasn’t a factor with this story - had to have it in my permanent book collection.
I really enjoy Author Saleri’s writing style too. He does an EXCELLENT job in balancing back story, dialogue, and scene elements. I deeply enjoy the manner he’s chosen for his characters speech and behaviors - every character is different, showing the author has put a lot of thought into how each characters individual traits fit together to form a homogeneous whole. Though I’d be willing to bet that Grea is a bit of a stretch, even that character’s quirks contribute to the great vibe of the ensemble.
This review is a LOT longer than I’d intended, but there’s SO much to say about this series. It’s one of the best I’ve read. Looking forward to the coming installments. Thank you, Author Saileri, for this marvelous story.
This is a decent book that has issues that could have been easily fixed to make it much better. I listened to the audiobook and the story comes in at just over 18hrs, unfortunately there is no overarching storyline to tie the book together.
Slight spoilers ahead.
The story has a lot of little side branches that honestly add very little to the experience and would have been an addition by subtraction. The most interesting thing that happens and honestly what should have been the main focus of the book is that they are granted a town. It would have been a nice change of pace to build up a home base for the team and while it happens a little bit it's done in a way that leaves you feeling wanting. Another problem is character growth, a common problem in series like these is the women tend to lose any interesting tendencies after they become the MC's wife/gf etc. Outside of the princess who had by far the best story arc the other women have nothing interesting about them and there is no change or growth in their characters. The worst part of the book is the evolution of Grea, she goes from a quirky teacher and potentially interesting female friend that doesn't have to love the MC to an honestly embarrassing self proclaimed sex toy for the protagonist. I cringed in nearly every scene she was in after they began their relationship.
Ast and his mates are planning to go to Bryn‘s realm to find another peace of his’ memory.
While they prepare for it they get offered to be a lord and lady to a city next to the elves country. The position of the lord and lady is just by name because the city is lead by a committee of five or six people, which oversees a certain area of expertise, like logistics.
Of course it is not a quiet position as expected and they have to investigate some issues in the city.
I still like the series as the MC is not a douchbag that bullies and treats his women like a doormat. He grows during his journey through (hard) work and studying (still in a easy way compared to other books but still it wasn’t handed him on a plate).
His mates/familiars are well developed characters with the usual suspects, like the hyper active and the mature one. There is still room for development and hope the author takes the opportunity to do so.
I really hope the next book will be released in a timely manner, to further enjoy the story.

Although the book is overall a good 1 it has some major problems with it and 1 of those is the main character the main male character he is just a week main character he is constantly fussing over what is going on with his girls and he's weak because he says 1st ahead on this is not a hero change your name because it doesn't wanna be embarrassed and all the girls cannot figure out what they're not there is made with his girlfriend I mean the guy just.... He has no dominance about himself he is simply a weak character male and if not for the author forcing the issue he would never have gathered this many powerful women to his side. The only reason I continue to read the series is because I've already read the other books but I do not recommend this series to anyone who really likes a strong male character because this series is not it.
Team Scarlett Scale grows in strength and adds powerful new summons. They develop relationships with the rulers of different politys as they uncover hidden artifacts and take on additional responsiblities. My only critique is that John cannot be the only slacker in Glimmervale. Its just a bit too idylic to be realistic since rogues and knaves tend to accumulate. Im really laughing at Grea's smutty talk since they can't take her any where without her opening up her potty mouth.
Looking forward to the next installment when the team visits Bryn's world
A heartwarming tale of a powerful man with a good heart.
As avid readers and occasional authors, we respect how this story unfolds. There is suspense only to the point it moves the story along which is what we like (personal preference).
Overall this is a compelling story with unique worlds and epic venues. We have thoroughly enjoyed this book and its predecessors. We are eagerly looking forward to reading all of J.R. Saileri's offerings...by the fire...on cold windy nights...maybe under thick cozy blankets with plush pillows to lounge on...
Nothing really wrong with it, but it just seems more of the same. The ease at which things are acquired and the OP nature of the group has removed the conflict. The connections formed have removed the politics. There is nothing wrong with any of this, it just has the series stagnating just a bit. It is still a fun read, but you know where it is going the whole time making it more a diversion rather than an intense experience.
It should come as a surprise to NO ONE that this story is nearly impossible to put down!!! As with all of the authors writings, this part of the series is full of wonderful adventures, unique magic and adult fantasy activities!!! Readers will be very hard pressed to find any stories/series in any genre that are as well written as this author's!!! I like countless others will anxiously await what comes next
Six volumes in and still one of my favorite series. Usually around four or five volumes and I can tell if I love reading the story and can not wait for more or not. This story is one of the most well written series I have read. SPOILER: Based on the cover art, I was expecting the next love interest, but the surprise\not-surprise addition at the end was just icing on the cake of an already great volume.
When you discover yourself smiling and grinning? Again. (And I'm not referring! to the 💖 scenes). You gotta admit you're really enjoying the story. And it would really be a bit shameful to leave a rating without a review.
Really thought this volume would fast track to the descending spire adventure. It doesn't. If it did, we would have missed some really good storylines. Looking forward to the next part in Asterio's voyage of discovery. Lots.
Ast is one lucky dude…. errr yeah. the fun continues!
Still enjoying the further harem collection that sometimes has some adventures. I wonder who will be added next? A new summon? The only summon that hasn’t boned yet? I guess I’ll have to find out! My only criticism is …. Mirai. Is it bad I hope she dies? She is my least favorite character. So clingy and cringey. And dumb. lol. Ah well.
I usually enjoy these stories, but I found this one a little ‘samey’, very little progress was made in the main story and to be honest I found quite a lot of it quite boring and fairly repetitive. To fill the pages the author seems to have resorted to expanding the harem and introducing gratuitous sex at every opportunity.
OK I am really enjoying this book… And the series. People are interesting… He’s always getting a new girlfriend aren’t the real question is how he’s going to satisfy everybody is it a daily rotation, weekly, monthly, hourly who knows. And then about his Dragon parentage oh, interesting to see.
The story continues with consistency and enjoyable moments throughout. I thought the focus on a base of operations for the group was a good idea and well crafted.
The saucy scenes are still a bit overboard with their barrage of descriptions, but still fun to read if you can allow yourself to gloss over anything too jarring.
Another really good book in this series. The number of girls he has as a mate is getting a bit out of control but enjoying the story progression a lot. Hoping I don’t have to wait too long for the next one. Good job J.R.
An epic journey, Saileri weaves an exciting tale of intrigue, adventure, and self discovery. Full of riveting and charismatic characters, each with a well defined personality. Is is a thrill ride of epic proposition. A must read!
Great book and I can’t wait for the next one to come soon enough. I feel like there is still so much left from them to do in the story that I hope it goes on for another 3-4 books.
I really loved the jokes Grea started this book and loved how a *possible IMO* in-world evil org is “introduced” in a mysteries way that leaves edging for more to see how it’s all connected.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This series is one of my favorites. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters continue to be interesting and engaging. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next. This is a must read. So much awesome happens.
So many battles and adventures with new friends and more added to his Harem, Ast is THE Man. While learning more about his sealed past, they all get closer and have better battles.
